Mrs. Lena Pipenhagen
Mm. Lena Pipenhagen, seventy-eight years old, died last night at the home of her daughter, Mrs. William Wrege of the Witmer road, near St. Johnsburg. Mrs Pipenhagen had been an invalid for the last three years. Three daughters, Mrs. Wrege, Mrs. John Hacker of North Tonawanda and Mrs. Herman Wrege of Ransomville and one brother, Gustav Pipenhagen of North Ridge, sixteen grandchildren survive. The funeral will be held Saturday afternoon at ... and half an hour later at St. Mark’s church on Washington Street, North Tonawanda. Burial will be at St. Johnsburg and Rev. Paul Fretthold will officiate.

NORTH TONAWANDA, April 24 - Mrs. Mary C. Wrege. 68, died yesterday at her home, 225 Ward road. Born in Germany, she came to America when a young woman and had resided in this locality since. She is survived by three sons, Herman and William, Jr., of North Tonawanda, and Walter, of Dunkirk; three daughters, Mrs. Hubert Holland, of Niagara. Ealls, Mrs, Otto Zimmerman, of North Tonawanda, and Mrs. George Sattelberg, of the Town of Wheatfield; 20 grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, a sister, Mrs. Herman Wrege, of Ransomville, and a brother, August Piepenhagen, of Wilson. Funeral services will 'be held Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the residence and at 2:30 from the St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran church In Washington street. The Rev. She volunteered at DeGraff Hospital in the gift shop for many years. Ruth was an active member of St. Mark Lutheran Church. She enjoyed singing in the choir and was involved in several church activities. Ruth loved to travel, spending many winters in Phoenix Arizona. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents Waldemar and Alice Hacker, brother John William Hacker, niece Lisa Smith, and nephew John Stephen Hacker. She is survived by her niece Laura Sikora, grand niece Christen Sikora and grand nephew Matthew Smith. A memorial service will be scheduled at St Mark Lutheran Church in North Tonawanda. Obituary

Betty J. Wrege (Fiala) age 91, entered into rest on October 4, 2020, and her beloved husband of 70 years, Herman F. “Skip” Wrege, age 91, joined her on December 7, 2020. They were the loving parents of John Wrege, Linda Jaspersen, Karen Hormachea and Laura Cunningham. They were grandparents of 15 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.  Betty was a devoted mother and wife who worked as a teachers aide in the Tonawanda School District and served as a Eucharistic Minister at St. Francis of Assisi R. C. Church in Tonawanda. She was on the Restoration Committee of the St. Francis of Assisi Chapel where she and her husband will be put to rest. Skip was a WWII U. S. Navy veteran. He had worked early in his career as the Foreman in the metal shop for the Wurlitzer Company, later on he became owner and operator of Rege Precision Tooling Inc.  He was a life-long member of the Gratwick Hose Fire Co.  Because of the current Covid 19 restrictions the family will be holding services privately. If so desired donations may be made in their honor to Hospice Buffalo, or the VA of Western New York, Home based Primary Care.

NORTH TONAWANDA — Jean D. (Wrege) Phillips, age 88, of North Tonawanda, was called to her heavenly home on Saturday, June 18, 2011 at her residence. Born in North Tonawanda, NY, on June 18, 1923 to the late William and Elizabeth (Hoffmeister) Wrege.

She was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church in North Tonawanda and was a devoted homemaker. Jean was the beloved wife of the late George M. Phillips and was also predeceased by a brother, William Wrege, Jr.

Loving mother of four children, Sharyn E., Daniel G., David M. (Marsha), all of North Tonawanda and Dennis P. of Fort Meyers Beach, FL; also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

WHEATFIELD - Howard R. Sattelberg, age 88, of Wheatfield, passed away Monday, November 8, 2010 in Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital. Born July 1, 1922 in North Tonawanda, son of the late George and Minnie Sattelberg.

Mr. Sattelberg served in the United States Army during WWII. He retired from the DuPont Plant in the Town of Tonawanda, where he held positions in shipping and receiving. Mr. Sattelberg was a member of Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, member of the DuPont Retiree's Club and the American Legion Post 264.

Husband of the late Mary M Sattelberg (nee Bishop); beloved father of Carol Sattelberg and the late Alan ( Mary) Sattelberg; brother of the late LaVern Sattelberg; brother-in-law of Dorothy Watt, Carolyn (Leonard) Sicurella and the late Helen Bowman; also survived by many nieces and nephews.

SATTELBERG - LaVern B. (sic) Sattelberg. Services were held this morning at 10:30 a.m., from the Fretthold Funeral Home, Inc. 1241 Oliver St., North Tonawanda, for LaVern G. Sattelberg, 44, of Niagara Falls, N.Y. who died Saturday (Nov. 6, 1971) after a brief illness. Mr. Sattelberg was a member of St. Martin Lutheran Church. Janice Ruth Voelker, age 61 of Ransomville, died unexpectedly on Thursday August 17, 2017 at the Eastern Niagara Hospital in Lockport.
 
Janice was born July 18, 1956 in Buffalo, NY, the daughter of the late Glenwood J. and Margaret (Goldpenny) Moeller. A lifelong resident, she was a 1974 graduate of Wilson High School. Janice was employed as an office clerk by Franklin Global Strategies in Wheatfield. She was a very active member of St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church at North Ridge where she married Philip D. Voelker on July 26, 1986. Janice taught Sunday School and was a member of the choir. She was a member of the Pioneer Association of Volunteers and had a lifelong involvement with "Camp Pioneer" in Angola. Janice also was a member of the Women's Missionary League.
 
Philip predeceased her on October 4, 2012. She is survived by two brothers, Tim (Judi) Moeller of North Tonawanda and Daniel Moeller of Johnson City, TN; and a Goddaughter, Allisa Smith.
 
Friends may call at HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, 3648 Ransomville Road, Ransomville on Monday from 3 - 7 PM. (nee Erickson) (Paul) Kroetsch; grandmother of Bryan, Michael and Lauren; daughter of the late Cornelius and Esther (nee Wrege) Miller; sister of Barbara Kulju, David (Mary) and Timothy Miller; also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A 1963 graduate of North Tonawanda H.S., Kathleen worked 41 years in the offices of Columbus McKinnon. Kathleen was a lifelong devout Catholic. She was a parishioner at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church before its closure in 2008 and at Our Lady of Czestochowa Church since that time. She loved to volunteer her time at church ministries and functions. She loved traveling, football and above all spending time with her family. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, January 13th, from 4-7 PM, at JOHN O. ROTH FUNERAL HOME, INC., 25 William St. (between Morgan and Broad Sts.), in Tonawanda.
