WEST LAFAYETTE, IN — Mary Jane Lenz Barr, 74, of West Lafayette, IN, died February 2, 2011 at her residence. Born November 15, 1936 in Niagara Falls, NY, she was the daughter of the late William and Cecile Roth Lenz.

She was a 1954 graduate of Niagara Falls High School and a 1978 graduate of Ivy Tech. She married William Holloway in July 1955 in Niagara Falls. Her second marriage was to Harry L. Barr on September 4, 1984, and he preceded her in death on February 21, 1997. Mrs. Barr was an L.P.N. at the Indiana Veteran’s Home for 22 years before retiring in 1998. She then worked at McAllister Recreational Center. She was a member of VFW Auxiliary and enjoyed bowling and playing cards.

Surviving are three daughters, Patricia Beck (husband, Timothy) of Pendleton, Diana Holloway of Pittsboro, IN and Tammy Kerr of Brookston, IN; a step-daughter, Cynthia Stogsdill; a sister, Nancy Haviland of Niagara Falls; and a brother, Edward Kelly of Colorado Springs, CO. Three granddaughters and three step-granddaughters also survive. She was preceded in death by two sisters, JoAnn D’Aloise and Patricia Lenz.

Visitation from 3 PM to service at 4:30 PM on Tuesday at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens Chapel. Celebrant, Carla Ellis officiating. The family suggests memorial contributions be sent to the American Lung or Cancer Society.

Patricia Ann Lenz, 2H-year-old
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William
H. Lenz, 420% Seventh street, died
yesterday afternoon in Memorial
hospital at burns- wtrtctrsrnrsuffered
yesterday morning in her home.
Funeral services will be held tomorrow
afternoon at 2:30 o'clock in the
Cobler funeral home. 640 Park place,
with Dr. Arthur H. Schmoyer, of the
Zlon Evangelical Lutheran church,
officiating. Burial will be ln Oakwood
cemetery.
The child was burned yesterday
morning at 10 o'clock and was rushed
to Memorial hospital just as
her mother was being discharged
after having been treated for illness.
Hospital attendants quoted
the father as saying that while he
was busy preparing breakfast the
little girl arose from bed and picked
up a match which she struck.
The flame ignited her clothing and
when her father reached her her
clothing was ablaze. He wrapped
her in a rug.

NIAGARA FALLS - Nancy Jean Haviland, age 72, of Niagara Falls, passed from this life on Sunday, March 23, 2014, at her home. She as born in Niagara Falls, NY on November 28, 1941, a daughter of the late William and Cecil (Roth) Lenz.

Nancy attended local schools, graduated from Niagara Falls High School and was employed as a Nurse Assistant at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center. She was a loving and devoted mother and companion, and will be sadly missed by her family and friends.

Survivors include her son, Ronald Joseph (Lisa) Allan of Las Vegas, NV; siblings, Joanne Deloise and Ed Roth; grandchildren, Patrick Pryor and Paige and Brandon Allan; and longtime companion, Harry Richards.

There will be no prior visitation. Private services and burial will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements by LANE FUNERAL HOME, INC.
