AUGUST C. JAENECKE
August C. Jaenecke, 89, of 107 Zimmerman street, a life-long resident and a member of the St. Matthew's Evangelical Lutheran church, died this morning at his home after a prolonged illness. He is survived by two sons, Julius and Arnold of North Tonawanda; two daughters, Mrs. Rose Kaufmann of North Tonawanda and Mrs. O. F. Gentzke of Tonawanda; 19 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, a brother, William Jaenecke of North Tonawanda, and three sisters, Mrs. Mary Hake of Alden, Mrs. Elizabeth Kopp of Ransomville and Mrs. Anna Goltz of North Tonawanda. Two of the grandsons, Pvt. Norman Jaenecke of the U. S. Army and Pvt. Otto Gentzke of the U. S. Marines, are serving with the armed forces. Rites will be held Thursday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock from the residence. The Rev. Carl Frankenstein will officiate. Burial will be in St. Matthew's cemetery.

(nee Jaenecke) Gentzke, 86, of 61 Morgan St., Tonawanda, died Tuesday evening (May 2, 1967) in DeGraff Memorial Hospital after a brief illness.Born in Martinsville, she had been a resident of this area all her life and was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and a charter member of the Ladies Guild and Missionary Society of the church. Survivors include her husband, Otto F. Gentzke Sr.; four daughters, Mrs. John (Helen) Schulz. Mrs. Edmund Erma) Hoffmeister, Mrs. Martin (Verna) Wambsganss and Mrs. Edward (Virginia) Kopp, all of the Tonawandas; six sons, Wilbert F. of North Tonawanda. Marvin F. of Barker, N.Y., Harley H. of Niagara Falls, Frank L., Walter G. and Otto F. Gentzke Jr., all of the Tonawandas, and a sister, Mrs. Rose A. Kaufman of North Tonawanda. Also survived by 23 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. Friends may call at John O. Roth Funeral Home, Morgan and William Streets, Tonawanda until noon Friday. For many years, Ginny packaged and boxed cookies for men and women serving in the US Military. She was the wife of the late Edward W. Kopp; daughter of the late Otto and Lillian (nee Jaenecke) Gentzke; and sister of the late Helen Schulz, Erma Hoffmeister, Verna Wambsganss, twins Rubin and Richard, Raymond, Wilbur, Marvin, Harley, Frank, Walter and Otto, Jr. Gentzke. She is survived by four step-children, Weston and Kendall Kopp, Yvonne Stark and Gayle Wais; and two sisters-in-law, Eleanor (the late Wilbur) Gentzke and Anita Wilson. NORTH TONAWANDA - Robert Gentzke died December 10, 2010 in the home with his wife, Marjorie, and family at his side. He died peacefully anticipating heaven. He was born in North Tonawanda to Wilbert and Eleanor Gentzke on February 1, 1931 and was baptized at St. Mark's Lutheran Church. Robert attended grade school at St. Mark's Lutheran School from 1935-1944. He was confirmed on Psalm Sunday in 1944. He attended high school at North Tonawanda High School 1944-1948. Robert attended college at Valparaiso University and graduated in 1952. Robert was married to Marjorie Rutz on June 7, 1952. He attended Concordia Theological Seminary in Springfield, IL 1952-1957, and vicared at Mount Olive Lutheran Church in Minneapolis 1955-1956. The churches he pastored were Bethel Lutheran, Fort Smith, AR„2 years; Trinity, Mena, AR„2 years; Concordia, Nashville, TN „2 years; Chapel of the Cross, Kansas City, MO 20 years. He started Our Savior and Immanuel Lutheran Missions. The church offices that Robert held were LLL Pastoral Advisor for Tennessee District, Circuit Counselor of Nashville Circuit, Pastoral Advisor LWML, Nashville, Christian Chaplaincy Community of Kansas City, and Missionary at Large, Kansas City. Robert is survived by his wife, Marjorie; his mother, Eleanor Gentzke of North Tonawanda; his brother, Ronald Gentzke and wife, JoAnn of Niagara Falls; four children, Phyllis and Michael McGrady, Bruce and Lisa Gentzke, Richard and Patricia Tallon, Dr. Alan and Sheri Zinke; 13 grandchildren, Travis and Heather McGrady, Cassie and Doug Foreman, Kyle and Karen McGrady and Tyler McGrady, Grant Tallon, Alyssa Mandy and Holly Zinke, Brandon, Eric, Katie and Ashley Gentzke, Christina Gentzke (deceased); great-grandchildren, Wesley and Sara Elizabeth McGrady, Jacob and Anna Foreman. OBITUARY

Marilyn L. Koithan, of the Town of Wheatfield, passed away on Tuesday, February 18, 2020, in Northgate Health Care Facility.  She was born in  Tonawanda, NY, on January 11, 1934,  the daughter of the late Edmund and Erma [Gentzke] Hoffmeister.
Mrs. Koithan helped her husband on the family farm and ran the farm's fruit stand every fall. She was known as the "Apple Lady".   She also liked gardening, sewing, and crafts.  
She was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church.
Mrs. Koithan was the wife of the late Herbert A. Koithan, who passed away in May of 2018.
She is survived by  her children David Koithan, Robert (Krisann) Koithan, Brenda (Brooks) Rimes, Kevin Koithan (Eva Liao) and Timothy (Sherrill) Koithan, 18 grandchildren - Jennifer (Kevin) Josing, Amanda (David) Benavidez, Colleen (Chris) Brown, Sarah Koithan, Kim Koithan, Melissa Koithan, Kelly (Christian) Siezega,  Kaitlyn Koithan, Allison Koithan, Jason Rimes, Nathan (Kristin) Rimes, Brett (Jocelin) Rimes, Matthew Koithan, John Koithan, Lydia Liao, Nicholas Koithan, Bailey Koithan, Jacob Koithan and 14 great grandchildren – Payton Josing, Kyle Josing, Alex Josing, Violet  and Jacob Benavidez, Gina Brown, Gabriella Brown, Joseph Brown, Christian Brown, Daphne Rimes, Angel Rimes, Katie Rimes, Caleb Rimes and Naomi Rimes, two brothers Gerald (Ingrid) Hoffmeister and Edmund (Pam) Hoffmeister, Jr., also many nieces and nephews.

BRUCE A. GENTZKE
Bruce A. Gentzke, age 56, of Overland Park, KS, went home to his Lord on Thursday, May 3, 2012. He was born on February 10, 1956 in Minneapolis, Minnesota, the son of Marjorie (Rutz) and Robert W. Gentzke. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Christina Grace Gentzke, and his father, Reverend Robert W. Gentzke and now Bruce Joins them in heaven. Bruce graduated with a Bachelors degree from Missouri State University. He was employed by Sprint and CenturyLink for 17 years. He was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church, both located in Overland Park, Kansas. Bruce enjoyed being an American Royal Bar-B- Que Judge for 13 years with his best- friends all nicknamed "Ditch." Survivors include his wife, Lisa Gentzke, and their children, Brandon, Eric, Katie, and Ashley Gentzke. He is also survived by his mother, Marjorie Gentzke of Nixa, Missouri, His Grandmother Eleanor Gentzke of North Tonawanda, NY. Sisters Phyllis McGrady and husband Mike of Shelby Township, Michigan; Trish Tallon and husband Rick of Branson, Missouri; and Sheri Zinke and husband Alan of Nixa, Missouri, and many nieces and nephews.
