    Mary Jean (Kelly) Mellan passed away peacefully on Saturday July 7th 2018 at 90 years of age. She was a daughter of the late Earl and Evelyn (Cooney) Kelly living most of her life as a resident of Niagara Falls New York.

    She was a graduate of Trott Vocational High School and married William J Mellan on February 23rd 1946. They were together for over 50 years until his death in 1996.

    She is survived by her sons. Thomas R. Mellan of Mifflin, PA and Dennis (Jude) Mellan of Troy New York; sisters Betty Hunt Beckwith and Colleen (Dennis) Dey; 17 grandchildren 15 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

    She was also predeceased by sons William, David and Earl and infant Timothy Mellan and siblings Patricia Winkworth; Charles and Dennis Kelly and Cheryl Alcorn

    A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 10 a.m. in St John de LaSalle Roman Catholic Church, 8477 Buffalo Avenue. Niagara Falls. The interment will be held in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.

    Memorial offerings if desired may be made to St Vincent de Paul Society or the Police Athletic League. Arrangements are being handled by the Lane Funeral Home, Inc. www.lanefuneralhome.com
