    Of North Tonawanda, age 73, passed away December 24, 2017.
    Son of the late Robert and Edith York. Beloved husband of Sharon (nee Schumacher) York. Father of Richard ( Keli) and Ronald (Terri) York; grandfather of Atticus and Alex York and Madison Austin and Marcie Shreve; brother of Catherine Harding of FL, twin brother Robert (Linda) York, William (Liz) York, Nancy Martinez and the late Barbara Kreamer; brother in law of Laura (late Donald) Schumacher and Gordon ( late Doris) Schumacher.
    Visitation will be on Friday (December 29) 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM in the WATTENGEL FUNERAL HOME, 533 Meadow Drive North Tonawanda. Funeral Services Saturday (December 30) at 10 AM from St. Mark Lutheran Church, 1135 Oliver St. North Tonawanda. Entombment will be in Acacia Park Cemetery. 
    Dick was a recreational pilot, a 19 year member of the Niagara Frontier Flying Club in Niagara Falls. Dick was a retired licensed electrician with 
    the IBEW Local 237.
    In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Niagara Hospice.

    Notes:

    Robert J. York, 80, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on April 23, 2024 at Niagara Hospice House in Lockport, NY.  Born in Niagara Falls, NY, he was the son of the late Robert R. and Edith L. (Clark) York.
    Bob was a graduate of LaSalle Senior High School.  On August 13, 1966, he married Linda (Rainer) York at St. John de LaSalle Church.  She predeceased him on February 9, 2021.  Bob was employed as an Electrician with IBEW Local #237 from 1969 until his retirement in 2002.  Throughout his life, Bob dedicated his life to others through volunteer firefighting, EMT, and auxiliary service.  He was a longtime member of Lewiston Fire Company #2 and proudly served as Fire Chief, Assistant Fire Chief, Trustee and on the Hazmat team, among other roles.   He was a former EMT with Tri-Community, also was very proud of his work with the Coast Guard Auxiliary. 
    In his spare time, Bob enjoyed playing golfing, boating, camping and traveling extensively.  Above all he took great pleasure in spending time with his family, especially his great-grandson, Chanse.
    Robert is survived by his children, David R. (fianceé Lori Mix) York and Jeffrey R. York (Jennifer Luick); his cherished granddaughters, Colleen, Lindsey, Cassie and Kendra York; his adored, great-grandson, Chanse; his siblings, William E. (Elizabeth) York and Nancy L. Martinez (James) Heft, as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife of 54 years, he was predeceased by his twin brother, Richard D. (Sharon) York, and sisters, Catherine J. Harding and Barbara J. Kreamer.
    Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 28 from 2 – 6 PM at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY 14304, where funeral services will begin on Monday at 11 AM.  Interment in Niagara Falls Memorial Park Cemetery, Lewiston, NY.  In lieu of flowers, memorial offerings may be made to the Lewiston Fire Company #2, https://lewiston2fire.org/donate.  Visit mjcoluccifuneralchapel.com for online condolences.

    Robert married RAINER, Linda on 13 Aug 1966 in Niagara Falls, Niagara County, NY. Linda (daughter of RAINER, Alfred E and DAWSON, Betty Ann) was born about 1947 in Niagara Falls, Niagara County, NY; died on 9 Feb 2021 in Niagara Falls Memorial Hospital, Niagara Falls, Niagara County, NY.
