George F. Benzino, fifty years old.
died suddenly at his home, 301 Broad
street, early this morning. Stricken
with heart failure at 11 o'clock last
night, he died at 2 o'clock.
While on a fishing trip to Port Mait
land, Ont., last week symptoms of
heart disease developed and he was
forced to seek medical attention sev
eral times before arriving home. Ben-
zino's condition was not consider-
ed serious, however, until a short time
before his death.
Benzino was born in Buffalo. He
came to the Tonawandas to reside
nineteen years ago. During, his resi-
dence here, he was engaged most of
the time in the produce and grocery;
business. He had conducted stores in
various parts of the Tonawandas, his
last location being at 18 Young street.
He was a member of Tonawandas
Aerie, F.O.E.; Swift Water Tribe,
Redman; Gratwick Tent, K.O.T.M.,
and the Eldredge Bicycle Club.
Surviving are a wife, two sons,
Frank W. and George J. Benzino; two
daughters, Mrs. Franklin Diedrich and
Miss Melva C. Benzino; a mother, Mrs.
A. L. Frost of Erie, Pa., a brother,
Charles Benzino of North Tonawanda,
and two sisters, Mrs. Hattie B. Mills,
of Boston, Mass., and Mrs. John Hana-
van of Buffalo.
The funeral will be held Tuesday
afternoon.

Passed away peacefully at age 80 in Dublin, Ohio on Wednesday October 26, 2022. He leaves behind a daughter, Lori (Craig) Ryan and two granddaughters, Natalie and Chloe Ryan. He is the son of the late George and Dorothy Benzino. Walter was born in Tonawanda and a longtime resident of North Tonawanda. He was a 1961 graduate of North Tonawanda High School and after high school proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. He retired from Delphi Thermal Systems in Lockport where he worked as a welder for close to 30 years. He had been an active member of the Ken-Ton Masonic Lodge, Buffalo Scottish Rite Consistory and Ismailia Temple. He enjoyed deer hunting in his younger days and participated in trap shooting leagues for many years at the Tonawanda’s Sportsman’s Club. He loved attending church and was a lifetime member of First Presbyterian Church where he served as an elder, usher and went to adult Sunday school. His hobbies included bicycling, playing golf, attending Buffalo Bandit games, listening to music and ballroom dancing. The family would like to especially thank Sunrise of Dublin for their exceptional care for Walter over the last 6 years and Capital City Hospice for the care and support during his final days. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, November 1, 2022 from 2 - 6 PM at JOHN O. ROTH FUNERAL HOME, INC., 25 William St. (between Morgan and Broad Sts) in Tonawanda, where a Funeral Service will be conducted on Wednesday, November 2, 2022 at 10 AM. Everyone is welcome to attend. Burial will follow in Elmlawn Cemetery. Flowers are gratefully declined. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in Walter’s name. FacebookTwitterredditWilliam A. Carroll II, 64, of Bradenton, Florida, lost his battle to cancer on Saturday, June 27, 2020. He was surrounded by loved ones in the comfort of his home. He was born to parents William and June Carroll on July 6, 1955, in North Tonawanda, New York.
Bill graduated from Niagara Wheatfield and attended Niagara County Community College. He moved to Texas, then California, where he worked in new housing development doing roofing and siding. It's there he met the love of his life, Jane. They were married in 1989, moved back to Niagara Falls, NY, in 1996 where they finished raising their children. In 2012 they started spending time in Florida as snowbirds. They moved permanently to Bradenton, Florida, in 2016.
Bill is survived by his wife, Jane (Mochel) Carroll; his daughters, Kristy and Breana Carroll; sisters, Deena (Pedro) Garcia, Debra Bertrand, Bonny (Anthony, Sr.) Testa; and brother, Timothy (Andrea) Carroll. He is also survived by a number of aunts, cousins, nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his parents, William and June Carroll; his sister, Tamara (Stefano) Fisher; and brother-in-law, Jess Bertrand.
Bill will be remembered as a devoted husband, an adoring father, a talented carpenter and a good friend. During his 16-month battle with cancer, his inner strength, courage and determination shone through. We are so proud of him and will miss him every day. We'd like to thank all our friends and family for the outpouring of love and support this difficult time.
Due to the corona virus, his Celebration of Life will be postponed to a later date when everyone can gather safely.

Obituary of Tamara Fisher

Tamara S. “Tammy” Fisher 58 of Ransomville, NY wife of Stephano J. Fisher entered into rest at home on Saturday December 29, 2018.
Born in Niagara Falls, NY on June 14, 1960 she was the daughter of the late William and the late June Benzino Carroll. Tammy attended and graduated from Niagara Wheatfield High School, she married Stephano J. Fisher on September 28, 1991. Tammy was a great cook, a loving wife to her husband and a great mother to her children. She enjoyed designing and producing her own clothing.
 
Surviving is her husband; Stephano; three sons Austin Fisher, Tyler Fisher and Brandon Fisher;
her three sisters Deena (Pedro) Garcia, Bonnie Sykes and Debbie Betrand; a brother William (Jane) Carroll and a twin brother Tim (Andrea) Carroll. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
 
NO PRIOR VISITATION. A Memorial Service will be held THURSDAY (Jan,3) at 11:00 am at the Ransomville Free Methodist Church, 3924 Ransomville Rd., Ransomville, NY 14131 with Pastor William Lowery officiating.

Obituary

Christine (Chrissy) Marie Snyder-Watkins, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 14, 2023. 
She was born on June 14, 1978 in North Tonawanda, NY and graduated from Tonawanda High School. Chrissy went on to attend Alfred University, where she was Chapter President of the Delta Zeta Sorority. She graduated in 2000 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology.
In 2007 she married Timothy Watkins of Towanda, PA and welcomed their son Brady in 2012. Nothing brought Chrissy more joy than being a doting mom to Brady. 
She was proud of her 23 year career as a social worker in early childhood intervention, most recently working for the Monroe County Department of Health in Rochester, NY. 
She is survived by her caring husband Tim, her son Brady, her parents Glenn and Pam Snyder, her loving brother Eric and fur baby Rocky. 
She is also survived by her in-laws, Carl and Jean Watkins, Brothers in law Craig (Kristina) Watkins, Mike (Terri) Watkins, many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, godparents, and godchild, Kaitlyn Harden.
Chrissy has a beautiful soul and was a comforting presence to all who loved her, including many lifelong friends. 
She is predeceased by her grandparents and great grandparents. 
Visiting hours will be held at Fretthold and Hamp Funeral Home, located at 37 Adam Street in Tonawanda, on Friday May 19th from 3pm - 7pm.A funeral service to celebrate her life will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, May 20, at Salem Church of Christ, 114 Morgan Street, in Tonawanda.
