    Clifton Springs. Dec. 9 - Coroner
    L. P. Conley of this village will con-
    duct an inquest Thursday at 9
    o'clock into the death of James
    Cornell, 7 year old son of Mr. and
    Mrs. Ross Cornell of the Phelps-
    Clifton Springs Road. The boy
    was struck late today by an auto-
    mobile driven by C. Ballard of
    Canandaigua, R. D. and died in
    the Clifton Springs Sanitarium two
    hours later.
    Young Cornell was returning
    home from schooll this afternoon
    and was walking along the Clifton
    Springs Phelps Road when Bal-
    lard's car approached. According
    to Ballard's report to the coroner,
    the boy darted across the road into
    the path of his car, moving at a
    25-mile an hour speed. Ballard
    took the boy to the sanitarium
    here, where he died. an autopsy
    performed by Dr. W. S. Thomas re-
    vealed death due to fractured
    skull. Ballard was not held, but
    will appear at the inquest Thurs-
    day.
