ALABANA-Mrs. Edith (Brege)
Gray, 82, of the Alleganey
Road, Town of Alabama, a native
of the Town of Royalton,
died this morning (May 7, 1968)
at Genesee Memorial Hospital,
Batavia, after a short illness.
Born July 18. 1885 in the
Town of Royalton, she was
daughter of Christian and Amelia
Smith Brege. She was a res
idem of this vicinity most of her
life.
Mrs. Gray was affiliated with
the Alabama Baptist Church.
Her husband, LaVerne Gray,
died eight years ago.
Surviving are one daughter,
Mrs. Robert (Ruth) Eick of the
Town of Alabama; three grand
children; three brothers, Fred
Brege of Middleport and Frank
and Albert Brege of Medina;
and three sisters, Mrs. Amanda
Bruning of Buffalo, Mrs. Henry
Pechuman of Lockport and Mrs
Revere Ackerson of East Aurora.
Beginning tomorrow, friends
may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9
p.m. at the Burdett & Sanford
Funeral Home at Oakfield,
where funeral services will be
held at 2 p.m. Friday. The Rev.
Clarence Bower, pastor of Alabama
Baptist Church, will officiate.
Burial will be in West Shelby
Cemetery.
Driver Injured,
Horse Killed
BARKER - A 38-year-old
man was injured early Monday
morning when his auto struck
and killed a stray horse on the
County Line Road, about onebalf
mile north of Millers.
Treated at Medina Memorial
Hospital for body bruises was
Robert Thiel of the County Line
Road. He was not admitted.
Albion State Police said Thiel
was traveling south about I
a.m. when his auto hit the
horse, killing it instantly. The
car then rolled over and was
demolished. A neighbor summoned
State Police after she
heard the crash.
The horse was owned by Theodore
Cook of the County Line
Road. State Police said it strayed
from a nearby pasture.
