Eugene H. Schuler (Gene) of Akron went home to his Savior on March 4, 2020. Wonderful father of Brenda (Carl) Carothers; Thomas (Shari) Schuler; and Cherie (Jeff) Subra; six grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. 
Joining him in heaven include his parents, Benjamin and Evelyn Schuler; loving wife  for almost 70 years Geraldine (Snell) Schuler; granddaughter, Michelle Bewley, and grandson, Steven Carothers; brothers and sisters, Lloyd Schuler, Lorraine Devereaux, Katherine Granzow, Nina Roberts, Emily Osterlee, Benjamin Schuler, Alice Bringham, and Richard Schuler.
Gene served his country honorably in the United States Navy, during World War II. He was a life-long member of Calvary Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon for many years. Gene enjoyed camping with his family and always cherished  time spent with his children and grandchildren.

Lila St. Onge Rose passed away September 9, 2019 in Elderwood at Lockport.  Born December 13, 1919 in Lockport she was the daughter of Ervin and Elida (Brewer) Criswell.  Lila worked for Harrison Radiator Div. of GM in production.  She enjoyed cooking, Sunday drives, and especially loved spending time with her family.  Lila was predeceased by her husband’s Joseph St. Onge in 1986 and Donald Rose in 2014 and son’s Joseph St. Onge and Kevin St. Onge.

Lockport:  Velva C. VanBuren, 91, passed away May 11, 2022.  She was born June 27, 1930 in Akron a daughter of the Ervin and Elida (Brewer) Criswell. Velva helped on the family farm and had milked 250 cows by herself once a day for many years. Mrs. VanBuren loved flowers,  decorating for Christmas, and enjoyed cooking and baking for family get togethers during the holidays.  At one time, she drove a team of horses on a two row cultivator, growing vegitables for the family and public market.
She was predeceased by sons, Jerry VanBuren and Daryl Hoste.
She is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Walter; children, Karen (Don) Gibb, Sheila Bruckner, Denise Dubois, Beverly (Dan) Smith, Verne VanBuren, Sharlyn Kennedy; brother, Marshall (Rose) Criswell; 15 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, cousins.

LOCKPORT - Violet J. Whitehead passed away March 13, 2014 in Eastern Niagara Hospital, Lockport. Born in Lockport on June 12, 1927, she was the daughter of Irving and Elida (Brewer) Criswell. Violet worked in production for Harrison Radiator, was a member of the Navy/Marine Club, Redman Club, American Legion, VFW and UAW, and enjoyed gardening. She was predeceased by her husband, Carl Whitehead, on March 2, 2009.

LOCKPORT - Jenette Elizabeth Naish, age 81, of Gasport, entered into rest on Thursday, June 19, 2014, at Eastern Niagara Hospital in Lockport. Born July 14, 1932, Jenette was the daughter of the late Ervin and Elida (Brewer) Criswell.

Jenette married Eugene F. Naish on January 20, 2007, at Covenant United Church of Christ. She was previously married to Delbert "Bubby" Cummings, who died in 1993. Jenette worked as a home care aide for many years. An avid sports fan, Jenette enjoyed watching NASCAR, especially Jeff Gordon #24, the Yankees, Bills and Sabres. Flower gardening and bird watching were favorite pastimes. Jenette also enjoyed going to the casino and traveling with her husband.

Surviving Jenette is her husband, Eugene Naish. Dear mother of Del Cummings of Lockport, Michael Cummings of Lockport, Judy (Roger) LaPort of Arizona, Marchele Pratt of Newfane, Candy Sutherland of West Virginia, Cindy Huth of Newfane, Brenda Rodrigues of Lockport, and Doug (Darla) Cummings of Lockport. She was predeceased by children, Randy Cummings, Scott Cummings and Wendy Cummings. Step-mother of Lugene Dodge of Missouri, Vicky (Larry) Demmin of Middleport, Jacquelyn Lawrence of Gasport, and Gwendolyn Hunt of Middleport. Jenette had a special closeness with her niece, Diane Sansone. Several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews also survive Jenette.

Family and friends are invited to attend visitation at the Sherrie-Bream Funeral Home, 4521 Main Street, Gasport, on Sunday, June 22, 2014, from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Joan J. Cherry, age 92, entered into rest February 17, 2024 at Absolut Care in Gasport. She was born February 7, 1932 in Royalton to the late Charles and Esther (Brewer) Criswell.
After graduating from Akron Central Schools, she was a beautician and owned her own salon in Akron, and later ran Criswell Insurance Co. with her husband. In her free time, Joan enjoyed painting, gardening and sewing. In earlier years, she was a very active member of the East Shelby Community Bible Church. In addition to her parents, Joan was predeceased by her husband Richard Cherry, brother Charles Criswell and niece Sue Ann Criswell.
Joan is survived by her sisters-in-law: Doris Criswell and Irene Cherry, niece Karen (Thomas) Hopkins, nephew Brian (Jackie) Criswell, great nieces and nephews: Stacey (Matt) Johnston, Becky (TJ) Rudz, Katie (Logan) LaFave, Andy (Mary) Criswell, Aaron Criswell (Kayla) and Tyler Criswell (Danielle), great-great nieces and nephews: Ainsley, Jayson and Emmett as well as many other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Anita was born on September 24, 1945 in Wrights Corner, NY, a daughter of the late Lloyd and Mary (Stephanski) Schuler.
Anita was a lifelong baseball and New York Yankees fan. In the days of radio coverage she loved to listen to games and then enjoyed watching games and replays when the Yankees won.  She enjoyed these games while pursuing her other main passion quilting.  An amazing artist, her art brought joy and beauty to many with her awesome work.  She loved to attend her quilting retreats with friends while enjoying many laughs and stories.
Anita was a member of many quilting groups in Western and Central NY and routinely made quilts for the Quilts of Valor program and many other charitable causes.  She loved living by Cayuga Lake, playing (and bidding at) Pinochle, and spending time with family, friends, and her friends in the Amish community. She was the most loving and caring wife, mother, and friend.
She is survived by her loving husband of 49 years Ward; her children, Sarah (Eric) of John Day, Oregon, Rachel (Chris) of Winter Garden, FL and Andy of Ovid, NY, and by her adoring granddaughter, Sarah; her sister, Barbara, brothers Dick (Diane) and Dave, sister-in-law, Lynette, along with many nieces, nephews and other family. Anita was preceded in death by her brother Dennis, and by a brother in law, Sam.

Sally K. McAninch passed away July 17, 2021 in Niagara Hospice House.  Born September 4, 1940 in Cambria, the daughter of John and Lorraine (Schuler) Devereaux.  Sally and her late husband Ron owned and operated the Corner Inn Tavern in Lockport and The Hillside Inn in Cambria. Sally loved being with her family, being outdoors, gardening, and playing Yahtzee while drinking coffee and watching the birds in her yard.  She also enjoyed playing euchre. She was predeceased by her husband of 43 years, Ronald E. McAninch in 2000 and son Ronald (Bug) McAninch in 2014.
Sally is survived by her daughters Sally Lemley, Paula (late David) Moore, Lori McAninch, and Tamara McAninch; grandchildren Eric, Leanna (John), Sean (Tammy), David Jr., Anthony (Danielle), Joseph, Aaron, Yvonne (James), Ashley (John), and Terry, twenty-five great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, and sister Jean Frost, and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Jacqueline Spedding, Ronald Devereaux, John Paul Devereaux, Carol Quintana, and Annie Speer.

Survived by his beloved companion, David Wallace; his son, John Paul (Kim) Jones; grandchildren, Breanna (Bruno) Green and Johnathon Jones; great-grandchildren, Danica and Olivia Green; sisters, Jacqueline Spedding, Sally McAninch, Jean Devereaux and Annie Speer; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Born in Lockport on February 9, 1933, she was the daughter of the late John and Loraine Schuler Devereaux. Jacquelyn was a member of the Wilson Yacht Club and Willowbrook Golf Course. She enjoyed going to Sheehan's Restaurant with her friends, golfing, sewing, baking, gardening, flowers, watching the birds, especially her cardinals and blue jays. Jacquelyn also enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her husband, John Spedding III, who passed away on June 3, 2010. Jacquelyn was the sister of Jean Devereaux and Sally Mc Aninch, both of Lockport, Anne Speer of FL., and the late Ronald Devereaux, John Paul Devereaux and Carol Quintana. She is also survived by her nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews. Jacquelyn was the dear friend of Barb and Jack Bowers and Millie Jackson. TOWN OF WHEATFIELD — Carol (Devereaux) Quintana, of the Town of Wheatfield and Bonita Springs, FL, died on Monday, September 12, 2011 in Roswell Park Cancer Institute. She was 69. She was born in Lockport, NY, on December 24, 1941, the daughter of John Owen and Loriane (Schuler) Devereaux.

She attended Lockport schools and graduated from Starpoint Central High School. Mrs. Quintana was employed by General Motors, Harrison Radiator for 29 years, retiring in 1992. She was a member of the American Legion LaSalle Post 1142.

Mrs. Quintana is survived by her companion, Nicholas Vanamstel of Bonita Springs, FL; two daughters, Lisa Routhier (Steve) and Cynthia Salie (Barry), both of Niagara Falls; her sisters, Jackie (late John) Spedding, Jeanie Zastrow, Sally McAinch (late Ronald) all of Lockport; her beloved sister, Anne Speer of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; her brother, John Devereaux (David Wallace) of Winterhaven, FL; grandchildren, Tiffany and Josh Thorman of Niagara Falls, Stephany Routhier, Mitchell Fura of Niagara Falls; two great-grandchildren, Kurstin and Isabella Thorman; her loving cousins, the Brighams, Donna and John Slacziak and her family at the Sunshine Cafe'.

He is the son of the late Joseph and the late Lila (Chriswell) St. Onge Rose (Late Don Rose). He married Judith Zastrow on august 26th 1967, she predeceased him on September 24th, 2014. David served in the Army from 1967 to 1969 and received the sharpshooter and national defense service medals. He was employed by International Multifoods as an operator for 30 plus years. Gary St Onge of Lockport, NY, passed away on Sunday, October 22, 2023, in Mercy Hospital of Buffalo. Born on June 24, 1949, in Lockport, he was the son of the late Joseph St. Onge and Lila (nee Criswell) St. Onge Rose. He retired after 34 years as a Millwright from Buffalo Paperboard/Domtar. Gary was President of Local 1195 for over 18 years, was Sargeant at Arms of Niagara Orleans Council since 1981, a member of The Moose Club and The Elks Lodge. He received “Labor Person of the Year”, he volunteered for the letter carriers, rang bells for The Salvation Army and participated in “Make a Difference Day” and “The Day of Sharing”. Gary enjoyed crossword puzzles, crypto, sudoku, jumble and camping. Delbert O. Cummings, Jr. passed away suddenly July 24, 2018.  Born October 24, 1950 in Lockport he was the son of Delbert O. and Jenette (Criswell) Cummings, Sr.  Delbert worked as a farm hand for 30 years with New Royal Orchard in Gasport.  He enjoyed sports playing baseball, music, politics, playing fantasy football, and was a fan of the Buffalo Bill and Sabres and the NY Yankees. 
Delbert is survived by his children Daniel Cummings, David Cummings, Bruce Cummings, Dylan (Deanna) Cummings, Marc (Shannon) Haner, Kyle (Amanda) Haner, Tammy (Joe) Kowalik, Brandy (Chris) Stinson, and Robin (Eric) James; 22 grandchildren; five great grandchildren; siblings Doug Cummings, Mike Cummings, Cindy Cummings, Marchele Cummings, Judy LaPort, Brenda Rodriguez, Candi Southard, and late Scott Cummings, Randy Cummings, and Wendy Cummings; also survived by his former wives Darlene Haner and Karen Beahr, several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
