BLOOMSTINE - W. Gerald
Bloomstine, 62, of 45 Syracuse St.,
Tonawanda, died Saturday eve-
ning (June 15, 1957) in Detroit,
Mich., while visiting his sister,
Mrs. John Winship. Born in Tonawanda,
Mr. Bloomstine was a
life-long resident of the city and
had operated his own barbershop
before retiring two years ago. He
was a member of St. Francis
Church. Besides Mrs. Winship, he
is survived by another sister, Mrs.
William J. Rogers of Tonawanda;
three nephews, William J. Rog-
ers MD. of the Town of Tona-
wanda, John G. Rogers DDS, of
Williamsville, and Thomas Win-
ship of Detroit, Mich., and a niece,
Mrs. Anthony Fricano of Lock-
port, N. Y. The late John Bloom-
stine was a brother. Friends may
call at the Hamp Funeral Home,
37 Adam St., Tonawanda, where
services will be held Wednesday
morning at 8:45, followed by a
Requiem High Mass in St. Francis
Church. The Rev. Wilbur Yaeger
will officiate. Friends are invited.

John G. W. Bloomstine, 41, of
506 Delaware street, Tonawanda,
died early today at the Buffalo
General hospital following a prolonged
illness. He was born and
has lived in Tonawanda all his
life. He is survived by his mother,
Mrs. Catherine, nee Kock; one
brother, Gerald of Tonawanda;
two sisters, Mrs. William J. Rogers,
Tonawanda, and Mrs. John
Winship, Detroit, Funeral services
will be held Monday at 8:30 a.m.
from the late residence and 9 a.m.
from St. Francis Church. The Very
Rev. John A, Weismantel will officiate.
Burial will be at Elmlawn.
Mr. Bloomstine Is a graduate of
Ton-wanda high school, class of
1917, and Syracuse University,
class of 1923.

Katherine Ann Rogers Fricano passed away, Wednesday March 4, 2015. Born on June 9, 1931 in North Tonawanda, she was the daughter of the late William J. Sr. and Myrtle V. Bloomstine Rogers. Katherine received her Master's Degree from Buffalo State College, and taught in Lockport City Schools for over 20 years as an Elementary School Art Teacher. She enjoyed the arts and tailoring clothing. Katherine married her late husband, Anthony Fricano in 1952, who passed away October 16, 2008. Katherine is survived by her children, Amy J. (Robert M. Graff) Fricano of Lockport, David A. (Shelly) Fricano of Pendleton and Karen A. Fricano of Lockport; grandmother of five; she is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Friends may call Sunday 1-5 PM at Prudden & Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee Street, Lockport. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday at 11 AM in St. John the Baptist RC Church, 168 Chestnut Street, Lockport. Interment will be in Queen of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations to Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Drive, Lockport, NY 14094 would be appreciated by the family.

Karen Fricano Obituary


Of  Lockport, NY, passed away on  Wednesday, February 28, 2024, in Our Lady of Peace, Lewiston, NY.
She  was born in Kenmore, NY on December 13, 1960, a daughter of the late Anthony and Katherine [Rogers] Fricano.
Karen graduated from Starpoint and Niagara County Community College with her degree in Nursing.  She was a Registered Nurse with various hospitals in Rochester, Warsaw and Batavia, before retiring.
Karen is survived by her children Casey R. (Kasi Leigh) Brown and Mollie B. (Joseph) Mitchel, Jr., two grandchildren Iella and Durin Brown, a sister Amy (Robert Graff) Fricano, a brother David A. (Shelly) Fricano, also many nieces,nephews and cousins.
A celebration of her life will be held at a time to be announced.
