Benson A. Benton Sr., born in Berry Brook, NY on December 22, 1917 and passed away peacefully on May 14, 2017. He is a retired United Methodist minister, World War II veteran, and a member of the Masonic Fraternity.
He was predeceased by his wife, Florence J. Benton, brothers Robert H. Benton Sr., Paul Benton (Leah), and Bill Benton (Kitty). He is survived by his three children: Benson A. Benton, Jr. (Judy), Hugh M. Benton II (Rebecca), and Helen Smith (David). He is also survived by six granddaughters and 5 great-grandchildren.
There will be a Memorial service at St. James United Methodist Church on June 24th at 10 AM followed by a Masonic service. Interment will be at Acacia Cemetary at 12:30. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Masonicare, 22 Masonic Avenue, Wallingford, CT 06492 or St. James United Methodist Church, 4661 Porter Road, Niagara Falls, NY. 14305-3309.

Funeral services will be held
Friday morning in Washington
D. C. for a former Lockport man
and his wife killed Saturday night
in an auto accident near their
home in Springfield, Ill.
William Morrow Benton, 38. a
1941 graduate of Lockport High
School, and his wife, the former
Mary Catherine Prudy, also 38. of
Washington, D. C, are survived
by three children, Kathy, 15, Barbara,
14, and William Jr., 11.
Mr. Barker left Lockport in 1941
to join the armed forces. After
the war, he and his wife lived in
the Lockport and the Barker area
until they moved to Maryland
eight years ago. Last February,
they moved to their Springfield
home. Mr. Benton is survived also by
his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Hugh
M. Benton, now of Barker, and
three brothers, Robert, of Barker,
the Rev. Benson, of Eden, Paul,
of Tonawanda, and John, of Lock-
port, as well as a sister. Miss
Sarah Benton of Philadelphia.
Mrs. Benton is survived by her
mother, Mrs. Estelle M. Purdy, of
Washington, brothers Nicholas,
Ray, and John, and sisters, Dora
Mae and Shirley.
Friends may call Thursday af-
ternoon or evening at the Sim-
mons Bros. Funeral Home on
Good Hope Rd. S. E. near Min-
neapolis Ave., Washington.
The Friday morning services
will be held at the St. Francis
Xavier Church on Pennsylvania
Ave., Washington. Burial will be in
Cedar Hill National Cemetery at
Sitan, Md.

Paul Benton of North Tonawanda, age 83, passed away March 11, 2014, at Niagara Hospice House in Lockport. Mr. Benton was born August 20, 1930 in Walton, NY, son of the late Hugh and Mary Benton. Mr. Benton graduated from Lockport High School and attended Houghton College, University of Buffalo and Erie Community College. Mr. Benton worked for the Wurlitzer Company and for Columbus McKinnon where he retired from in 1991 as a design engineer. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War and was awarded the Combat Infantry Badge. Mr. Benton was a member of Payne Ave. Christian Church where he served as a Deacon, an Elder and a Board Member. His interests included boating. He was a member and past commander of Swiftwater Power Squadron, former member of LaSalle Yacht Club, Buffalo Launch Club and Miata Car Club. Mr. Benton was also a member of Master Builder Masonic Lodge #911 and Elks Lodge #820. Mr. Benton is survived by his wife of 59 years, Leah Ruth (nee Schultz) Benton of North Tonawanda; father of Ross E. (Susan) Benton of North Tonawanda and Ruth E. (William) Benton-Misko of Wheatfield; grandfather of Rebecca M. Benton, Paul S. Benton, Sarah A. (Scott) Welker and Rachel M. Misko; great-grandfather of Mason Lewis; brother of Benson A. (Florence) Benton, Sarah Benton (Roger) Fricke, John T. (June) Benton and the late Robert and late William Benton; also survived by nieces and nephews.
