Mrs. Alvina Berndt Dies
NORTH TONAWANDA, April
14-Mrs.. Alvina, Berndt, 67., of
376 .Thompson ,St. died yesterday
at her home. Mrs. Berndt was
born in the Town of Wheatfield
and was the widow of Frank
Bernat. Surviving are two sons,
Herbert and Norman Berndt, both
of this city; two brothers, Fred
Pokelwaldt, Medina, and Herman
PokelwaIdt,this city; a sister, Mrs.
Anna Heineman, Clarence. Funeral
services will be held Thursday at
2 p.m. at the Wattengell Funeral
Home with the Rev. Carl E Berges
officiating and interment in Friedens
Cemetery

TONAWANDA - Norman
H. Berndt, 51, of 40 Elm St.,
a driver for the Frontier Taxi
Co., died Friday (Feb. 8, 1963)
at DeGraff Memorial Hospital
after an illness of nine days.
He was a lifelong resident
of the Tonawandas and a
member of St. Fransis of
Assisl Church.
Surviving are his widow,
Loretta Milliman Berndt; a
daughter, Miss Sylvia Berndt,
at home; a brother, Herbert
C. Berndt, North Tonawanda;
and three grandchildren.
Prayers will be said at 9
a.m. Monday at the Wattengell
Funeral Home, followed
by Requiem Mass at 9:30 a.m.
at St. Francis Church. Burial
will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery.
