    Elizabeth M. (Certo) Pfleger, 102, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on January 23, 2022 at her residence under the care of Niagara Hospice.  Born in Niagara Falls, NY, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Catherine (Antonucci) Certo.
    Lizzie was a graduate of Niagara Falls High School.  She was employed in her family’s business, Certo Brothers Distributing Company, for over 50 years as Secretary & Treasurer.  During World War II, Lizzie was instrumental in running the day-to-day operations of the company while her brothers were serving in the military.  On August 31, 1968, she married Robert J. Pfleger in Niagara Falls, NY.  Mr. Pfleger predeceased her on September 24, 2013.  Lizzie was a renowned ballroom dancer, and won many competitions with her husband.  She was an excellent cook and baker, and enjoyed traveling and visiting many casinos.  She was a member of the Altar & Rosary Society at St. Mary of the Cataract Church.  Her work ethic and commitment to her family made her the ideal role model for her female nieces.
    Elizabeth is survived by her step children, Suzanne Pfleger and Jeffery A. Pfleger, and her step-granddaughter, Emily Pfleger; her sister, Mary Certo Morinello Rolle, as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great nephews and cousins.  She was predeceased by her siblings, Margaret (late Frank) (late Palmer) Serianni, Ken (late Katie) Certo, Albert (late Josephine) Certo, Henry (Natalie) Certo, and Hon. Anthony (late Rita) Certo.
    We express a thank you to all our aunt’s caretakers for their dedication to her and a special thank you to Christine Weber for her love of our aunt and for her giving her 5 years of exciting life.
    Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 27 from 4 – 7 PM at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY 14304.  Elizabeth’s Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday at 10 AM at St. Mary of the Cataract Church, 237 4th Street, Niagara Falls, NY 14303.  Everyone please assemble at church.  Flowers are graciously declined.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Drive, Lockport, NY 14094.  Visit mjcoluccifuneralchapel.com for online condolences.

    Mary F. Certo Morinello Rolle, 100, of Lewiston, NY, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 17, 2022 surrounded by her loving family while under the care of Niagara Hospice. Born in Niagara Falls, NY, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Catherine (Antonucci) Certo.
    Mary attended local schools and graduated from Niagara Falls High School. She was employed at her family’s business, Certo Brothers Distributing Company, for over 50 years as the payroll specialist. Mary took great pride in working fulltime, but never losing sight as being a devoted mother. She also cherished the time spent in Phoenix, AZ, being a caretaker to her father for many years.
    Mary was a devout Catholic and longtime member of the Third Sunday Sodality Group, as well as the St. Joseph’s Mother’s Club.
    Mary was an avid reader and enjoyed completing word scramble puzzles daily. She also loved playing the lottery and going to the Casino. Above all, Mary centered her life around her beloved family. She will be greatly remembered as a wonderful person who was like a mother to everyone.
    Mary is survived by her children, Hon. Angelo J. (Rose) Morinello, NYS Assemblyman, Laura (late Frank) Morinello-LaVia and Vincent (Karen) Rolle; her grandchildren, Melissa (Joseph Genovese) Morinello, Matthew (Grace Labbe) Morinello, Maximos Rolle, Karoline Rolle, Niko Rolle and Marco Rolle; her-greatgrandchildren, Giuliana and Raffaela Genovese; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, all of whom she cherished as her own children. Mary was predeceased by her first husband, Manny Morinello and her second husband, Aldo Rolle; and her siblings, Margaret (late Frank) (late Palmer) Serianni, Ken (late Katie) Certo, Albert (late Josephine) Certo, Henry (Natalie) Certo, Hon. Anthony (late Rita) Certo and Elizabeth M. (late Robert) Pfleger.
    Mary’s family wishes to extend a special thank you to Niagara Hospice and Mary’s special caretaker, Daniella Gorman for the loving care and compassion.
    Visitation will be on Tuesday, February 22 from 3 – 7 PM at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY.     Peter I. Certo, 63, of Grand Island, NY passed away unexpectedly on July 5, 2017. Born in Niagara Falls, NY, he was the son of Natalie (Bator) Certo of Niagara Falls and the late Andrea Henry P. Certo, Sr. 
    Peter was a lifelong resident.  He attended local schools and graduated from the former Bishop Duffy High School in 1971, and Niagara County Community College in 1973. In 1974, Peter married his beloved wife, Rose M. (Korman) Certo.  Peter has served as President of Certo Brothers Distributing Company since 1992, a family business founded in 1912. Peter was well respected in the beer wholesale industry receiving numerous awards and accolades.  He served as board member and chairman of the New York State Beer Wholesalers Association for the past 31 years, and in 1995 was awarded their prestigious SAMMY Award for his achievements.  His company was also the recipient of the MillerCoors Presidents Award in 2006, 2011 and 2013, as well as the MillerCoors Responsibility Award in 2014.  Peter led his company through the major brand additions of Genesee Beer and Miller Brewing Company brands, as well as the expansion of many brands throughout the 5 western counties of NY from the acquisition of twelve other Western New York wholesalers.  His company has been the top distributor of Molson Beer for the past 40 plus years.   Peter treated all of his employees like family and his door was always open to any of their concerns and needs. 
     Mr. Certo was a generous benefactor to numerous local charities. He was a board member of the Niagara County Community College Foundation since 1980, active supporter of the Buffalo Sabres Alumni and founder of the Lockport Canoe Club.  Peter was an avid golfer.  He was a member of Park Country Club, River Oaks Golf Club and honorary member of the Western New York PGA.  In his leisure time, he enjoyed swimming and had a passion for aviation and battle ships.  Above all, Peter was a devoted husband, father and grandfather, who loved entertaining his family and friends.

    In addition to his wife of and mother, Peter is survived by his three daughters, Sharon M. (Gary) Chislett, Stephanie Certo and Traci (James) Murphy, five grandchildren, Trevor, Zachary and Sara Chislett, Samantha Meierer and James Peter Murphy, his brothers and sisters, Cathy (Ron) Vilardo, Andrea Hank (Shayne) Certo, Jr.,  Marie (Ken) DeMont, Joseph (Nancy Molyneux) Certo, Ken (Tracey) Certo, Dr. Margaret Certo, and Mark (Kristin) Certo, his mother-in-law, Mary Korman,  his former son-in-law, Sean Meierer, lifelong friend, Bob Cammarata, as well as aunts, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. 

    Visitation will be on Saturday from 6 – 8 p.m. and Sunday 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY. Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday July 10th at 11:00 a.m. in St. Raphael Parish, 3840 Macklem Ave. Niagara Falls, NY. EVERYONE PLEASE ASSEMBLE AT CHURCH.
