    Margaret C. Zastrow (nee Miskho) age 98, of North Tonawanda, August 15, 2023, in Kenmore Mercy Hospital after a brief illness. Beloved wife of LaVern Zastrow for over 80 years. Dear mother of Valli (late Daniel) Drotter, Connie (James) Lykins, Kim Walaszek, Ronald (Carole) Zastrow, and the late Eleanor Hanes and Linda Soos. Mother-in-law of David Hanes and Larry Soos. Grandmother of 10 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and 8 and ½ great-great-grandchildren. Margaret was a former employee of Remington Rand. She served as a Past President of the former Gratwick Hose Auxiliary. She catered numerous dinners at Gratwick Hose over many years. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting, cooking and baking, Margaret also loved to travel. Friends may call at the Fretthold Funeral Home Inc. 1241 Oliver St. at Ward Rd. in North Tonawanda on Thursday from 4:00 – 8:00 PM. Funeral services will be held privately; interment will be in Elmlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.     Linda Lee Soos (Zastrow) age 75, of North Tonawanda, on December 29, 2022, angels took her to heavenly home following a five-year courageous battle with cancer. Linda, together with her husband Lawrence, owned and operated Soos’ Oliver St. Café for 38 years. She was the founder of Oliver Street Community Pride, where she spent many hours applying for grants and raising money for signage, planters, and benches along the length of Oliver St. She also initiated the Pony’s on Parade which line Oliver St. She participated in and contributed to the “Glory Be to Kids” softball tournament. She was a member of the Pierogi Ladies at O.L.C. church. In her spare time, she knitted hats, mittens, and scarves for the less fortunate children of the Black Rock area through the Boys and Girls Club. She did all these things while raising two sons. Linda was an unbelievably giving person. Beloved wife of Lawrence Soos, who was a former mayor of North Tonawanda. Dear mother of J. C. Jufer and Michael Jufer. Sister of Connie (Jim) Lykins, Valerie (late Dan) Drotter, Kim Zastrow, Ronald Zastrow, and the late Eleanor Hanes. Sister-in-law of David Hanes, aunt of many nieces and nephews. No prior visitation plans for a Celebration of Life will be announced this summer. If so desired memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or the Niagara County S.P.C.A.     Eleanor M. Hanes (Zastrow) passed away peacefully at home, in New Port Richey, Florida, on November 9, 2020 and has reunited with her beloved son, Kevin L. Hanes, in Heaven. She was born in North Tonawanda, NY, on July 21, 1943.
    She is survived by her parents, LaVern and Marge Zastrow; her husband, David; daughter, Susan (Mike); daughter-in-law, Karen (OCallaghan); three grandsons, Kevin II (Jenna), Kyle (Bobbie), and Damien; three great-grandchildren, Addison, Hunter, Ella. Eleanor was the eldest of six, survived by her four sisters and brother, Linda, Connie, Valli, Kim, Ronald.
    No services will be held.
    In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Eleanor to HPH Hospice, 6807 Rowan Rd., New Port Richey, FL 34653.
