PEKIN, Aug.1.—Alexander Wendt of this village, died at Deaconess hospital, in Buffalo, yesterday morning at 7.20. He underwent a serious operation last Tharsday. The immediate cause of his death was heart failure.

The deceased was 47 years old. besides his wife, Ada Schultz, he Is survived by one daughter, Edna, his mother, Mrs August Wendt. two brothers, Edward and William, all of Pekin.

Funeral services will be held from the home of the late August Wendt at 2 o'clock.- Burial will be from St. Andrews Lutheran church With the Rev. c. A. Schmidt officiating at 2:30. Interment will be in St. Andrew's Lutheran cemetery.

Pastor Dies At 74 Years
Funeral services were held this afternoon in Alden for Rev. Edward M. Nemeschy of Lancaster who died Thursday (Nov 22, 1962) at home after a long illness. The Rev. Mr. Nemeschy was the son of the late Rev. and Mrs. Edward Nemeschy of Niagara Falls. The elder Nemeschy was a former pastor of St Paul Lutheran Church here. Two brothers of 'this city are among the Rev. Mr. Nemeschy's survivors. They are John and Benjamin Nemeschy and one sister Lydia Schultz. At the time of his death the Rev Mr. Nemeschy was pastor emeritus of Town Line Lutheran Church in Alden and St. Nicodemus Lutheran Church in Porterville. He resigned as pastor of the Town Line Church in 1956 after 43 years of service. Services today were held in the Town Line Church. Burial was in the church cemetery.

He was born in Altmont (sic), and lived most of his life in Niagara Falls. His parents, the Rev. and Mrs. Edward Nemeschy, were the founders of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Niagara Falls. He was the brother of the late John Nemeschy, the Rev. Edward Nemeschy and the Rev. Paul Nemeschy. He is survived by his wife, Hazel Stevenson Nemeschy of North Tonawanda; a sister, Mrs. Lydia Schultz of Lewiston; and several nieces and nephews. There will be no prior visitation. Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m tomorrow at the chapel of Cornell and Daggett Inc., South Avenue at 10th Street, Niagara Falls, with the Rev. DonaId Rehkopf officiating. LEWISTON - Lydia Carolina (Nemeschy) Schultz, 96, of Morgan Drive, died Wednesday (Feb. 8, 1995) at the home of her daughter in Lewiston.
She was born on May 7, 1898, in Altamont, Ill., the daughter of Edward M. and Lydia (Wendt) Nemeschy. She moved to Niagara Falls at the turn of the century when her father assumed the position of pastor at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church at Cleveland Avenue and 18th Street. She was a Lewiston resident for the past 25 years.
Mrs. Schultz was a church organist at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, and was pleased to serve with her father. She was a lifelong member of the church and a caring homemaker who enjoyed and loved her family, relatives said.
She was the widow of Ernest A. Schultz, who died in 1953. Her husband was in partnership with his brother at the former Schultz Brothers Groceries and Meats.
Mrs. Schultz is survived by a son, the Rev. Edward E. Schultz of Annapolis, Md.; a daughter, Dorothy S. Ford of Lewiston; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late John F. Nemeschy, the Rev. Edward M. Nemeschy Jr., the Rev. Paul H. Nemeschy and Benjamin C. Nemeschy. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Cornell & Daggett Chapel, 2215 Military Road

Born Lydia Nemeschy in Altamont, Ill., she moved to Niagara Falls at the turn of the century when her father, the Rev. Edward M. Nemeschy, became pastor of St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in Niagara Falls.
She lived in Lewiston for the past 25 years.
A lifelong member of St. Paul Church, she served as organist for the congregation while her father was pastor.
Her husband, Ernest A., died in 1953 after many years in partnership with his brother in the former Schultz Bros. Groceries & Meats at 18th Street and Pierce Avenue in Niagara Falls.
In addition to her daughter, survivors include a son, the Rev. Edward E. of Annapolis, Md.; six grandchildren; and 10
great-grandchildren.

A native of Sanborn, Wendt and his father, the late Edward Wendt, built a repair shop for tractors, trucks and farm equipment. The shop eventually was expanded to include automotive services and a gasoline station. Wendt worked for five years at the former Clarence Kline Garage in Sanborn and then for five more years at the Falls Garage in Niagara Falls. He opened his own garage in 1939 on Townline Road. He retired after suffering a stroke in 1979. He was a lifelong member of St. Andrew Evangelical Lutheran Church, where he was baptized and confirmed. Wendt was a member of the Lutheran Laymen's League, a charter member of Sanborn Lions Club and an exempt member of Pekin Volunteer Fire Company. Survivors include his wife, the former Harriett Brick; a son, Capt. Ronald A. of the Salvation Army in Cincinnati; two brothers, Norman J. and Edmund R.; and two grandsons. Services will be private. His wife, the former Hilda F. Haseley, died in 1981.
Wendt is survived by three sons, Edward J. of North Tonawanda; Frank P. and David N.; two daughters, Elizabeth C. LaRock and Judy E. Dawson, both of Ransomville; a brother, Edmund R.; 13 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

LEWISTON — Edmund R. Wendt, age 92, of Sanborn, died Saturday, June 23, 2012 in Mount St. Mary's Hospital in Lewiston, after a brief illness.

Ed was born December 12, 1919 in Sanborn, NY, the son of the late Edward and Lena (Strassburg) Wendt, and was a lifelong resident. He married Jane M. McCollum on October 2, 1948. Jane predeceased him on April 10th of this year. Ed was a self-employed mechanic. He had worked as an Operating Engineer on the Power Project and as a bus mechanic for Niagara Wheatfield Schools.

He had attended the Ransomville United Methodist Church. Ed enjoyed building and collecting model toys, NASCAR and attending Steam Engine Shows. He also has a collection of antique cars and tractors.

He is survived by his children, Paul (Robin) Wendt of Lockport, Dan (Shelley) Wendt of Jamestown, NY, and Marleen (Conrad) Janik of Lockport; his grandchildren, Cori Flores, Raymond and Andrew Wendt, Elizabeth (Jeremy) Gruber, Edward Wendt, Conrad Jr. and Christopher Janik, and Liza Reinhardt; and three great-grandchildren, Joseph Flores, Emily Wendt and Amanda Clarkson. He was predeceased by two brothers, Alfred and Norman Wendt.

In her younger years, she was employed at the former Carborundum Company, was a waitress at the former Schimschacks Restaurant, Bergholz Restaurant, and John’s Flaming Heart. Her final job before retiring, was at the former Harrison Radiator Plant, in Lockport. She enjoyed gardening, traveling, but above all, the quality time spent with her loving family. After retiring, Margaret moved to Niagara Falls. She was united in marriage to Patrick Tuepah, at St. Andrew Lutheran Church, Pekin, where she was a lifelong member. Mr. Tuepah predeceased her on November 10, 2006.
Survivors include her daughter, Sandra (John) Eddy of Cambria, NY; three grandchildren, Ronald (Colleen) Tarnowski, Michael Tarnowski, Melanie (Jeffrey) Rick; and three great-grandchildren, Isabella Rick. Nathan and Nicholas Tarnowski. Also predeceased by her son, James (Beverly Baptiste) Tuepah.

Dorothy (Schultz) Ford of Williamsville, NY died on October 2, 2018 shortly before her 89th birthday. Born in Niagara Falls, NY, she graduated from Niagara Falls High School and SUNY Buffalo State, where she studied to be a teacher.
She lived most of her life in Lewiston, NY where she was an elementary school teacher for 25 years in the Lewiston Porter School System. She loved children and in turn was beloved by her students and their parents. In 1986, she was named Teacher of the Year for the district.
She loved her family above all else and in turn was deeply loved and adored. She was a faithful woman and a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Williamsville.
She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Donald Ford, her children, Lynn Ford-Somma (Joseph), Daniel Ford (Carolyn) and Timothy Ford (Rebecca), five grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
A Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 AM on October 13th at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church at 68 Eagle St., Williamsville. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, the Alzheimer's Association or a charity of your choice.

Carl Haseley 1955-2006

Mr. Carl D. Haseley, 51, of Hamlet, died Tuesday, April 25, 2006, at Memorial Hospital, South Bend, following an illness.
He was born Jan. 29, 1955, in Knox to Herbert and Hazel (Ecker) Haseley.
Mr. Haseley had worked as a truck driver.
Surviving are two sons, Tony (Erin) and Mark, both of Bremen; one grandchild, Taylor; one sister, Nancy Nabholz of Bremen; two brothers, Paul of Argos and Tim of Zionsville, Ind.; and his girlfriend, Sharon Wyatt of Knox.
His parents and one brother, David, preceded him in death.
The funeral will be Saturday at 2 P.M. LaPorte County time at Rannells Funeral Home, Hamlet Chapel. Friends may call Saturday from 11 A.M. LaPorte County time until the service. Burial will be in Fletcher Cemetery, Hamlet.

Timothy Wayne Haseley, 59 years old of Zionsville, IN, passed away unexpectedly on December 10, 2022.He was comfortable and surrounded by family and loved ones in Pensacola, FL, when he departed this earthly life. Tim leaves behind his wife, Kathleen Veit Haseley; his three children, Sean Haseley (Molly), Kristin Haseley and Allison Powell (Bryan), as well as his three stepchildren, Chad Blankenship (Tara), Nicole Blankenship and Shawn Blankenship. Tim also leaves behind his brother Paul Haseley (Doris) and sister, Nancy Haseley Nabholz (Rich). Tim was prece3ded in death by his parents Herbert and Hazel (Ecker) Haseley and his brothers, David and Carl Haseley. Tim took on many different titles and roles in his life; Son, brother, Dad, Grandpa, husband, stepdad, uncle, coach, Basketball commentator, golfer, cyclist, authority on all things Butler Basketball, super fan of his kids. No matter what title he was wearing, one thing was true, he was a Gentle Giant. Being a 6'8" Indiana High School Basketball stand-out, Tim earned a scholarship to play at Butler University from 1981-1985. Tim married his wife Kati in 2007 and instantly became a perfect piece of their family. He provided fatherly guidance when asked or needed, but as usual with Tim, he preferred to have fun. He enjoyed his deep conversations and banter with Shawn. As Chad and Tara began to have children, a new spark ignited in Tim as he got to experience being a grand[a. He will be remembered for his competitive and fun spirit, challenging his oldest granddaughters to backyard batting cage competitions, and enjoying rounds of golf with Chad. He always looked forward to visiting Destin, especially when Nicki was going to be there. To hear the two of them laugh together was enough to brighten any mood. Tim will be missed by the entire Veit family and his laughter will live on anytime there is a gathering. In remembrance and in homer of Tim's love of Butler Basketball, his family is asking that all donations be sent to the Bulldog Club at Butler University. Paul E. Wendt, age 74 of Sanborn, NY, entered into rest on May 21, 2024 at his residence, while under the care of his loving wife, and Niagara Hospice. Born in Niagara Falls, NY on September 9, 1949; son of the late Edmund and H. Jane (McCollum) Wendt. Paul was employed at General Motors, until his retirement, and than became the owner of DN Remodeling. He enjoyed Nascar, fishing, hunting, and the quality time spent with his family. Survivors include his wife, Robin (Reitz) Wendt. Obituary of Rolf Pollock

Rolf R. Pollock, son of the late Robert & Gertrude (Nemeschy) Pollock of Town Line, NY, resided in the town of Porter, passed over to be with his son Eric L. Pollock, family and friends on March 15, 2018.
Rolf of 72 years, a few tears, and hairy ears, was born on August, 22nd 1945, in Buffalo, NY. He is survived by his sons, David E. Pollock, Michael E. Pollock, Jeffery A. Pollock, Joshua N. Pollock, and his daughter Brianna R. Pollock. He is also survived by his grandchildren Arianna R. Billings, Gabriel N., Kendall R., Adrianna, and Kimberly Pollock.
Rolf, who was known as "Ralph" by some people, who never learned how to pronounce Rolf, spent his childhood in Clarence, NY, and Chandos Lake, Ontario, Canada. He graduated from Clarence Central High School with honors. He went to College in Emporia, Kansas. Rolf grew up with activities centered on his church, and was the President of the Luther League at Town Line Lutheran Church in Alden for two years. He played football at Clarence Central, was a hunter, fisherman, and avid swimmer. He spent every summer at the family's island on Chandos Lake, Where he spent most of his time on or in the lake.
Rolf had many jobs, hobbies, and talents as he grew up. Rolf was the owner of The Holland Station, in Lancaster, NY where he sold craft supplies and taught art and craft classes. He was also an accomplished wood worker and had his own wood shop. After moving to The Town of Porter, Rolf and his partner Richard Yates of Sanborn, NY invented the "Wizzer Board". They Incorporated as Triple R Publications and became a multi state advertising business, publishing "Tavern Talk". Then Rolf decided to travel each and every highway, to see America and became a truck driver. He retired after becoming ill, after one and a half million miles without one accident or moving violation. Try that!
