    Albert J. Brass, born and educated
    in Strykersville died suddenly,
    Sunday, Jan. 24, 1960 at
    Mercy Hospital after suffering a
    heart attack, while attending the
    8:30 service at the Immaculate
    Conception church, East Aurora.
    A veteran of Wbrld War 1. Mr.
    Brass served as a Sergeant with
    the 77th Division in France and
    he was a member of Strykersville
    Post 637, American Legion.
    Honorary member of East Aurora
    Post 362, American Legion and a
    Past President of the Posts Last
    Mans Club composed of World
    War 1 veterans. > __
    Mr. Brass was a "menSber-of Ar
    cade Barracks 1408, Veterans of
    World War 1 East Aurora Lodge
    370 Loyal Order of Moose and a
    past president of the Immacu
    late Conception Holy Name Society
    For, many years Mr. Brass was
    memorial Day parade marshall
    and at the impressive closing cer
    emonies at Oakwood cemetery he
    was delegated to raise the Flag
    to Full-mast as the East Aurora
    High School band played the na-
    tional anthem.
    Mr. Brass was a son of Frank
    and Elizabeth Brass born Oct. 26,
    1894 in Strykersville, where the
    Brass family lived as the father
    Frank Brass ran a black smith
    shop, who many will remember
    the trfiop, doing horse shoeing
    and all repair worki,
    Albert became associated with
    W. A. Kelver Studebaker Agency
    at 765 Main St., East Aurora
    as Service manager in 1920 and
    continued in that position until
    his' death. Before becoming service
    manager 40 years ago he dp
    erated the star mail route for sev
    eral years between East Aurora
    and North Java.
    Besides his wife Mrs. Agnes
    Glasner Brass, he is survived by
    a daughter, Mrs. Howard Carrow
    of East Aurora, a son Ronald
    G., East Aurora, four brothers,
    Luke of Arcade, Frank of Oneida,
    Maurice of Niagara Falls, Edward
    of-Buffalo and Fouk Grand
    children.

    Albert married GLASNER, Agnes E on 9 Aug 1922 in Strykersville, Wyoming County, NY. Agnes was born on 21 Oct 1895 in New York; died in May 1975 in East Aurora, Erie County, NY. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
