Charles Dueger,78, died early this morning at his home, 192 Hagen avenue. Born in Germany 78 years ago, he had resided here the past 72 years. He was president of the Twin City Dairy company when be retired 15 years ago. He was a member of the Friedens church, the Sweeney Hose company and the North Tonawanda Firemen's Benevolent association. Surviving are his wife, Lena, nee Westphal; two sons, Clarence R. of North Tonawanda and Stuart L. of Braddock, Pa.: four daughters, Mrs. Hugo Ewald, Mrs. Oliver Burgin, Mrs. Henry Janowsky and Mrs. Arthur Roloff of North Tonawanda; 13 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and six sisters, Mrs. Robert Dornfeld, Mrs. Lena Johnson, Mrs. Anna Millar and Mrs. Cortland Cary of North Tonawanda and Mrs. Mary Maul and Mrs. Martha Grieser of Tonawanda. DEATH CLAIMS R. DUEGER, TONAWANDA ATHLETE
North Tonawanda, March 6 - Death last night claimed one of North Tonawanda's best known young men in Robert Dueger. He died of typhoid fever at the home of his grandmother, Mrs. Charles Dueger, at No. 220 Hagen Avenue. Dueger was born in North Tonawanda 21 years ago and had lived here all his life. He was a baseball and football player of ability. As captain and manager of the National baseball nine last season he played first base and led his team as a batter and fielder. He played on the All-Tonawanda football eleven and on other teams.

(AKRON)Marilyn Mae Peters, age 87, died January 17, 2021 in her home surrounded by her family following a short illness. She was born January 22, 1933 in North Tonawanda to Howard and Marion (Kroop) Miller and was a life-long resident of this area. Marilyn was a former member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Wolcottsville and a 4-H Leader for the Tonawanda Torpedoes 4-H Club. By all rights, she would be called a Shepherd as she and her husband raised sheep for most of their lives on the farm. Marilyn also was a musician and was a well-known, well-respected drummer for many local bands. Mrs. Peters was predeceased by her sister Barbara. She is survived by her husband of 68 years Boyd, her sons: Daniel (Betsy) Peters of TX, Gary (Joleen) Peters of Middleport, her sister: Shirley Appleton, her grandchildren: Gary Jr., Brandon, Adam, Allison, and her great grandchildren: Chase, Everett and Weston. There will be no prior calling hours. A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family in Royalton Mountain Ridge Cemetery.

Surviving Jeff is his wife Julie Roloff and his step-sons: Luke and John Tyler both at home. Son of: Fredrika (James) Domske of Tonawanda and Jack Roloff of Austin, TX. Son-in-law of: William and Barbara Jamieson of Middleport. Brother of: Jill (Robert) Sexton of Austin, TX. Brother-in-law of: Vicki (Robert) Everett of Boston, Mass., Richard (Kathy) Jamieson of Gasport and James Jamieson of Middleport. Jeff is also survived by several cousins and many dear friends.

Gail L. (Murphy) Wendt, age 66 of Sanborn, NY, went home peacefully to be with the Lord, on Tuesday August 30, 2005 surrounded by her loving husband and children, while at the CrestWood Health Care Center.
She was born in North Tonawanda, Niagara County, NY on July 7, 1939, the daughter of Rosina Verrall Murphy of North Tonawanda, Niagara County, NY, and the late Bert Murphy, where she attended local schools. Gail was a graduate of the North Tonawanda High School in the Class of 1957. She had been employed in the offices of Spalding Fiber, Tonawanda; Twin-Ton, North Tonawanda; Jenss Bros., Niagara Falls; and the former Thiele's Diary, North Tonawanda, Niagara County, NY.
Gail was a longtime member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Martinsville, where she had served as President of the Ladies Aid Society, a member of the Board of Christian Education; a member of the church choir; and had worked in the School cafeteria for many years.
She was an avid reader who enjoyed being with her family, going traveling and camping.
Surviving in addition to her mother Rosina Murphy is her husband of 45 years, Forrest W. Wendt; a daughter, Michele [ Otto III ] Fetterhoff, of Mountverde, FL; a son, Timothy [ Lynne ] Wendt, of Grand Island, Erie County, NY; a sister, Patricia Domagala, of East Amherst, Erie County, NY; four brothers: James Murphy and Roger Murphy, both of North Tonawanda; Douglas Murphy of Chautauqua Lake, NY and Paul Murphy, of North Tonawanda, Niagara County, NY; her special grandchildren, Philip and Megan Wendt; Hans and Alexander Fetterhoff; and many nieces and nephews.
The family will be present at the RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, SANBORN, 5893 Hoover Road, from 7 - 9 PM Wednesday and 2 - 4 & 7 - 9 PM, Thursday.
