    Miron B. Wasik, of the Town of Cambria, NY, passed away on Tuesday, December 29, 2015, at his home under the care of his family and Niagara Hospice. He was born in North Tonawanda, NY, on December 21, 1918, the son of the late George and Karolina [Sidor] Wasik.

    Mr. Wasik attended Mapleton #2 school in Wheatfield. He served in the US Army as a Master Sergeant with the 1st Armored Division in Europe during World War II. Mr. Wasik helped liberate the Dachau concentration camp, where he was an interpreter of both Polish and Russian. After returning from the war, he begain farming and started his construction equipment sales company. He was one of the largest land owners in Niagara County and had properties in Alabama and Florida. Mr. Wasik donated the land on Sunset Drive in Lockport, which became the start of Niagara Hospice. He was the husband of the late Nova Violet [Hogan] Wasik, who died in October of 2008.

    He is survived by five sons Bill (Gerry) Wasik, Dick (Judy) Wasik, John (Laurel) Wasik, George (Jamie) Wasik and Jim Wasik , two daughters Carolyn (Gert) Wasik-Petersen and Vivian (John) Wasik-Boyd, one brother Frank (Barbara) Wasik, 23 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren and 1 great great grand daughter, also many nieces and nephews.Mr. Wasik was the father of the late Patricia and Elaine Wasik, brother of the late Mitchell (late Helen) Wasik, Edward Wasik and Jane Burkhardt.

    His family will be present on Saturday from 4-6 PM and on Sunday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 5893 Hoover Road, SANBORN, NY.
    Funeral services will be held Monday at 10:00 AM at St. Paul's United Church of Christ, (SHAWNEE) 3921 Mapleton Road, North Tonawanda, NY, with the Rev. Ronald Lord officiating.


    Flowers are gratefully declined. Memorials may be made in his name to St. Paul's UCC or to Niagara Hospice, St. Jude Children's Reserch Hospital.

    TONAWANDA — Mitchell C. Wasik, 91, commonly known to friends as "Mac", passed away, unexpectedly, on June 13, 2012.

    Husband of the late Helen A. (nee Pisarek) Wasik. Brother of the late Edward Wasik and Viola (nee Sorg) Burkhart. Beloved father of Barbara M. Banty, Edward M. (Susan) Wasik, Janet S. Wasik and Mary Anne Laubacker. Dear grandfather of Mary Helen, Jeffrey, Brian, Kenneth, Teresa, Jessica and four great-grandchildren. Brother of Miron B. Wasik and Frank S. Wasik.

    Mitchell was a caring father and enjoyed watching wrestling, westerns and World War II movies. He served in the United States Army during World War II in Normandy, Northern France, Ardennes, Rhineland and Central European campaigns. Mitchell was awarded the American Service Medal, European-African-Middle Eastern Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal and Five Bronze Battle Stars.

    Family and friends are invited to call on Saturday, June 16, 2012 from 7-9 PM and on Sunday, June 17, 2012 from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM at Colucci Funeral Home, 652 Oliver Street, North Tonawanda (692-4917). A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, June 18, 2012 at 9:30 AM at Our Lady of Czestochowa R.C. Church, 626 Oliver Street, North Tonawanda. An interment service will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Tonawanda.

    Frank S. Wasik passed away peacefully at Niagara Hospice surrounded by his loving family on January 9, 2024.  Born October 9, 1928 in North Tonawanda, the son of the late George and Karolina (Sidor) Wasik.  Frank is survived by his wife of 62 years, Barbara (nee Gaylord) Wasik and children Debra (Bill) Hopkins. Diane (David "Jake") Reed, David (Melissa) Wasik, and Michael (Tara) Wasik; his grandchildren Emily Reed, Brooke & Cameron Wasik, and Natalie Wasik.  He was predeceased and joined in heaven with his son Frank T Wasik, grandson Benjamin Wasik, and siblings Miron (Nova), Mitchell "Mac" (Helen), Edward, and Viola "Jane" (Fred) Burkhardt. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
    Frank was a lifelong cattle farmer and horse dealer, who bred and raised Brahman cattle, Quarter horses and Belgian work horses.  He had a deep love of farming and animals.  Frank was also a founding member of the Niagara Frontier Draft Horse Club.  He was also a longtime member of the American Legion, serving in the US Army combat veteran of the Korean War, serving from 1953-1955.  Following his honorable discharge, Frank resumed farming fulltime and opened his farm to horse boarding and started a career as a truck driver at Frank's Vacuum Service. 
    Frank's greatest joy was his family, who will miss him dearly.  The family would like to thank Niagara Hospice for its wonderful care.

    LOCKPORT — Patricia Sue Wasik, 68, passed into the Lord's hands on February 19, 2012. Born in Fort Smith, AR, she called the Town of Cambria her home. Pat was the daughter of Miron B. Wasik and the late Nova (Hogan) Wasik.

    Pat loved the country and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Her lifelong passion was nursing as she dedicated three decades of her life to. Pat started in a one-room school house and ended up being in the first graduating class at Starpoint Central High School in 1959.

    She is survived by her three sons, Colin, Jon and Kristian Bruce; her two daughters, Leah McCabe and Sarah Drahms; daughters-in-law, Tina and Monica; and her grandchildren, Christina, Courtney, Jacob, Jenna, Nicholas, Ava, Thomas, Katie, Adler and Keylen. She is also survived by her siblings, Bill, Carolyn, Dick, Vivian, John, George and Jim; and many nieces and nephews.

    There will be a memorial service held at St. Paul's U.C.C., 3921 Mapleton Road, in Pendleton, Saturday, Feb. 25th at 11 AM. Memorials can be made to St. Paul's Memorial Fund.

    Frank was a farmer working on the family farm, Wasik Farm, in Pendleton. He enjoyed working on fabrication, welding and working with heavy equipment. Frank loved being on his farm, planting crops, feeding the cows and especially enjoyed spending time with his nieces and nephews.
    Besides his parents, Frank is also survived by his siblings, Debra (William) Hopkins, Diane (David "Jake") Reed, David (Melissa) Wasik and Michael (Tara) Wasik; nieces and nephews, Emily Reed, Brooke and Cameron Wasik, Natalie Wasik, and the late Benjamin D. Wasik; dear friend, Lisa Sendker; also survived by several dear aunts, uncles and cousins.

    Beside his parents, Ben is survived by his siblings, Brooke and Cameron Wasik. Beloved, Grandson of Frank and Barbara Wasik and Richard and Elaine Reil; dear nephew of Debra (Bill Hopkins) Wasik, Frank Wasik, Diane (David "Jake") Wasik-Reed, Michael (Tara) Wasik, Brandon (Lindsay) Reil, Bryan (Desiree) Reil and Lisa Sendker. He is also survived by his cousins Emily Reed, Natalie Wasik, Audriana Reil, Delaney Reil, Landon Reil and Ethan Reil.

    Friends may call on Sunday March 19th 2-4 and 6-8 PM at Prudden and Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St., Lockport. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday March 20th at 10 AM at the Pendleton Center United Methodist Church, 6864 Campbell Blvd., North Tonawanda, NY. Interment will be in Wheatfield Cemetery.
