    Obituary of Frederick E. Zimmerman

    Frederick Eugene Zimmerman, a longtime resident of Lockport New York, passed away Friday June 18, 2021, at his home with his loving family by his side.
    Born on December 10, 1922 of the late Clarence and Mabel (James) Zimmerman.  Frederick grew up on a farm in Cambria, New York.  He attended Lockport High School.  He joined the United States Army, serving during World War II in the Pacific Theater, receiving several medals for his valor and service.
    Following his honorable discharge in 1946, Frederick worked for Hollywood Candy Company traveling the East Coast.  During this time, he met his loving wife of 70 years.  Frederick then attended Bryant and Stratton Business School. Following his graduation, he joined his father in the family business.  In 1958, he and his brother took over Zimmie’s Tire Service.  After 30 years of working Frederick retired, spending winters in Central Florida.  He enjoyed golfing and fishing. Frederick was a former member of the Red Jacket Lodge 646.
    Frederick is survived by his wife Helen (Greth) of Lockport NY, daughters Joan Rukowicz (Richard) of Fallston, MD and Carol Fournier (Paul) of Lockport, NY, and son Doug Zimmerman of Lockport, NY; nine grandchildren, Christin Pasquinelli (Paul), Lauren Wilde (Chris), Stefan Rukowicz (Stephanie), Erik Zimmerman (Shannan), Heather Rhinehart (Brett), Jamie Johnston (Chris), Marissa Chandler (Ryan), Justin Zimmerman (Jocelyn) and Evan Shugats; and 19 great grandchildren.
    There will be no prior visitation.  A Funeral Service will be held Monday June 21st at 11 AM in First Presbyterian Church, 21 Church Street, Lockport.  Interment will be in Chestnut Ridge Cemetery.  The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, memorials take the form of donations to the Niagara Hospice, Inc. 4675 Sunset Drive, Lockport NY 14094-1231.

    (May 16, 1921 - February 23, 2015)

    Our sweet Jane entered into rest peacefully on February 22, 2015, after a brief illness, under the care of Niagara Hospice. Born May 16th, 1921 in Lockport, New York to Clarence and Mabel (James) Zimmerman. In 1942, she married Donald E. Sinclair of Lockport, NY. After marriage, they moved to Olcott, NY where Don worked at the Hedley Marina. In 1953, they moved to Wilson where Don worked at the Beccue Boat Basin Marina, while Jane worked for Marine Midland Bank as a teller until retiring in 1982. She was pre-deceased by her husband Donald in 1998, brother Clarence “Bud” & Alice Zimmerman, and sister Marjorie & Frank Disinger. She is survived by her only son, Donald Jr. & Linda (Pollock) Sinclair, brother Frederick and Helen Zimmerman, and Ronald and Sharon Zimmerman, grandchildren Michael, Terri, John and Katie, along with four great grand-children. Also surviving are fifteen nieces and nephews and numerous great nieces and nephews. She was a member of the Exley United Methodist Church in Wilson, and a member of the Newfane chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star. Jane was a loving and giving soul and friends and family who knew her all have a special memory they cherish of their time with her. Her light and love will sorely be missed by those whose lives she touched in her special way. May God speed her journey to be with Don and may their voyage together have fair winds and following seas. Funeral arraignments by Rutland-Corwin Funeral Home in Newfane, NY. No prior visitation. A private Christian burial in Glenwood Cemetery with a celebration at a future time at the convenience of the family & friends to be determined.     LOCKPORT — Marjorie Z. Disinger passed away August 23, 2013 in Beechwood Health Care Facility. Born in Lockport on December 25, 1925, she was the daughter of Clarence F. and Mabel (James) Zimmerman. Marjorie was a member of the Eastern Star, Red Hat Society, PTA and was a Girl Scout Leader, 4-H Leader and volunteered at the Red Cross.

    She is survived by her husband, Frank A. Disinger of Lockport; mother of David J. (Clara) Disinger, Donna J. (Timothy) Kleinhans, both of Lockport, Diane J. (Gary) Braun of Pendleton, and Jane A. (George) Ballesteros of Tucson, AR; grandmother of Christopher M., Allan, Scott D. Kleinhans, Danielle M. Abrams, Chad T. (Jennifer), Bradley Braun, Samanatha L. and Megan L. Disinger; great-grandmother of McKenzie, Briella, Addelyn Braun and Regan Kleinhans; sister of Jane E. Sinclair of Wilson, Frederick E. (Helen) Zimmerman of Lockport, Ronald D. (Sharon) Zimmerman of Florida, and the late Clarence Zimmerman; also survived by several nieces and nephews.

    Relatives and friends may call Monday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM in Prudden & Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St., Lockport, where funeral services will be held Tuesday at 1 PM. Interment will be in Glenwood Cemetery. Donations to a charity of one's choice would be appreciated by the family.

    Obituary of Evan J. Shugats

    Evan John Shugats, entered into rest on July 19, 2021. Born March 3, 1990, he was the very loved son of Carol (Paul) Fournier and John (Mary-Jo) Shugats. His sister Heather (Brett) Rhinehart adored him, as did his nieces, Taylor, Sydney, and Bella; and nephews, Peyton and Reggie. Evan was the stepbrother of Joshua (Hiesha) Pinkston and Katherine Pinkston. The beloved grandson of Helen Zimmerman and the late Fred Zimmerman, and the late Joseph and Rosemary Shugats, he also leaves behind many dear aunts and uncles. Evan cherished all of his cousins who he had very close relationships with.
    Evan was a graduate of Medialle College with a Bachelors Degree in Communications and was employed by Buffalo Fuel Corporation. He was an avid Bills fan who enjoyed hockey and Nascar and always rooted for Kevin Harvick. Evan was at a point in his life where he finally felt happy with all the great things he had going on, and part of that was his girlfriend Kendra Wind, who he loved so much. 
    Evan will be remembered as an extremely kind and loving person who adored his family and friends. He was loved by so many people who will miss him forever. In honor of Evan, wear your Bills gear when you come to call.
    Friends and family may call Thursday, July 22nd from 4-7 PM in Prudden & Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St., Lockport.  Funeral services will be held Friday, July 23rd at 11 AM in First Presbyterian Church, 21 Church St., Lockport.  In lieu of flowers donations to the Epilepsy Association of WNY, Inc., 339 Elmwood Ave., Buffalo, NY 14222 or at www.epilepsywny.org would be appreciated by the family.  Visit pruddenandkandt.com.
