    Obituary of Agnes Townsend

    Agnes M. Townsend passed away August 26, 2021 under the care of Niagara Hospice.  Born September 22, 1944 in Lockport she was the daughter of Joseph and Mary (Fabian) Fura.  Agnes was a seamstress for the Western New York Blind Association in Buffalo.  She enjoyed playing the organ, sewing, listening to country music.  Her greatest joy cam from raising her children and seeing her grandchildren grow into fine adults.  She was a beautiful person and had only kind words for every person she knew.  We (her family) were blessed to have her in our lives.  She will be forever loved and missed.   Agnes was predeceased by her husband Raymond P. Townsend in 1979, two sons Paul Raymond and Tony Ray Townsend, and siblings Joseph Fura and Mary Ann (late Jose) Quintana.
    Agnes is survived by her children Joseph F. (Linda) Townsend, Ray Thomas Townsend, and Tina Rae Townsend; grandchildren Angela, Amber, Amanda, Alyssa, Andrew, Raymond, Thomas, Joseph, Crystal, Jonathan, Hunter, Cherylynn, and Carissa; great grandchildren Olivia, Arya, and Toni Rae; siblings John (Jean) Fura, William (Cathy) Fura, Edward (Bruce) Fura, Catherine (late James) Behm, Nellie (late Wayne) Haseley, Christine (Carol) Fura; sister-in-law Linda Fura; also several nieces and nephews.
    Relatives and friends may call Sunday, August 29th from 2-5 PM in Prudden & Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St., Lockport.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, August 30th at 10 AM in All Saints Parish, 76 Church St., Lockport.  Interment will be in North Ridge Cemetery.  Visit pruddenandkandt.com.

    Obituary of John W. Fura

    John W. “Barney” Fura passed away Friday February 4, 2022.  Born in Lockport on December 19, 1942, he was the son of the late Joseph and Mary (Fabian) Fura.  Barney worked in production at Harrison Radiator for 30 years, retiring in 2000.  He was a longtime member of the YMCA and enjoyed camping, farming, gardening, walking, biking, playing racquetball, he coached both Lockport Little League and Lockport Little Loop, but most importantly enjoyed spending time with his adoring grandchildren.
    Barney is survived by his children Christopher Fura, Robert Fura, Alicia (James) Adamczyk, MaryJo (Charles) LaRose, and Jennifer (Mark) Bucholtz; grandchildren Kristi, Kiana, Nathan, Nicole, Christopher, Megan, Brianna, Kaitlynn, Nicholas, and the late Ashley and Mitchell; great granddaughter Bonnie Jean; siblings William (Cathy) Fura, Edward (Bruce) Fura, Catherine (late James) Behm, Nellie (late Wayne) Haseley, Christine (Carol Dettbarn) Fura and the late Joseph Fura, Mary Ann (late Jose) Quintana and Agnes Townsend.
    Friends may call on Tuesday February 8th 4-7 PM at Prudden and Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee Street, Lockport.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday February 9th at 10 AM at All Saints Parish Oratory, 391 Market Street, Lockport.  Interment will be in Cold Spring Cemetery.  Online Condolences at www.pruddenandkandt.com.

    Paul R. Townsend peacefully entered into rest on November 28, 2018 in Buffalo General Medical center.  Born September 26, 1965 he is the son of Agnes (Fura) Townsend and the late Raymond P. Townsend.  Paul enjoyed motorcycles, hot rods, and was a die hard Raiders fan.  Besides his mother Paul is survived by his wife of 30 years Cori (Provenzano) Townsend; daughters Cherylynn and Carissa Townsend; siblings Joseph F. (Linda) Townsend, Ray Thomas, Tina Rae, and late Tony Townsend; brother-in-law Richard (Darcy) Provenzano; also survived by his dog Diesel, several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and many great friends.

    LOCKPORT — Tony Ray Townsend passed away November 20, 2010 in Eastern Niagara Hospital, Lockport. Born October 16, 1971, he was the beloved son of Agnes (nee Fura) and the late Raymond P. Townsend. Besides his mother, Tony left surviving his cherished son, Hunter S. Townsend, the pride of his life and fiancee, Kari Balk and her daughter, Michaila; brother of Joseph F. (Linda), Paul Raymond (Cori), Ray Thomas and Tina Rae; also left surviving, several aunts and uncles; seven nieces and five nephews; several cousins and many friends.

    Tony enjoyed owning and operating TNT Paving and Sealing and Center Street/B & M Auto businesses. He attended St. Joseph's (All Saints) his entire life and also was an altar boy and later on, an usher there. His hobbies included hunting, playing cards, caring for his animals and dog Raider, and watching the Yankees, Raiders and Bruins. Tony spent most of his time helping others, especially his family. He will be sadly missed.

    Relatives and friends may call Friday 2-4 and 7-9 PM in Prudden & Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee Street, Lockport. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 11 AM in St. Joseph’s Church, 391 Market Street, Lockport. Interment will be in North Ridge Cemetery.
