    William T. Brandt, 85 years old.
    of 144 Canal Street, died Tuesday
    in the Lyons Hospital. He was
    born in Germany April 2, 1869 and
    came to this country when he was
    four years old. He spent his life
    farming and lived for 56 years on
    one of the VanWickle farms.
    Mr. Brandt \vas an honorary'
    member of Eureka Grange and an
    active member of St. John's Lutheran
    Church. Ten years ago the
    Brandts moved to the village. Last
    Feb. 22, Mr. and Mrs. Brandt celebrated
    their 61st^wedding anniversary'-
    Mrs.'Brandt formerly was
    Augusta Bramer. The Brandts had
    four children: Louis.'who died after
    World War i ; Anna Metz, who
    died January, 1953, Mrs. George
    Eckert, who lives in Maple Street
    and Mrs. Carl Schindler of RD 3,
    Lyons.
    Survivors" besides the widow and
    two children are a sister, Martha
    Creager of Newark; 13 grandchildren
    and 21 great-grandchildren.
    Funeral services will be held at
    2:30 p.m. Friday at St. John's
    Church, with the Rev. George
    Whitlock. pastor, officiating. The
    body will rest until then at the
    Weeks Funeral Home. Burial will
    be in the family plot in South
    Cemetery.

    Louis A. Brandt. 94, of Lockport
    - Olcott Road, Olcott, a retired
    farmer and carpenter, died
    Wednesday (Nov. 30, 1966) at.
    the Briody Nursing Home, Lock
    port.
    Mr. Brandt had been a patient
    at the nursing home since he
    suffered a fractured hip in a
    fall in the yard at his home two
    years ago.
    He was a native of Wrights
    Corners. Before his accident, he
    had spent the winters in Flori-
    da.
    Surviving are several cousins.
    Friends may call at the Rut-
    land - Corwin Funeral Home
    Inc., 2670 Main St., Newfane,
    where funeral services will be
    ehld at 1:30 p.m. tomorrow. The
    Rev. Phillip W. Mitchell, pastor
    of Olcott Methodist Church, will
    officiate.
    Burial will be in Wrights Cor
    ners Cemetery.

    NEWFANE. Aug. 26. - Funeral
    services were held on Sunday. Aug.
    ust 34, for Mrs. Herman Brandt
    aged 58. life-long Newfane resident,
    who passed away in her home on
    Thursday. August 21, following several
    weeks' illness. The Rev. Eugene
    J. Pleury, of the Methodist Episcopal
    church, where she attended,
    was the officiating clergyman. The
    bearers were Frank Miller, Edward
    B. Corwln, Fred Zimmerman, Fred
    Schwelgert, Elmer Searie and Fred
    Treadwell. Burial took place to the
    Corwln cemetery.
    She leaves besides her husband
    one brother, Lewis Brandt, of Olcott.

    K. Metz, died Jan. 28 in Strong
    Memorial Hospital, Rocheter, af-
    ter being a patient there for a
    month.
    The body was brought to the
    Frederick Bochelm & Sons Fun-
    eral Home,, 19 Jackson Street,
    where a familly prayer service
    was held at 2 p.m. Sunday fol-
    lowed by a service at 2:30 p.m.
    at St. John's Lutheran Church
    with the Rev.. George Whitock,
    pastor, officiating. Burial was in
    South Cemetery.
    Mrs. Metz was born July 12,
    1897, in Lyons, daughter of Wil-
    liam and Augusta Bremer Brandt,
    and she always lived in the town-
    ship. She was a member of the
    Ladies Aid Society and Mission-
    ary Society of St. John's Church.
    Survivors besides Mr. Metz are
    four daughters,, Miss Mildred
    Metz, Miss Shirley Metz, and
    Mrs Frank Sholly of Lyons and
    Mrs. Michael Quagliata of Ro-
    chester; two sons,, Karl Metz of
    Lyons and Robert Metz of New-
    ark; two sisters, Mrs.. George Ec-
    kert and Mrs. Carl Schindler of
    Lyons, nine grandchildren, nieces
    and nephews.

    The Barge Canal took another
    life Saturday when Dale Pichird
    Conrad. 5 years old. son of Robert
    Conrad and Edna Mae Brandt
    Conrad fell from an inner tube
    on which he hid been floating
    and was drowned.
    His body was recovered hy
    State trooper*, with the aid of
    the Lyons Fire Department. In
    fact, the firemen performed so
    valiantly in drawing for the body
    and the vilVigers at hand were
    so anxious to help them that
    Corporal W.. J. Lally, command-
    ;ng officer of the Newark State
    Police Station, called The Lyons
    Republican A Clyde Times to
    praise the firemen for their work.
    Funeral services for the victim
    were conducted at 2:30 p. m.
    Tuesday at the Weeks Funeral
    Home, with the Rev. J. Russell
    Fink. D. D. officiating. Burial
    was in South Cemetery.
    Survivors besides the parents
    are two brothers. Robert Eugene
    and Darrow; two sisters. Donna
    and Marlene.
