    Harold "Pat" Ryan, age 89, of Newfane passed away peacefully on Friday, April 20, 2018 surrounded by his loving family at Eastern Niagara Hospital, Lockport. He was born in Lockport, NY on March 17, 1929 (St. Patrick Day) to the late Percy and Winifred (Bloom) Ryan.

    Pat served in the US Army during the Korean War with the 4th Infantry Division achieving the rank of Sergeant. He married Shirley Ann Tucker, May 7, 1955. Pat worked at Harrison Radiator as a welder retiring after 38 years. He was a member of the Town of Newfane Historical Society serving as trustee and past president and involved with the VanHorn Mansion. He was "unofficially" known as the Mayor of Newfane. Pat enjoyed his walks, playing euchre, wood-working, and small engine repair.

    Beloved father of Roxanne (Bob) Davis of Lockport, Sherry (Don Yaxley) Tuohey of Medina, Rhonda (Jim Cudahy) Krieger-Gerling of Olcott, Patrick (Lynn) Ryan of Niagara Falls. Loving Grandpa to Robin (Tim) Frey, Kelly (Brian) Fix, Justin Krieger, Elizabeth (Dan Bowser) Krieger, Dan (Micha) Twist, Jason (Megan) Tuohey, Timothy Ryan and Amy (Dan Rosenbeck) Krieger. Great-Grandpa to Payton & Zoey Bowser, Carter & Chase Fix, Charleigh Tuohey, and Melia Frey.

    Brother of Dorothy (late Robert) Vigrass, Winifred (late Fay) Heschke, Charlotte (late Pat) Patrick, Donald (Judy) Ryan, Dawn (late Raymond) Coyle, brother-in-laws Robert Heschke and Herb Kolbe. Brother-in-law Ronald (Carol) Tucker. He leaves behind a special friend Carol Pratt.

    He was predeceased by his wife Shirley (Tucker), son Timothy Ryan, and great-grandson Gus. His siblings Betty (Gordon) Crane, Gerri (Ernie) Winters, Audrey Burgess, Mary (Junior) Caldwell, Anna Heschke, Florence Kolbe.

    Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

    Family and friends may call at the Rutland-Corwin Funeral Home, Inc. 2670 Main St., Newfane, NY on Thursday, April 26th, from 2-7 pm. Funeral Service at First Baptist Church, 6047 East Ave, Newfane on Friday, April 27th @ 11:00am. Interment following Glenwood Cemetery, Lockport.

    In lieu of flowers, memorials appreciated to Niagara Hospice or Town of Newfane Historical Society
