Blodgett Dewey, 80, of Auburn,
mother of John Dewey of Newark,
died Wednesday (Nov. 13) at the
Auburn Nursing Home.
There are no prior calling hours
The funeral will be at 2 p.m.

Presbyterian Church, William
Street, Auburn. Burial will be in
Soule Cemetery, Auburn. The Rev.
Barbara Sterling Willson will officiate.
Memorial contributions may be
made to Westminster Presbyterian
Church.

Mrs. Dewey was born Aug. 15,
1905, in Stratford, Ontario,
daughter of Nelson and Jessie
Htndman Kemp. She was a 1926
graduate of Syracuse University.
She taught math and French in
Auburn High School from 1928 until
her retirement in 1972.
She was a member of the French
C l u b and the Westminster
Presbyterian Church She was the
widow of Loyal Blodgett, who died
in 1941, and Harold Dewey, who
died in 1952.
Surviving are two sons, Richard
of Wilton, Conn., and London,
England, and John of Newark; two
brothers, Nelson Kemp of Winfield.
Ala., and Thomas Kemp of
Erie, Pa.; one sister, Mary Alice
Kemp of Erie, Pa.; five grandchildren;
and several nieces and
nephews.
Helen married BLODGETT, Loyal L on 14 Aug 1929 in Fredonia, Chautauqua County, NY. Loyal (son of BLODGETT, Joseph Abram and Jessie) was born about 1902 in New York; died on 21 Jan 1941 in Auburn, Cayuga County, NY. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
