Merlyn Edward Copeland, 76, of North Tonawanda, Wednesday (April 25, 2018) surrounded by family under the care of Niagara Hospice. Mr. Copeland was born in North Tonawanda on June 13, 1941 to Edward and Celeste (Sattleberg) Copeland. Mr. Copeland was U.S. Army Veteran, a Civil Engineer, for Tonawanda Coke, in his spare time he enjoyed spending time with his family, NASCAR, crossword puzzles, and Model Rail Roader.
Merlyn is survived by his daughters Christine (Glenn) Redmon, Wendy Moore, and grandfather of Officer Nicholas Moore.
Friends may call Saturday (May 5, 2018) from 2-3 PM at the Wattengel Funeral Home, 533 Meadow Drive, North Tonawanda, where funeral services will follow. If desired memorials may be made to the Wounded Worrier fund, of the Niagara County SPCA.

Mary had been a former member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church, the Ladies Guild and had been a former youth counselor. She is currently a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. She had been a member of the V.F.W. Drum Corps.
Beloved mother of Tracy (William) Schultz of Grand Island, Carl (Valerie) Hoover of North Tonawanda, and Peter (Janet) Hoover of Waterford, MI. Grandmother of Cortny Frank, Roberta (Patrick) Callocchia, Billy (Katie) Schultz, Jacqueline Berecz, Paul (Candy) Hoover, Joshua (Vittoria) Hoover, Stephen Hoover. Great grandmother of 11 great-grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Doris Brody and Janet Duquette. Aunt of Cecile Boyle and Kevin Duquette and several other nieces and nephews.

Daniel Paul Maerten, 49, of Martinsburg, WV, passed away from cancer on Friday, February 3, 2017, with his loving family at his side. Born January 26, 1968, in North Tonawanda, NY, the son of Gerald P. Maerten of Hinsdale, NY, and the late Audrey Bachman Maerten.
He graduated from Niagara-Wheatfield High School in 1986, received his B.A. from St. Bonaventure University in 1990 and earned his Juris Doctorate Degree from Catholic University Law School in Washington. DC. Professionally, Dan was an attorney with CACI in Rosslyn, VA.
Dan was a member of the Parish Council of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, and served in the choir and as a cantor. He was a Knight of Columbus and Committee Chair with Boy Scout Troop 66.
Dan leaves a legacy of love and memories to his cherished wife of 26 years, Patti J. (Tantillo) Maerten; and beloved children, Serafina and Gabriel; his father; and one sister, Debbie Maerten Duchesne of Mint Hill, NC.
The family will receive friends on Friday, February 10, 2017 from 5:00-8:00 PM at Brown Funeral Home South Berkley Chapel in Inwood, WV. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, February 11, 2017, at 12:00 PM at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Private Interment.
