Notes:

Richard J. Mathew, 67, of West Lafayette, formerly of Wolcott, passed away Tuesday, September 11, 2012 at his residence.
He was born December 21, 1944 in Wolcott to the late Herman and Ora (Marquis) Mathew. He graduated from Wolcott High School in 1962, and later from the University of Illinois in Champaign.
He worked for UPS in Indianapolis for a few years.
Richard was a former member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Remington, and after moving to West Lafayette, he started attending St. Ann Catholic Church.
He loved the outdoors and enjoyed taking trips to Las Vegas where he enjoyed playing poker.
Surviving are three brothers; Gerald Mathew (wife: Marilyn) of Monticello, Charles Mathew of Rensselaer and Ernest Mathew of Avon Park, Florida, and two sisters; Rosemary McCallister (husband: Robert) of Speer, Illinois and Donnamae Mathew of Chicago, Illinois.
Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. until the time of rosary service at 9:45 a.m. prior to his funeral mass at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 13, 2012 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Remington. Father Dave Hellman officiating; burial of ashes to follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery of Remington.
