She was a life resident of
Skaneateles and was the
widow of Roscoe R.
Belknap. who died in 1982
She was a member of the
First Presbyterian Church
in Skaneateles.
She is survived by two
daughters. Mrs. Frances K.
Rice of Marcellus and
Eleanor B. Babcock of
Nashville. Tennessee, a son.
James R Belknap of
Marcellus: three brothers.
Alfred Clark of Auburn.
George Clark of Skaneateles
and Carl Clark of
Marcellus: 7 grandchildren.
Services will be held at a
time to be announced at the
Robert D Gray Funeral
Home. Skaneateles
Burial in Soule Cemetery

Eleanor Louise Belknap
Babcock, 66, of St. Augustine,
Fla. and Skaneateles Lake,
died Feb. 26,2006 after a seven
year battle with ovarian cancer.
She was born in
Skaneateles and was a graduate
of the Skaneateles School
System and Syracuse University
College of Fine Arts.
Eleanor married and moved
to Nashville, Tenn. in 1960. She
retired as a secretary and treasurer
of Babcock and Williams
and Royal Elm Properties.
Eleanor, beginning in 1992,
lived part time in St. Augustine
to be closer to her grandchildren.
She was an active gardener,
boater, and wonderful grandmother
who loved to travel the
world.
She was a member of the
Hermitage Rachel Jackson
Garden Club, Las Adelfas Garden
Club of St. Augustine, Antique
and Classic Boat Society,
Antique Boat Museum, and
Donelson Presbyterian
Church where she was an El-
der.
She is survived by her husband,
Donald E. Babcock; son,
Brook K. Babcock (Kit); granddaughter,
Hannah of Nashville,
Tenn.; daughter, Tina Miles
(Charlie); grandchildren, Gene
and Jennifer of St. Augustine;
sister, Kay Rice (Gene) of
Marcellus; one niece and four
nephews.
She was preceded in death
by her parents, Evelyn and
Roscoe Belknap, and brother,
Jimmy Belknap.
A memorial service was held
at Donelson Presbyterian
Church.

Rt. 20, Marcellus, died December
9.
Mr. Belknap was a graduate of
Skaneateles High School. He
was a 22-year employee of General
Motors. He was an avid
golfer.
Surviving are his wife, Irene
Miller Belknap; a daughter,
Donna, and two sons, Timothy
and Michael, all at home; two
sisters, Kay Rice of Marcellus
and Eleanor Babcock of
Nashville, Tenn.; and several
aunts, uncles, nieces and
nephews.
Services were December 12 at
the Ryan Funeral Home, Marcellus,
the Rev. Stephen Hluchy
officiating. Burial was in Soule
Cemetery, Auburn.
