The funeral of Mrs. Catherine
Stahl, who died Saturday at the
home of her daughter, Mrs. Albert
Stecker, Transit road town of Amherst,
will be held from the Stecker
home tomorrow afternoon at 2
o'clock, and an hour later from
the Skinnersville Lutheran church.
Burial will be at Skinnersville.
Mrs. Stahl, was the wife of the
late Jacob Stahl. She is survived
by a son, Alvin Stahl, Pendleton;
six daughters, Mrs. George Muck,
Mrs. Henry Pfanner, Tonawandas;
Mrs. James Knight, Getzville, Mrs.
Albert Liscoff and Mrs. Stecker;
ten grandchildren, two great,
grandchildren, a brother, George
Guinther, Tonawanda, and a sister,
Mrs. Charles Fick, Pendleton.

morning after a long illness. Born
in Getzville, Mrs. Muck had lived
in Tonawanda for 45 years. She
was the widow of the late George

Church and of the Women's Guild
of the church. Surviving are a
daughter, Mrs. Warren Short and

who was killed by an automobile on
Delaware street Saturday afternoon,
was held from the late home at 2
o'clock this afternoon and a half hour
later from the Salem Church on Morgan
street. The services were conducted
by the Rev. Hans Horney.
Burial was in Elmlawn.

NORTH TONAWANDA — Ruth M. Hawkins (nee Semper), age 91, of North Tonawanda, peacefully entered into eternal rest on December 6, 2012, following a lengthy illness. Ruth had worked as a secretary with Columbus McKinnon. She was a lifelong member of St. Peter's United Church of Christ. She was a member of the North Tonawanda Senior Citizens and the AARP. Ruth loved traveling. She was an avid bowler and horseshoe player, and she was also the last surviving member of her high school sorority card club.

She was the wife of the late Albert R. Hawkins. Beloved mother of Douglas P. (Belinda) Hawkins of Ocala, FL, and Janice D. (James) McCloskey of Tonawanda. Grandmother of Gregory J. (Jessica) McCloskey of Amherst, and Steven A. Hawkins of Ocala, FL. She was the sister of the late Virginia Stone and Franklin Semper; aunt of several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the Fretthold Funeral Home Inc., 1241 Oliver St. at Ward Rd., in North Tonawanda on Monday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM. NORTH TONAWANDA — David C. Muck, age 66, of North Tonawanda, died on Saturday, December 17, 2011. Born in Buffalo, NY, to the late Oscar and Dorothy (Wilke) Muck, he had been a lifelong resident of North Tonawanda, and was the brother of the late Donald Muck. David had been employed as a Draftsman for the Wurlitzer Company in North Tonawanda for 12 years. He then worked as a Designer for Brighton Tool and Die Design, Inc., in Tonawanda for 25 years, retiring in 2005. David was a longtime member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in North Tonawanda, and was an active volunteer within the Eastern District, Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod, in Williamsville, NY. He held many offices and positions in both the Church and the District. He was a passionate supporter of the International Lutheran Laymen's League in St. Louis, MO, where he held many positions including Governor, and International Treasurer. David also volunteered for the Buffalo Convention & Visitors Bureau.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Ruth E. (nee Ophardt) Muck; a daughter, Lana Suzanne Muck of Arlington, VA; and his cousins, Norm Muck, Jean Dutton, Jerry Short, Marilyn Hrncirek, Ruth Cooper and Gladys Kenyon.

Friends may call on Wednesday from 3-6 PM ONLY at JOHN O. ROTH FUNERAL HOME, INC., 25 William St. (between Morgan & Broad Sts.), City of Tonawanda. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, December 22nd at 10 AM at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 453 Old Falls Blvd. in North Tonawanda. Friends invited. Rev. Karl W. Haeussler will officiate. Robert was a Korean War Veteran serving in the United States Airforce, 62 year member of Adams Fire Co. in his spare time he enjoyed fishing, working for his Fire Co. and spending time with his family. Robert was predeceased by his wife Mary (Machaby) Proefrock who died in 2015.
Robert is survived by his children Robert A. Sally A. Ferguson, age 83, of Amherst, on November 24, 2022. Sally was born to the late Arnold and Margaret Proefrock and is predeceased by her siblings, Dorothy (Paul) Chapman, and Robert (Betty) Proefrock. She will be greatly missed by her husband John and her children, Gary Geartz and Sherry (Daniel) Harlach. Sally leaves behind her cherished grandchildren; Katie, Sara, Scott (Amanda), and Kristen; as well as her great grandchildren Leo and Dalton. She leaves behind the Okun family, whom she loved dearly. She will also be greatly missed by several nieces and nephews, and her loving friends and neighbors.
Sally had a servant’s heart and spent much of her time volunteering at Journey’s End, Saint Christopher Outreach, and The Newman Center. Sally and John played an integral part in serving refugees at Journey's End by providing them with clothing and hygiene products. She also enjoyed gardening, traveling with John to the Caribbean, and spending time at the family cottage in Canada. Sally loved to cook for her family and cherished them above all else. A Celebration of Life will be held at The Newman Center, 495 Skinnersville Road, on Tuesday, December 6th, at 5:00pm.
