N. Bidwell, age 90 of
Caravelle Dr., Niagara Falls, died
Wednesday, January 9, 2002, in
the Crestwood Health Care Center
in Niagara Falls after a brief
illness.
Mr. Bidwell was born November
25, 1911 in Belfast, NY, the
son of the late Eugene and
Veronica Mae (Hall) Bidwell and
has resided in Niagara Fali for
the past 60 years. He was the
widower of Beryl Etta (Jones)
Bidwell who died March 30,
1985. He attended Alfred University
and Ithaca College. Mr.
Bidwell was a General Superintendent,
employed by H.F. Darling
Construction Co. in
Williamsville for 25 years retiring
December 31, 1976. He
worked in the construction industry
his whole life.
Mr. Bidwell was a 60 year
member of the Niagara-Genesee
Carpenters/Millwright Union
Local No. 280 in Lockport, and a
58 year member of Niagara Frontier
Lodge No. 132 F&AM. For
many years he coached girls
softball and basketball programs
for Riverside Presbyterian
ChurchLeagues. Hewasactive
in the Niagara Falls YMCA
where he enjoyed swimming
and loved traveling the world as
well as being an avid fisherman.
Mr. Bidwell is survived by a
daughter, Sandra (David)
Maslen of Lewiston; a sister,
Edna Gigee of Wellsville, NY; a
brother Wayne (Dorothy)
Bidwell of Belmont, NY; and six
step-grandchildren, Sherry
Castagner, Gerry Pardee, Ricky,
Patricia, Michael, and Deanna
Maslen. He was predeceased
by three brothers, Clifford,
Merritt, and Lyle Bidwell; one
sister, Opal McArdle; and a
grandson, Kenneth Mort.
Friends called Friday from 2-
4 and 7-9 pm at the Hardison
Funeral Home, N. Fourth and
Ridge Streets, Lewiston where
Niagara Frontier Lodge No. 132
F&AM conducted a Masonie
Service at 7:30 pm. Funeral services
were held Saturday, January
12, 2002 at 11:00 am in the
funeral home with the Rev.
Charles LaPlaca officiating.
Burial will be private at the convenience
of the family in the
Oakland Rural Cemetery,
Youngstown.
