William Crewe, a former
city policeman, died Tuesday
(Oct. 1, 1963) in T i c e ,Fla.,
where he had lived since 1951.
He was 74.
Mr, Crewe joined the police
force in 1919 and retired in
1944 after contracting polio.
During many of his years on
the force he worked a beat
around the New York Central
Depot in Falls Street. He also
drove a patrol wagon for several
years.
Former Police Supt. Martin
T. Considine called him the
"neatest man on the force."
He said that Mr. Crewe was
"well liked by everyone he
worked with." Several members
of current police force
remember him and held him
in high regard.
Mr. Crewe left the city in
1951 for Tice, which is a sub-
urb of Fort Myers, Fla. He
had been in a wheelchair since
his polio attack.
In Niagara Falls he was a
member of Epiphany Epis-
copal Church and of Masonic
Lodge No. 132 F&AM.
surviving are his wife, Mrs.
Anna Crewe; a daughter, Mrs.
Marjorie Walker, of this city;
a brother, Rudolph Crewe, of
Model City; a sister, Mrs.
Otto (Matilda) Koller, of Ran-
somville; and four children.
Services will be held Thurs-
day in Tice. Burial will be
there also.

Obituary of Linda St. Cyr Linda Janice (Crewe) St. Cyr, age 67 years, of the Town of Porter died unexpectedly on November 14, 2015 in Mt. St. Mary's Hospital in Lewiston. Linda, was born April 27, 1948, in Niagara Falls, NY, the daughter of the late William H. and Mildred (Buttery) Crewe. Her parents lived in the Barracks housing at Fort Niagara at the time of her birth and she has resided in Niagara County all of her life. On April 27, 1968 she married her husband Robert R. St. Cyr Sr. in Niagara Falls, NY and they made their home in the Porter area, celebrating their 47th year of marriage in April of this year. Linda had attended public schools in both the Lewiston Porter Central & Niagara Falls City School Districts. As a child she worked for several farmers in the area including the Nichols Farm on Route 104, picking fruits along with her parents and after her marriage, with her husband & son. She had also been employed as a Cleaner at the former Fairchild Manor Nursing Home in Lewiston. Upon becoming disabled Linda had attended the Dukes Center on Hyde Park & the Guild Care on Pine Avenue. She loved doing all types of handicraft work. Linda loved being with her family especially her great granddaughter, Faith. She also loved her daily phone talks with her sister Alice and looked forward to seeing her brother Ken ride his moped over to visit with her in good weather. Linda was an avid Bingo player and loved to go fishing with her husband and son. Survivors include her husband Robert "Goober" Roy St Cyr Sr.; her son, Robert Roy (Marcia) St Cyr Jr.; two grandchildren, Robert R. St. Cyr, 3rd & Crystal D. St. Cyr; a great granddaughter, Faith St. Cyr, all of Lewiston; her siblings, Grace (late 'Pete') Austin and Kenneth W. Evelyn J. (Crewe) Gilmer, 63, of Niagara Falls, NY passed away Friday May 22, 2015 unexpectedly at Buffalo General Hospital. Born August 4, 1951 in Niagara Falls, NY, she was the daughter of the late William and Mildred (Buttery) Crewe.

Evelyn graduated from LaSalle Senior High School in Niagara Falls, NY. She worked at several local restaurants throughout her life, and most recently at Mt. St. Mary’s Hospital for 12 years, until retiring in 2014. Evelyn enjoyed playing bingo, but most importantly enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

Evelyn is survived by her two children, Cynthia (Danny) Mort of Youngstown, NY and Joseph Gilmer of Niagara Falls, NY; two grandsons, Nicholas Casal and Adam Pike, three great-grandsons, Joseph, Dominick and Aiden Casal. She is also survived by her longtime companion John Stevens; her siblings Gracie (late Pete) Austin, Kenny Crewe, Alice (late Albert) Williams, Linda (Robert) St. Cyr, Russell (Joanne) Crewe, Charles (Linda) Crewe, as well as many, nieces, nephews, cousins and her former in-laws. In addition to her parents, she was also predeceased by her sister, Charlene Crewe.

She loved to listen to Country music and play her guitar. NIAGARA FALLS — Stephen J. Crewe, age 57, of Niagara Falls, NY, died on Tuesday, April 10, 2012 in Our Lady of Peace Nursing Residence in Lewiston, after a long illness. Steve was born on January 27, 1955 in Niagara Falls, NY, the son of the late Howard R. and Virginia M. (Guard) Crewe.

He was a 1974 graduate of Lewiston Porter High School and had worked in Maintenance at the land fill for Modern Disposal in Model City, NY. He enjoyed his hobbies of woodworking, astrology and reading the Farmer's Almanac.

He is survived by his children, Eric Matthew, Jennifer Marie, and Kenneth Michael; two brothers, Robert (Tina) Crewe of Youngstown and Bruce (Dianne) Crewe, MD of New Smyrna Beach, FL; and his nieces and nephews, Scott H., Kaylee, Robert, Jr. and Alyssa Crewe.

Graveside Services will be held on Monday, April 16th at 10:00 AM in Niagara Falls Memorial Park Cemetery, Lewiston, with the Rev. Michael Zuffoletto officiating. There will be no prior visitation.
