Benjamin A. Walck
SANBORN - Benjamin A. Walck, 88, of 2595 Lockport Road, died Thursday (Jan. 23, 1975) in Mount St. Mary's Hospital after a brief illness.
A life-long resident of Sanborn, he had operated a farm on Lockport Road for most of his life. He was a member of St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church and had served as an elder at the church.
He is survived by his wife, Laura (Wendt) Walck of this town; two daughters, Mrs. Hubert (Norma) Pfohl and Mrs. Herbert (Emily) DuBois, both of this town; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was the father of the late Allen and Benjamin C. Walck.
Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Walmore Road, with the Rev. Harold L Baum officiating. Burial will be in St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Rhoney Funeral Home, Sanborn, today from 7 to 9 p.m. and Saturday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Memorials may be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Association.

Norma A. Pfohl, age 99, of Sanborn, NY, passed away on Sunday, November 23, 2014, in Our Lady of Peace Nursing Care Residence. She was born in the Town of Wheatfield, on April 25, 1915, the daughter of the late Benjamin and Laura [Wendt] Walck.

Mrs. Pfohl was a life long resident of the Sanborn area. She helped her husband Hubert run the family farm for many years. She was a lifetime member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church Walmore and loved spending time with her family and friends. Mrs. Pfohl and her husband lovingly took care of their invalid daughter the late Karen Pfohl, who died in 1999.

She was the wife of the late Hubert F. Pfohl, who died in September of 2003. Mrs. Pfohl is survived by two daughters Beverly (Charles) Pendergast and Janet (David) Tober both of Sanborn, five grandchildren Mark (Nancy) Miller, Kristen (Johnny) Seawell, Rachel (Daryl) Haseley, Beth (Steven) Guidetti and Michael (Stephanie) Tober, ten great grandchildren Lauren, Ryan and Addison Miller, Brett and Jeremiah Seawell, Lauren and Riley Haseley, Emily Guidetti and Luke and Jane Tober. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Benjamin Walck, Emily DuBois and Allen Walck.

The family will be present on Friday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 5893 Hoover Road, SANBORN, NY. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday at 11:00 AM at St. Peter Lutheran Church, 6168 Walmore Road, Sanborn, NY, with the Rev. Bruce M. Gamache officiating.

Memorials may be made in her name to St. Peter's Lutheran Church or to Our Lady of Peace Nursing Care Residence. Interment at St. Peter Lutheran Cemetery, Sanborn, NY.

SANBORN - Benjamin C. Walck Jr., 54, of 2617 Lockport Road, died Wednesday Mount St. Mary's Hospital after a long illness.
He was a native of the Town of Wheatfield and served during World War II with the U.S. Army.
Mr. Walck had worked for the New York State Highway Department for 15 years at the time of his death and was a member of St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church Walmore, Wheatfield American Legion Post 145 Amvets Post 26 of North Tonawanda, Civil Service Employees Association, and the American Federation of State, County, and municipal employees.
He is survived by his widow Lorena; four daughters Louise, Barbara, and Linda Walck of Sanborn, and Mrs. David (Marie) Shannon of Key, West, Fla.; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Walck, and two sisters, Mrs. Hubert (Norma) Pfohl and Mrs. Herbert (Emily) DuBois all of Sanborn; and one grandson, three nieces and two nephews.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church with the Rev. Harold L. Baum officiating. Burial will be in St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery.
The family will be present at Rhoney Funeral Home, Hoover Road, from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and from 2 to 4, and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday.

She was a lifelong member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church and was a member of the Organization of Women of the church,
Surviving are her husband, Herbert DuBois; two sons, Douglas of North Tonawanda and Calvin of Sanborn; a sister Mrs. Hubert (Norma) Pfohl of Sanborn; and a number nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers, Allan and Benjamin Walck.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Paul Wittenberg officiating. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today and Tuesday the at the Rhoney Funeral Home, 5893 Hoover Road.

Karen A. Pfohl, 51, of Schoellkopf Health Center, Niagara Falls, who worked as a clerk in the X-ray department of Mount St. Mary's Hospital, Lewiston, for several years, died Wednesday (Dec. 8, 1999) in the health center after a 30-year bout with multiple sclerosis.
Miss Pfohl was born in Niagara Falls and was a graduate of Niagara-Wheatfield High School.
She worked as a secretary for several years at Errick Road School, Wheatfield, and had worked for several years at Mount St. Mary's Hospital until the time of her illness.
Miss Pfohl was a lifelong member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, where she taught Sunday school at one time.
She had lived in the health center for the past five years and prior to that resided at home with her parents.
Survivors include her parents, Hubert and Norma, and two sisters, Beverly Pendergast and Janet Tober.
Services will be held at 11 A.M. Saturday in St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Walmore Road. Burial will be in St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery

Marie Ann Shannon, 58, passed away in her home on Thursday, September 27, 2012.
She is predeceased in death by her father, Benjamin Walck; and her ex-husband, David Shannon. She is survived by her daughter, April Threet (Anthony) of Virginia; her son, John Shannon (Deborah) and granddaughter, Natalya of West Point, NY; her mother, Lorena Broecker (Burton); her three sisters, Louise Schildhauer (Gary), Barbara St. Onge, Linda DeDario (Charles); many nieces and nephews; and her companion, Dan Light. She loved her dogs and enjoyed the warm sunny weather at the beach and poolside. A memorial service will be held at DuBois Funeral Home in Bergholz at 11 AM on Saturday, November 10th. Calvin Herbert DuBois, age 64 of Sanborn, NY, was called to his heavenly home on September 17, 2021 at the Niagara Hospice House in Lockport. Born in Niagara Falls, NY on November 29, 1956; son of the late Herbert and Emily (Walck) DuBois. A graduate of Niagara Wheatfield High School, and Alfred State Technical College. Calvin was employed with the Carpenters Local 276, until his retirement. He was a life long active member of St. Peter's Lutheran Chruch, Sanborn, where he served as a reader, trustee, church school picnic committee, and anytime something needed to be repaired, he was there. Calvin was also a member of the Sanborn Fire Company Band, Sanborn Business Men's Bowling, and the 3F Club of Youngstown. In his younger years, he was on the church league basket ball team, church bowling, and floor hockey. He enjoyed the quality time spent with his family, hunting, snowmobiling, and vacations at the camp in Allegany State Park. Survivors include his wife, Lisa M. (Heard) DuBois. They were married May 30, 1981; two children, Danielle E. (Seth) Ardrey of Ft. Collins, and Jeffrey C DuBois (Fiance Liz Warkentin) of Sanborn; a brother, Douglas (Barb) DuBois; and many brother and sister in laws; nieces, nephews, and cousins.Friends may call at the DuBois Funeral Home, 2436 Niagara Road, (Bergholz) in Wheatfield, on Tuesday, September 21, from 4-8 p.m. Services will be conducted by the Rev. Thomas Thorstad, on Wednesday, September 22 , at 10:00 a.m. in St. Peter's Lutheran Church, 6167 Walmore Road, Sanborn, NY 14132. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
