Mrs. Alice M. Brandis, aged 90,
died November 23, in the Summit
Nursing Home, Utica, after an illness
of seven weeks. Private funeral
serevices will be held at 2 this
afternoon from the Owens Funeral
Home, Clinton, with burial in Sunset
Hill Cemetery. The Rev. W.
Graham Smith will officiate.
Alice M. Greene was born in
Brookfield, June 26, 1868, daughter
of Martin and Louisa Start Greene.
She was educated in Clinton and
attended Houghton Seminary. On
January 6, 1885, she was married
to William F. Brandis, and had been
a resident of -Franklin Springs since
then. Mr. Brandis died February
16, 1935.
Mrs. Brandiis was a member of
the Stone Presbyterian Church and
its Morrill Bible Class.
She leaves two sons, Durwood F.
and William G., both of Franklin
Springs; a brother,. M. Seymour
Greene, Syracuse; four grandchildren,
eight great-grandchildren; and
several nieces and nephews.

Alice married BRANDIS, William Frederick on 6 Jan 1885. William (son of BRANDIS, Henry W and Harriet) was born on 17 Aug 1859 in New York; died on 16 Feb 1935 in Utica, Oneida County, NY. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

Durward married HOWE, Hazel Pearle on 19 Jun 1912 in Clinton, Oneida County, NY. Hazel (daughter of HOWE, Frank and MARTIN, Cora) was born on 10 May 1890 in New York; died on 13 Dec 1975 in New Hartford, Oneida County, NY. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

Sincere sorrow was expressed in
this .community Monday, when it
was learned that Mildred Brandis
Sill had passed away at *St.
Elizabeth's Hospital after a brief
illness. Mrs. Sill was'spending the
summer with her parents Mr. and
Mrs. William F.Brandis of Franklin
Springs, which had been her
custom since her marriage.
Mrs. Sill was born in Franklin
Springs March 2, 1895, and was a
young woman possessed of unusual
charm and character. She attended
Clinton High School and
was a member of the Presbyterian
Church in this village. On Christmas
eve, 1919, she was united in
marriage with Claude C. Sill and
since that time had resided in Billings,
Mont., returning here for a
visit on several occasions.
Besides her parents and husband
she leaves a son, Donald, aged'6,
and two brothers, Durward and
William Brandis of Franklin
Springs.

William G. Brandis, 71, of Clinton. Burial in Sunset Hill
Grant road. Franklin Springs Cemetery. Friends so
died Sunday, October 2, in
Faxton Hospital after a long
illness.
He was born in Franklin
Springs, March 29, 1906, son
of William F. and Alice M.
Greene Brandis. He was
educated in Clinton schools
and in Clinton, September 24,
1927, he married Elizabeth R.
Timian. The couple have
always resided in Franklin
Springs. For many years, Mr.
Brandis was a self-employed
dairy and hop farmer, and for
over 20 years, was employed
by the Town of Kirkland
Highway Department,
retiring in 1968. He was a
member of Clinton Stone
Presbyterian Church and the
Men's Club of the Church,
and the Pioneers of America.
Besides his wife, he is
survived by one son, William
F. Brandis of Lacey.
Washington, two grandchildren.
Funeral services were held
Wednesday, October 5, from
the Owens Funeral Home,
desiring may contribute
the Heart Fund.

Durward Howe Brandis, a native
of Clinton, died Monday,
May 18, at Sequoia Hospital in
Redwood City, California, following
a heart attack. He was
48.
Mr. Brandis, the son of Mr.
and- Mrs. Durward F. Brandis
of Clinton, lived at 950 Plesanthill
road, Redwood City, for the
past eight years. He had moved
there from San Mateo, Calif.,
and was Supervisor of Training
Aids and Technical Instructor
at United Air Lines. He was a
pilot during World War II.
Mr. Brandis is survived by bis
wife, the former Patricia Anne
Thatch, and two sons, Durward
Porter and Scott Thatch, all of
Redwood City; his parents in
Clinton; and a brother, Fay William
Brandis of Smithtown.
Memorial services were held
Thursday, May 21, at the Woodside
Road Community Methodist
Church, with the Rev. D.
Cunningham officiating.
