Mr. Joseph Vincent Tropea, 66, of
1212 Kathleen St., Utica, died July 14,
1986, at St. Luke's Memorial Hospital,
after a long illness.
He was bom in
Utica, N.Y., August
1,1919, son of
Vincent and Mary
LaPorte Tropea,
was educated in
local schools, and
he was a graduate
of Utica College.
On May 11, 1946,
Joseph married the
former Theresa
Brindisi. Mr. Tropea
was employed as a Logistics
Specialist in the Electronics Systems
Division for the Fwktal GovertuBeat-
at Grifnss Air Force Base and
Hanscom Field, Bedford, Mass., for
over 30 years, retiring in 1974. During
World War U. Joseph served in the
U.S. Army and received citations for
his involvement in the European
Theater. He was a treasurer of the
Twenty-five Club, and was an avid
Bocce Player at the Sons of Italy. He
was a communicant of St Agnes
Church.
He is survived by his beloved wife
and mother, his two sons, Vincent and
his wife, Theresa, Gary and his friend.
Patricia Surace, all of Utica; three
grandchildren, Ginny. Joseph and
Meghan Tropea; his sister, Rose Procopio;
and very special relatives,
Vincent Procopio, and Mr. and Mrs.
Salvatore Brindisi, all of Utica; and"
several aunts, nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held Thursday
at 9 am from The Matt Funeral
Home and at 9:30 a.m. from St Agnes
Church where a Mass of Christian
Burial will be celebrated. Entombment
will be in Resurrection Chapel
Mausoleum.
