rates for Mrs. Ruth Leslie, 68. will
be held at 2 o'clock Wednesday at
her home, 2108 Ontario avenue, and
at 2:30 in Zion Evangelical Lutheran
church. Burial will be in
Riverdale cemetery. Mrs. Leslie
died Saturday evening.

Notes:

Shirley Mae Geltz, 94, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away peacefully in Elderwood at Lockport on February 19, 2023. Born in Niagara Falls, she was the daughter of the late Stephen and Lillian (Leisle) Taylor.
Shirley attended local schools and graduated from Niagara Falls High School. On May 8, 1948, she married her beloved husband, Kenneth L. Geltz. Mr. Geltz sadly predeceased her on February 9, 2015.
Shirley was a faithful member of Grace Lutheran Church for over 50 years. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Mrs. Geltz is survived by her children, Ronald (Patricia) Geltz and Robert Geltz; her grandchildren, Stephen (Jenny) Geltz and Matthew (Kelsey) Geltz, as well as several nieces and nephews. Shirley was predeceased by her siblings, Richard (late Rebecca) Taylor and Marion (late William) Mussel and her brother-in-law, Richard (late Caroline) Geltz.

KAROLYN E. BURDEN, age 75, a lifelong resident of Niagara Falls, NY, entered into rest after a brief illness on July 2, 2018 while at the Northgate Health Care Facility. Born in Niagara Falls, NY on May 25, 1943, daughter of the late Kenneth and Elizabeth (Milne) Burt. Karolyn was a 1961 graduate of LaSalle Senior High School, loved dancing, of which she won many competitions, enjoyed knitting, doing ceramics, was employed as an inventory specialist at the former Carborundum Company- coated abrasives division, in Wheatfield, and retired from the Seneca Niagara Casino. 
Survivors include three children, Linda Johnson of Niagara Falls, Stephen (Sahlee) Burden of San Diego, and Daniel (Linda) Burden of Niagara Falls; her beloved grandchildren, Tara, Joseph, Stephen Jr., Ariel, Samantha, and Seth Burden, and Meaghan Johnson; a life long friend, Karen Heffler; and her beloved Westie, "Piper".
Karolyn was also predeceased by two brothers, John and Brian Burt.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements were with the DuBois Funeral Home, Wheatfield.

BUFFALO — Brian P. Burt, age 62, of Niagara Falls, entered into rest on May 18, 2013, at the Buffalo General Hospital, after a brief illness. Born in Niagara Falls, NY on March 12, 1951, he was the son of the late Kenneth and Elizabeth (Milne) Burt. Brian was a 1969 graduate of LaSalle Senior High School and served in the U.S. Army from 1971-1977 as a Ranger and received the Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal and Sharpshooter M-16. Brian was employed at the Carborundum Company in Wheatfield and later as a mechanic at Great Lakes Recycling in North Tonawanda, until his retirement. Hobbies included a variety of things relating to history, making Renaissance chain mail, woodworking and music.

Survivors include his wife, Katherine (Duffield) Burt. They were united in marriage on July 25, 1970; two daughters, Andrea (Stephen) Seaver of Greer, SC and Ashley Burt of Niagara Falls; four grandchildren, Nicholas, Preston, Shelby and Colton; a sister, Karolyn E. Burden of Niagara Falls; two nephews, Stephen and Daniel Burden and a niece, Linda Johnson. Also predeceased by a brother, John G. Burt.

Friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Thursday, May 23, at 7:00 PM in the DUBOIS FUNERAL HOME, 2436 Niagara Road, (Bergholz) in Wheatfield, with the Rev. Michael A. Keicher officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
