Carl G. Benz, age 86 years, died at
the home of his daughter, Mrs. John
Strebe, No. 4 Washington Street,
Middleport, this morning. Surviving
are his three sons, William and
Charles Benz of Medina, and Fred
Benz of Oakfield; two daughters.Mrs.
August Krauss of Medina and Mrs.
John Strebe of Middleport, and sixteen
grandchildren. The funeral will
be held at the residence at Middleport
Thursday afternoon at two
o'clock. Burial at Mountain Ridge
Cemetery.

Mary Strebe, 72, died yesterday morning
at her home In Washington street
after a long Illness. She leaves one
son and three daughters, Mrs. J. B.

Mrs. Strebe was born in Germany
and came to this country when about
14 years old. She resided In Middleport
for about 35 years. Her husband,
' John Strebe, died about four
years ago. She was a member of the
German Lutheran church at Medina.
Funeral services will be held tomorrow
afternoon at 1:30 o'clock at
the Richardson and Knuebel funeral
home, State street with burial in
Royalton Mountain Ridge cemetery.
The Rev. Theodore Kuehner, pastor
of the German Lutheran church, of
Medina, will officiate.

Saturday in the hospital.
Mrs. Baker was the wife of

Born in the Town of Barre, she
was married in 1912. She was a
member of St. John's Episcopal
Church here and was active In
church affairs. Surviving besides

BENZ-Carl D. Benz, 64, of the Town of Wheatfield, Tuesday (Jan.21, 1975) at Roswell Park Memorial Institute after a length illness. Mr. Benz was a member of Holy Ghost Lutheran Church, former Elder and Trustee of the church, a member of the Lutheran Layman's League, and former area supervisor of Hooker Chemical Co.
He is survived by his wife, Ann (nee) Benz; a daughter, Mrs. Roger (Mary Ann) Haseley of the Town of Wheatfield; a son, William N. Benz, at home and four grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the Fretthold Funeral Home, Inc., 1241 Oliver St., at Ward Rd., North Tonawanda from 7 to 9 this evening and Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Services will be held in Holy Ghost Lutheran Church Friday at 10 A.M. Interment in Holy Ghost Lutheran Cemetery. If so desired, memorials may be made to the Holy Ghost Lutheran Church Building Fund

Ruth Nudd van Horn of Middleport, NY passed away on Saturday February 10, 2018 at home. Born on March 31, 1924 in Middleport, she was the daughter of Joshua and Alaina Strebe Nudd. Ruth was an Executive Secretary to Controller and Assistant Controller at Harrison Radiator, retiring in 1979.
 
On May 20, 1996, Ruth was predeceased by her husband, Stanley H. van Horn and also her brother, Arnold Bruce Nudd. She is survived by nieces, Virginia V. Schmidt (Henry), Jennifer Pratt and Claudia Gindraux and grand nieces and grand nephews, Donna V. Voss (Christian), Virginia S. Barry (Cory), Victoria S. Gleason (James), Vanessa C. Schmidt and Henry W. Schmidt III (Rebecca).

Mary Ann Haseley, 46, a teacher's aide for BOCES in Sanborn for many years, died Monday (Sept. 25, 1995) in her home on Schultz Street after a long illness.
The former Mary Ann Benz was born in Niagara Falls and graduated from Niagara-Wheatfield Central High School.
Mrs. Haseley worked at the Board of Cooperative Educational Services in Sanborn as a teacher's aide for several years.
She enjoyed gardening, the outdoors and crafts and was a lifelong member of Holy Ghost Lutheran Church.
Survivors include her husband, Roger W.; her mother, Anna Benz of Wheatfield; a daughter, Beth Henry of Cambria; a son, Matthew of Sanborn; a brother, William of Wilson; and two grandchildren.
Services will be held at 11 A.M. Wednesday in Holy Ghost Lutheran Church, 2436 Niagara Road. Burial will be in Holy Ghost Lutheran Cemetery.

Coroner James W. Heary today
issued a certificate of accidental
death in the case of a 5 1/2-year-old
boy who died shortly after being
hit by a truck in the Lockport-
Youngstown road in Ransonvrllle
yesterday.
Meanwhile, three other persons
were,under treatment in local hospitals
today for injuries received in
two other traffic accidents yesterday.
The,boy, Douglas M. White, son
of Mr. and Mrs. Martin White, Ran-
somvllle, was. struck by a truck
driven by John Vrooman, 786 River
road. Lewiston. He died of a fractured
skull while en route in an ambulance
to Memorial hospital here.
No Charges Made
Vrooman told state police that the
boy dashed from behind an eastbound
car and Into the path of his
truck, which was traveling west on
the Lockport-Youngstown road. Although
Vrooman swerved his truck
so sharply that It went off the road,
he was unable to avoid hitting the
boy. No charge was laid against
Vrooman.
Two Canadian women were under
treatment at Memorial hospital today
after being Injured when the
car In which they were passengers
failed to make the turn from River
road into Buffalo avenue early today
and hit a telephone pole.
The Injured women are Mrs. J. A.
Corrigan, 57, of Montreal, Que., who
suffered a fractured right shoulder
and shock, and Mrs. W. A. Clark. 31,
of Aldershot, Ont. who suffered contusions
and shock. The driver of
the oar, John 8. Corrigan, 18. of
Montreal, was not hospitalized.
Pedestrian Injured
Felix Narodowski. 68, of 2413 Monroe
avenue, was under treatment In
Mt. St. Mary's hospital today for a
possible bact Injury. He was injured
when he walked into the right
side of a car driven by Stanley
Owwsinski. 37, of 455 Twenty-fourth
street, at Niagara and Twentyfourth
streets yesterday.
Funeral services for the White
boy will be held at 3 pm. Saturday
at the home, Lockport road. Ransomvllle,
and Interment will be In
West Shelby.
He is survived by his parents.

Nicholas Benz left this world on Tuesday, November 14, 2023 at the age of 50.
Nicholas grew up in Bergholz and attended Niagara-Wheatfield High School.  For years, he was employed as a Mason and Concrete Worker for various firms in the Niagara Falls area.  Nicholas was a gentle man and a lover of all animals.
Nicholas is survived by his father and mother, Bill and Sherry Benz; his special uncle, Jimmy Zetes; his brother Bill (Pamela) Benz of Atlanta, GA; his nephew, Colin Benz, his niece Caitlin Benz; his sister, Callie Benz of Portland, OR, as well as his cousins that he held near to his heart, Scott and Beth Henry of Cambria, NY.  He was predeceased by his biological mother, Karen (Zetes) Benz.
