    were held for H. Eugene Branch at
    the Wright's Corners Presbyter'an
    church at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon
    and interment was made in the
    Wrights Corners cemetery. Mr.
    Branch died in East Aurora, N. Y.,
    •where he has been living for some
    time. He was born and reared In
    North Niagara county. He leaves to
    mourn him, his wife, Lottie, three

    Funeral services were held yes-
    terday afternoon for William E
    Branch, commission merchant and
    produce dealer, at his home on the
    Hess road, town of Newfane, and
    burial was in Wright's Corners
    cometTV. The death of Mr. Branch
    last Thursday removed one of the
    best known and most prominent
    fruit dealers of the Niagara fruit
    belt of a few years aeo.
    Mr. Branch had been engaged in
    the commission business for the past
    forty years, and during that time
    was one of the biggest operators in
    this part of the country, the fruit
    bearing his labels going to practically
    every part of the United States
    and Canada and foreign countries.
    He retired from active business
    about a year ago and had been in
    failing health for several months.
    He was born on the Hess road, on
    a farm about a mile from the home
    where he passed away Thursday.
    His parents were pioneer residents
    of the town of Newfane. When he
    was two years old, they removed to
    Michigan, but returned to Niagara
    county when Mr. Branch was fifteen
    He engaged In farming for a short
    time and then entered the commission
    business.
    Operated in Lockport.
    At various times he maintained
    offices in Lockport, Newfane and
    Gasport, and at one time was in
    business with a son. In the ownership
    and operation of a cold storage
    plant at the latter place. He
    deail chiefly in apples, shipping
    many thousands of barrels from this
    counts-, but in the Sprina and early
    summer mon'hs he made annual
    trips through the south as the representative
    of the C. C. Taft company
    of Des Moines, Iowa, buying
    strawberries, tomatoes and other
    fruit and produce. He was weD
    known from Virginia to Texas.
    He was a member of the Tuscarora
    Club of this city, the Macabeee
    and a former member of Lock-
    I port Lodge. B. P. O Elks. Funeral
    services were conducted by Rev.
    Charles B. Bates, pastor of the Free
    Methodist church of this city, where
    Mr Branch was an attendant.
    The bearers were. Dennis W. Daly,
    John F. LeVan and Tomothy J.
    OShaughnessy of this city and Benjamin
    Richards. William Shaw and
    William Cole of Newfane.
    He leaves his widow, Martha L.
    Branch, two sons. Ohm W, and
    Charles W. Branch, and four daughters.
    Mae and Ora L. all of Newfane.
    Mrs. William Wuth and Mrs.
    Paul Sutton of this city. and three
    sisters Mrs Wesley Church Miami.
    Fla, Mrs Burt Demerest Lockport
    and Mrs Fred Brauer, Buffalo and
    nine grandchildren.

    Mrs. Viola Clementine Demorest,
    67, wife of Burton C. Demorest,
    died at 2:30 o'clock yesterday morning
    at the home of her daughter,
    Mrs. Florence Rickard, 33 Millar
    place, after a brief illness with
    heart disease. The funeral will be
    held at 2:30 o'clock tomorrow afternoon
    in the home and at 3 o'clock
    in Plymouth Congregational church.
    Burial will be in Wright's Corners
    cemetery.
    Born in Ionia. Mich., on April 6,
    1867, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
    Hardin Branch, Mrs. Demorest
    came to Niagara county with her
    parents in her youth. She had lived
    in Lockport nineteen years ago. She
    would have been married 48 years
    on April 6.
    Besides her husband and daughter
    she leaves a grandson, Robert
    Rickard of Lockport and two sisters,
    Mrs. Wesley Church of Miami, Fla.,
    and Mrs. Fred Brauer of Buffalo.

    Thursday night In an automobile

    to a telegram received today by his
    brother. William E. Branch of the
    Hess road, town of Newfane The
    body will not be brought here but
    will be buried in Florida.
    The telegram was sent by J.
    Weldon Branch who was in business
    with his father under the firm
    name J L Branch and Son. They
    had been in Starke several weeks
    for the strawberry season.
    A blowout in a tire was given by
    the son as the cause of the accident
    in which an automobile driven
    by the elder'Branch went through
    a wire fence and turned over
    twice. Mr Branch wa,s alone in the
    automobile and was killed almost
    instantly, the telegram stated.
    None of the relatives here will
    attend the funeral because it would
    be impossible for them to reach
    Florida in time unless they traveled
    by airplane
    The telegram sent bv the son from
    Starke. Fla . follows
    While father driving in country
    tire blew out. Car turned over twice.
    he dying almost instantly He was

    Jay L. Branch, 69 years old. well
    known throughout Niagara county
    as a fruit and produce buyer, was
    killed last night near Lake Butler,
    Fla- as bis automobile left the highway,
    went through a wire fence and
    turned over twice.
    First news of the accident reached
    Lockport at 10.30 o'clock last night,
    when a long distance telephone
    message came to the Hotel Kenmore.
    The management of the
    hotel was asked to notify relatives
    and the Lockport lodge of Elks, of
    which Mr. Branch was a member.
    William E Branch of the Hess
    road, town of Newfane, a brother,
    was reached by telephone and came
    here this morning to telegraph to
    Weldcn Branch, a son of Jay
    Branch, at Plant City, Fla., requesting
    frrtner details. He said that
    Lake Butler was about seventy miles
    from Plant City, where his brother
    had been spending the winter.
    Jay Branch was born in Michigan
    on November 18, 1860, but came to
    Niagara county with his parents
    when a small child. He was educated
    In the Newfane district
    schools. He entered the fruit and
    produce buying business and moved
    to this city, where he lived for many
    years in Walnut street.
    For the past several years he
    spent the winters in Florida and
    engaged in produce buying there
    with his son, under the firm name
    mt J. L. Branch and Son. He went
    south again last autumn and when
    last heard from by relatives here
    was enjoying excellent health. For
    several weeks he bad been in Starke,
    Fla.. near Late Sutler, buying
    strawberries.
    Surviving Is one son. Weldon
    Branch, of Plant City, Fla., one
    brother, William E. Branch of Newfane,
    and three sisters, Mrs. Viola
    Demerest of Olcott. Mrs. Fred C.
    Braucr of Buffalo, and Mrs. Hattie
    D. Church of Olcott, who la now at
    Miami, Fla.

    Storage. Mrs. Nellie A. Brauer. 80,
    died Monday (Jan. 27, 1959) in
    Deaconess Hospital, Buffalo,
    where she had been a patient since
    early that morning. She had been

    Mrs. Brauer also worked for her
    brother, the late J. L. Branch,
    Lockport produce dealer, before
    moving to Buffalo more than 60
    years ago.

    the daughter of the late Mr. and
    Mrs. Hiram Branch and attended
    a Methodist seminary in the state

    Fred C. Brauer. Mrs. Brauer was
    a member of the First Free Methodist
    Church, Buffalo.
    Survivors include several nieces

    Niagara Sanatorium for 15 years,
    Miss Mae I. Branch, Hess Road,
    Town of Newfane. died this morning
    at Lockport city Hospital, following
    a week's illness. 'Miss Branch
    was an active member of the Hess
    Road Wesleyan Methodist Church.
    She is survived by two brothers,
    Glenn Branch of National City.
    Colo., and Charles Branch of the
    Hess Road and two sisters, Mrs.
    William Wlrth. Oasport; Mrs. Paul

    She was born Feb. 15, 1893 in
    the Town of Newfane, daughter
    of William and Martha Bowman
    Branch. She was married
    June 24, 1915 at the Branch
    homestead, Hess Road, Town
    of Newfane. Her husband, Paul
    R. Sutton,, died Aug. 3,, 1958.
    Mrs. Sutton attended the former
    Bettinger Business School
    in Lockport, and was secretary
    to her father who was a wholesale
    produce and cold storage
    operator in Gasport for many
    years. More recently, she was
    employed in the cafeteria at De
    Sales Catholic High School.
    Mrs. Sutton was a member of
    the First Baptist Church of
    Lockport, Lockport Grange and
    Niagara County Home Depart-
    ment Extension Service.
    Survivors are a daughter,,
    Mrs. Mae Schuster and a grand-
    son, Paul Schuster of Lockport;
    three sisters, Mrs. William
    Wirth of Gasport, Mrs. Joseph
    G. Latta of Lockport, and Miss
    Ora Branch of Newfane; a brother,
    Charles Branch, Newfane;
    and several nieces and nephews.
    Friends may call at their convenience
    at the Lange Funeral
    Home, 186 East Ave., where funeral
    serfces will be held at 3
    p.m. Sunday. The family will
    be present from 2 to 5 and 7 to

    Ronald Lynn Branch, 74, passed away on November 24, 2015 surrounded by his loving family at the Niagara Hospice House. He endured several years of chronic debilitating illness.

    He retired from Harrison Radiator after 32 years. He was a long time supporter of Ransomville Speedway, for years if not fielding a car in the sportsmen ranks he could be found in the mix enjoying the atmosphere. He liked people and enjoyed socializing at local coffee shops. He will be missed by many.

    He was the son of the late Cliff and Mary Branch. He was the brother to David (Verna) Branch. He leaves behind his wife of 52 years, Judy Richards Branch. He was cherished by his daughters, Jodie (Mike) Jeffrey and Sandy (Rich) Williams; his grandchildren were the light in his life, Connor and Rachel Williams. He was also Papa Ron to Greg, Kayla and Alex Jeffrey. Ron is also a son in law to Jean Richards and the late Duane Richards and brother in law to Ron (Catherine) Richards. Family and friends may call at the RUTLAND-CORWIN FUNERAL HOME, INC., 2670 Main St., Newfane, NY on SUNDAY 2 - 7PM. A Memorial Service will be held on MONDAY at 11AM at the Hess Rd. Wesleyan Church, 2514 Hess Rd., Appleton, NY, 14008.

    In lieu of flowers, donations to Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Dr., Lockport, NY, 14094, would be appreciated by the family.
