    Scott B. Hughes, 71, of Niagara Falls, NY passed away on Thursday, June 20, 2024 at Our Lady of Peace Nursing Care Residence. Born in Niagara Falls, NY on December 11, 1952 he was the son of the late Francis B. and Dorothy J. (Krieger) Hughes.


    Scott graduated from Lew-Port High School in 1971 and was drafted into the United States Airforce on August 31, 1972. He served his country for 4 years and was honorable discharged on August 30, 1976 as a SGT.


    He was a certified rescue scuba diver and an avid boater on the local waterways. Scott was also a wood worker. He built the cabinets, accents, and full tables in his own home. He Also made many Christmas gifts for his nieces and nephews in his personal "Santa Work Shop." In addition, Scott loved cars, especially his 1970 Cadillac Convertible.


    Scott enjoyed working jobs that involved working with people. He always greeted everyone with a friendly smile and could never say No to anyone who was in need.


    He is survived by his wife, Susan R. (Kochanski) Hughes, whom he married November 11, 1985; siblings, Kathy J. (Mark) Oliphant and Kent B. (Sandy) Hughes; five nieces and nephews; one great-nephew and one great-niece. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, and cousins.


    Friends may call Sunday, June 23rd from 3-5 PM at ZAJAC FUNERAL HOME INC., 319 24th Street, Niagara Falls, NY, where funeral services will begin at 10:00 AM on Monday, June 24th with Rev. Jacek Mazur officiating. Burial with Military honors following in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Lewiston, NY. In Lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the American Heart Association, Heart Gifts Processing Center, P. O. Box 3049, Syracuse, NY 13220-3049 or https://www.heart.org/en/
