    LEWISTON — Francis E. Rinehart, 81, of the Town of Niagara, NY, passed from this life on Saturday, December 21, 2013 in Our Lady of Peace Nursing Care Residence in Lewiston, NY. Born on March 23, 1932 in Clearfield, PA, he was the son of the late Walter and Effa (Pierce) Rinehart.

    Mr. Rinehart attended schools in Pennsylvania and came to Niagara Falls, NY at the age of 18. Upon coming to Niagara Falls, Francis began working for Hooker Chemical (Occidental), where he was employed as a Tank Repairman, retiring in the early 1990s. He proudly served in the United States Army, until his honorable discharge on January 31, 1961. On July 11, 1968, Mr. Rinehart married the former Shirley M. Malaney.

    In addition to his loving wife, Mr. Rinehart is survived by two children, Cynthia (Paul) Kowalczyk of Niagara Falls, NY and Eric (Bev) Rinehart of Wellsville, NY; one step-daughter, Deborah Casey of Florida; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and a special nephew, James (Phyllis) Howell of South Carolina. Francis is also survived by many other nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by one step-son, James Casey; one sister, Alice Howell; two brothers and one sister.

    There will be no prior visitation. Private inurnment will be held in Niagara Falls Memorial Park Cemetery in Lewiston, NY. If desired, memorial offerings may be made to a charity of one's choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of OTTO REDANZ FUNERAL HOME, 2215 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY (716-297-9007).

    Cynthia N. "Cindy" Kowalczyk, 62, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on April 5, 2020 at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center. Born in Niagara Falls, NY, she was the daughter of the late Francis Rinehart (late Shirley Malaney) and late Patricia A. Loercher (late Frank Lacey).
    Cindy graduated from Lewiston-Porter High School in 1976. On August 4, 1978, she married her high school sweetheart, Paul R. Kowalczyk, at North Ridge Methodist Church in Ransomville, NY. They shared 45 memorable years together.
    Cindy was employed as an assistant manager at Rainbow Clothing, and also at Mikasa. Most recently, she worked as a kitchen and cafeteria aide at Niagara Falls High School.
    Cindy was affiliated with the Niagara Royalettes and LaSalle Wrestling when her children were younger. She enjoyed to travel, dance with her husband, and play cards and board games. She was a very proud military mom, as both of her children served in the military and were honorably discharged. In addition, she loved plants and animals, especially in her younger years. Above all, she will be remembered as a loving wife , full time mother, housewife, and grandmother that cherished the time spent with her family and friends.
    Cindy is at peace after dealing with various health issues over the years. The family would like to extend a special thank you to DaVita Dialysis for the care shown to Cindy.
    In addition to her husband of over 41 years, Cindy is survived by her children, Michael P. Kowalczyk and Sarah C. Kowalczyk (late Antonio Ramirez); her grandson, Antonio Paul Ramirez; her brother, Eric Rinehart, brother-in-law, Chester (Georgianna) Kowalczyk; and sister-in-law, late Carol (Harold "Bill") Farley. She was the daughter-in-law of the late Walter (Sophie) Kowalczyk.
    A memorial service will be held at a later date to be announced.
