    Fillmore Road Resident Died On Monday
    Mass Thursday for the late Charles Bucheit

    Charles M. Bucheit, 77, of Fillmore Road, passed away on Monday afternoon at 3:15 at the Andrew Kaul Memorial Hospital following a lengthy illness.

    The deceased was born in St. Marys on September 20, 1892, son of the late Frank and Mary Goetz Bucheit. He was a retired employee of Keystone Carbon Company and a member of the C.M.F. and St. Joseph Society.

    He is survived by two daughters and two sons. They are: Verna, Mrs. Willis Hanes of Niagara Falls, NY; Marlene, Mrs. Albert Schatz, Vilmer Bucheit and Earl Bucheit, all of St. Marys.

    Also surviving are 27 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

    He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Germaine Goetz, on January 30, 1966.

    Also preceding him in death were the following brothers and sisters: Mrs. Lena Distler, Mrs. Rose Distler, Mrs. Mary Meyer, Mrs. Gertrude Walker, Mrs. Josephine Cotter, Mrs. Julia Renwick, Mrs. Hilda Wortman, Joseph Bucheit, Frank Bucheit and William Bucheit.

    He was the last of his immediate family.

    Requiem mass will be celebrated on Thursday morning at nine o'clock from the St. Marys Church with interment to follow in the parish cemetery.

    Friends and relatives may call at the John J. Lynch Funeral Home on N. Michael Street, tonight from 7 to 9 and on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9.

    NOTE: The obituary spelled his name as "Bucheit" while the marker has "Buchheit".

    VERNA J. HANES

    Services for Verna J. Hanes, 67, of 90th Street will be held at 7:30 p.m. today in the Lane Funeral Home, 8622 Buffalo Ave.

    Mrs. Hanes, a city resident since 1955, died Monday (May 21, 1990) in Mount St. Mary's Hospital, Lewiston, following a long illness.

    The former Verna Buchheit was a native of St. Mary's, Pa.

    She is survived by her husband, Willis Hanes; two sons, Michael of Tonawanda and Robert of Apex, N.C.; two daughters, Virginia Knoerl of Canandaigua and Elizabeth O'Brien; two brothers, Vilmer Buchheit and Earl Buchheit, and a sister, Marlene Schatz, all of St. Mary's, Pa., and six grandchildren.

    Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, St. Mary's, Pa.
