He retired in 1960 from the

Mr. Bowler served in the U.S. Navy from 1944 – 1946 and was a Manufacturing Engineer at Harrison Radiator for 36 years, retiring in 1983. He was a long time member of Christ Community Church, active in Society of Manufacturing Engineers, Niagara County Historical Society, Lockport Woodworkers’ Club and the Dale Association.
 
Predeceased by his wife, Catherine Billman Bowler; daughter, Ann Marie Bowler and brother, Donald C. Bowler. Survived by his children, Thomas Bowler and June (John) Knudsen; five grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Bruce M. Seeloff passed away on February 17, 2014 in Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital, Amherst. Born in North Tonawanda on November 7, 1930, he was the son of Frederick and Edith (Bowler) Seeloff.
Bruce served in the Army during the Korean War. He worked for the City of Lockport for 33 years where he was a fireman retiring as a Lieutenant in 1986. He was a member of the Lock City Firefighter Association, IAFF #963 and enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and working on model RR.
Bruce is survived by his wife of 58 years, Elaine (Sharpe) Seeloff of Lockport; father of Michael (Debbie) Seeloff, Jacqueline Sas, Terri (Donald) Sherman and Mark Seeloff, all of Lockport; grandfather of Michael (Eunice) Seeloff, Craig (Michele) Sherman, Christopher (Beth) Sherman, Andrew (Samantha) Heschke, Tiffany Seeloff, Alexandria Seeloff, Joel Heschke, Andrea Seeloff, Lisa (Robert) Szpilewski, Jennifer (Randy) Sullivan, Rene (Andy) Breen and Nathan Sherman; great-grandfather of Haliegh Seeloff, Patrick Sherman, Madeleine Sherman, Makaleigha Sherman, Melissa Sherman, Delilah Heschke, Tyler and Conner Sullivan and Morgan and Kennedy Szpilewski; brother of the late Norval and George Seeloff. He was a Barker High School graduate class of 1954 and worked at Republic Aviation, Farmingdale Electrician, Bell Air Craft, College Inn, E & R Machine and retired from Harrison Radiator. David was a member of the Rapids Rod & Gun Club, the Iroquois Arms, and past member of the Hartland Conservation Club. He was predeceased by his wife Francine (Zinzi) Bowler on December 27, 2005. David is the brother of Roger Bowler of Alexander, NY, Betsey (Wayne) Pulver of Glendale, AZ, Rebecca (late Fred) Austin of Gasport and late Dennis Bowler; uncle of Roger (Belinda) Bowler, Jr., Steven C. Bowler, Daniel (Rene) Bowler, Robin Bowler, Neil Pulver, Scott Rocca, Arthur Mauriello, Ruth Ann Schiavetta and late Susan Austin and Laura Jean Bowler; survived by several cousins, several great nieces and nephews and several great-great nieces and nephews. He was also predeceased by his step mother Arlene Bowler and two great nieces, Diana Bowler and Stephanie Bowler. Roger A. Bowler Sr., 87, passed away on April 7th at the Orchard Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Medina NY. Born September 18, 1936, in Lockport, NY, he was the son of Arthur and Anna Ruth (Beccue) Bowler.

He is survived by three sons: Roger Bowler Jr. (Belinda) of Ozark MO, Steven Bowler of Lockport and Robin Bowler of Charlotte NC; two sisters: Betsey Pulver (Wayne) of Glendale AZ and Rebecca “Becky” Austin (late Fred) of Gasport; grandchildren, great grandchildren, and nephews; and his long-time partner Eleanor Dugan.

He was predeceased by one daughter, Lorie Bowler, and one son, Daniel E. Bowler; two brothers, David Bowler and Dennis Bowler; two grandaughters: Diana Rose Bowler and Stephanie Marie Bowler; and his step-mother Arlene (Till) Bowler.

Roger, who attended Lockport and Barker Schools, was an accomplished automotive mechanic. He also worked at Diamond Alkali and Harrison Radiator, where he retired after many years.

Judith M. Nerber passed away on July 22, 2014 in Niagara Hospice House. Born in Lockport on November 5, 1941 she was the daughter of Leo and Mildred (Chapman) Weaver. Judith enjoyed gardening, playing BINGO, going out for dinner, cats and especially enjoyed spending time and being with her family.

GASPORT — Susan Denise Austin, age 38, of Gasport, went home to be with her Lord, Monday, March 21, 2011, at her home, surrounded by her loving family, after fighting a courageous battle with ovarian cancer. Born March 23, 1972 in Medina, she was the daughter of Rebecca Sue (Bowler) Austin and the late Fred T. Austin.

Susan was a 1990 graduate of Barker Central Schools. She worked on the Barker Alumni Committee and had attended her 20th class reunion this past summer. She was also a charter member of the Community Fellowship Church at Johnson Creek. Sue enjoyed planting flower gardens and loved to watch and feed the hummingbirds. She also enjoyed cooking for family gatherings. Sue enjoyed collecting donations from organizations and businesses for fellow patients at Sisters of Charity Hospital. She had worked as a cook at the Waters of Gasport for 10 years; previously she had worked at Jubilee in Lockport, the Best Western and Comfort Inn in Lockport, and Murph’s Stop 31 in Medina.

She is survived by her loving mother, Rebecca Sue (Bowler) Austin. Dearest sister of Robert and Clyde Austin of Lockport, David “Joe” Austin of Colorado, Richard and Carl Austin of Barker, Neil Austin of Appleton, Patricia Bailey of Portville, Jane Guinn of Middleport, Scott Rocca of Pennsylvania and the late Norman Austin. She is survived by three uncles and two aunts: David Bowler of Lockport, Roger Bowler of Alexander, Wayne (Betsey) Pulver of Arizona, Bunny Austin of Youngstown and the late Dennis Bowler. Several nieces, nephews, cousins and her dog, Princess also survive her.

Family and friends are invited to attend visitation at the Sherrie-Bream Funeral Home, 4521 Main Street, Gasport, on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Friday, March 25, 2011 at 11:00 AM, with the Reverend Roy Harriger officiating. Interment will be in Hartland Central Cemetery, Gasport. Heschke passed away on Friday June 21, 2024.  Born in Newfane on January 2, 1992, he was the son of Terri (nee Seeloff) Sherman and Rex Heschke.  Joel worked for various landscaping and construction companies in the Lockport area.  He enjoyed working on cars and spending time with his family especially his children.
Beside his parents, Joel is survived by his daughter, MelodyMarie Heschke and son Leland Heschke.  His also survived by his brothers, Andrew Heschke and Randy (Stepanie) Heschke and nieces, Delilah and Alivia Heschke.
