    SANBORN - The Rev, Alfred W. Walck Sr., 81, of 2940 Lockport Road, a Lutheran
    clergyman for 57 years, died Sunday (Sept. 7, 1969) in Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. He was a native of Sanborn and celebrated the 50th anniversary of his ordination on Feb. 18, 1962. At that time he said, 'Tm deeply grateful and appreciative to the kindness and mercies of God for giving me the privilege of. serving Him and helping His people. The Rev. Mr. Walck was ordained after studies at the former
    Martin Luther College, and Seminary in Buffalo. His first church was in Unionville, Mich., in 1912. In 1916 he went to St. Paul, Minn. for home mission work. He was in the St. Paul area 33 years, serving at Grace Lutheran and Hope Lutheran Churches. In 1949 the Rev. Mr. Walck went to Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Webster, N.Y. He was,
    there 12 years, retiring in August, 1961. Since that time, he has been interim pastor at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, North Tonawanda, St. John's Lutheran Church; County Line, Concordia Lutheran Church at Byron Center, Trinity Lutheran Church, Wolcottsville, and St. Peters Lutheran Church, Walmore Road. He served at St. Peter's for 14 months, until Sept. 24, 1967. He was president emeritus and past secretary of the Lutheran Orient Mission Society and served on various mission boards. The Rev. Mr. Walck was married to the former Amanda Milleville for 53 years, until her death in 1965. He is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Donald Wendt of Niagara Falls, Mrs. Walter Winness, of Chambersburg, Pa., and Miss Amanda Walck, a parish worker at Bethlehem Lutheran Church Morris, III. a son, the Rev. W. Walck Jr., of Madang, New Guinea; three brothers,'Rudolph C, William A., and Hubert E. Walck, all of here; a sister, Mrs. John Devantier, of Niagara Falls; and 11 grandchildren. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today and -from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Pike and Jones Funeral Home here. The Rev. Mr. Walck will lie in state, from noon until 2 p.m.
    Wednesday, in St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Walmore Road, funeral-services will be
    conducted at 2 p.m. by the Rev. Carl Duewe, interim pastor at St. Peter's. Burial will be in St. Peter's Cemetery. The family said contributions may be made to the World Missions of the Lutheran Church as tribute.

    SANBORN - Rudolf C. Walck, 87, of Sanborn, died Sunday (Oct. 23, 1977) in Memorial Medical Center, Niagara Falls, after a brief illness.
    He was a native of the Town, of Wheatfield, and resided in the Town of Lewiston most of his life, where he operated a dairy and vegetable farm.
    Walck was a court officer for the Niagara County Supreme Court for over 40 years. Prior to retiring in 1975, he was a charter member, former trustee, and elder of St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Walmore, having served on various building committees.
    He was also a charter member and trustee of the Sanborn Volunteer Fire County, former director of the Niagara County Milk Co-op, and a member of the Niagara County Farm Bureau. He was also a member of the Niagara County Judges and Police Association. His wife, Ernestine D. Walck, predeceased him in 1967.
    Surviving are two sons, Rudolf Walck Jr. and Leonard, both of Sanborn; one brother, Hubert of Sanborn; one sister, Mrs. John (Agnes). DeVantier of Niagara Falls, and four grandchildren and one great grandchild.
    He was the father of the late Edna Craft.
    Funeral services will he held Thursday at 2 p.m. at St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Walmore, with the Rev. Paul F. Wittenberg officiating. Burial will he in St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery.
    Friends may call at the Rhoney Funeral Home, Sanborn, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today and Wednesday. Members of the Sanborn Volunteer Fire Co. will meet for a memorial service Wednesday at 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church, the family said.

    Former Weston Avenue resident Agnes A. DeVantier died yesterday (April 28, 1983) at Niagara Falls Memorial Nursing Home. She was 91. Mrs. DeVantier was a native of the Town of Wheatfield and moved to Niagara Falls in 1926. She was a member of St. Paul Calvary Lutheran Church and wife of the late Max Haseley and John DeVantier. She is survived by son Max (Irma) Haseley of this city; brother Hubert Walck of Sanborn; three grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. tomorrow at St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church in Walmore, with the Rev. Douglas R. Behm and the Rev. Walck, 81, of Saunders Settlement Road, was pronounced dead on arrival Wednesday (March 20, 1974) at Memorial Medical Center after being stricken with an apparent heart attack. He was a native of the Town of Wheatfield and had operated a farm in Saunders Settlement Road for most of his life. He was a life member of St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Walmore, where he had held various positions. He was also on active member of the Niagara County Farm Bureau and its Extension Service. He was predeceased by his wife, Selma, who died in 1968. Survivors include a son, Edgar; two daughters, Mrs. William (Ira sic)) Haseley and Mrs. Ralph (Gladys) DeVantier, all of this community; two brothers, Rudolph and Hubert Walck, both of Sanborn; a sister, Mrs. John (Agnes) DeVantier of Niagara Falls, and 11 grandchildren.     SANBORN-Mrs, Lily H. Haseley. 60, died Saturday (April 7, 1956) at the Hilltop Nursing Home, Gasport, where she has been confined for about a year by ill health.
    Born March 13, 1896, Mrs. Haseley was the daughter of the late William A. and Ernestine Haseley Walck.
    She is survived by her husband, Erich F. Haseley; two daughters. Mrs. Donald Peters, North Tonawanda, and Mrs. Norman DeVantier, Niagara Falls; a son, Alfred E. Haseley, this village; a sister, Mrs. John DeVantier, Niagara Falls: four brothers, the Rev. Alfred Walck; Webster, Rudolph. C., William A. and Hubert Walck, all of this vil1age; six grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
    Mrs. Haseley was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Walmore, and of its Ladies Aid Society.
    Services will be conducted at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Norman DeVantier, Old Niagara Falls Blvd., at 2 p.m. Tuesday and at 2:30 o'clock at St. Peter's Church by the Rev. Martin Pempeit. Burial will be in St. Peter's Cemetery.

    Services for Hubert Walck, a retired employee of the Kimberly-Clark Co. of Niagara Falls, will be held at 2 P.M. today in St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church on Walmore Road. Burial will be in St. Peter's Cemetery.
    A native of Wheatfield, Walck, 87, of Lockport Road, died Wednesday (Sept. 26, 1990) in Mount St. Mary's Hospital, Lewiston.
    He had been employed by Kimberly-Clark for 30 years and was a lifelong member of St. Peter's Church.
    Survivors include his wife, Arline Blank Walck; a son, Lester; two grandsons, and a great-grandson.

    BERGHOLTZ, Dec. 27 —Word
    has been received here of the death
    of Miss Gertrude Walck on Christmas
    eve in Strong Memorial hospital.
    Rochester. Miss Walck is the
    daughter of the Rev, and Mrs. Alfred
    W. Walck of Webster, and was
    a frequent visitor with relatives in
    this community, where she was well
    known.
    Miss Walck spent most of her
    life in St. Paul, Minn., where her
    father served, as pastor of Grace
    Lutheran church for over 30 years.
    She is a graduate of St. Paul Luthern
    college and attended thc Lutheran
    Bible institute in Minneapolis. She
    was a parish worker in the American
    Lutheran church in Waseca,
    Minn, for several years, after which
    she accepted the position of Dean
    of Women at the Augustana Academy.
    Sioux Falls, S. D. Ill health
    forced her to resign this position
    two years ago when she came to
    live with her parents in Webster,
    where her father is now serving as
    pastor of Bethlehem Lutheran
    church.
    Miss Walck was an accomplished
    musician. At the age of 14 years
    she was serving as organist in Grace
    Lutheran church St. Paul, and later
    as choir director. She taught piano
    and pipe organ, and recently wrote
    words and music for a selection
    which will be played at her funeral.
    In addition to her parents, Miss
    Walck is survived by one brother,
    the Rev. Alfred Walck, Jr., of the
    Lutheran Mission in New Guinea;
    three sistcn, Mrs. Walter Winness,
    Fremont, O., Miss Amanda Walck,
    Toledo, O.; and Mrs. Donald Wendt.
    Sanborn.
    Funeral services will be conducted
    from the home of William Walck,
    Lockport road at 1 p.m. tomorrow,
    and at St. Peter's Lutheran church,
    Walmore, at 2 p.m. Burial will be on
    St. Peter's cemetery.

    Pastor's notes - (not a member here) Born at Columbia (near Unionsville, Michigan). Daughter of Pastor Alfred Walck and Amanda née Milleville. In 1916, moved to St. Paul, was confirmed there in Grace Lutheran Church. Had unusual musical ability; organist for about 14 years, always ready to serve in church.     Amanda Margaret Walck, age 97, formerly of Sanborn, was called to her heavenly home in Iowa, on December 23, 2014. Born in St. Paul, Minnesota on August 5, 1917 she was the daughter of the late Pastor Alfred and Amanda (Milleville) Walck.

    In addition to several secretarial positions, Amanda served as Parish Worker in Waterloo, IA, Fremont and Columbus, OH, Sioux City, IA and Morris, IL. She served on many committees and boards. In 1979 she retired and moved to Sanborn, NY, the area where her parents and many relatives were born. Down through the years and at St. Peter's Lutheran, in Walmore, she was involved in teaching Sunday School, circles and Bible studies. Her recent activity was with the Seniors at St. Peter's, where she taught Sunday School until she was 91 years of age. She also sang in choirs and groups through the years, and enjoyed making banners for churches.

    She was predeceased by her parents; three sisters, Gertrude, Martha Winnes and Dorothy Wendt. She is survived by her brother, Alfred (Marion) Walck.

    Friends are invited to attend a memorial service conducted by the Rev. Bruce Gamache', at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Walmore Road in Wheatfield, on Saturday - January 3 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Local arrangements are with the DUBOIS FUNERAL HOME (731-3234).

    SANBORN - Dorothy H. Wendt of Sanborn died Friday in Mount St. Mary's Hospital, Lewiston, after a long illness. She was 75.
    Born Dorothy Walck in St. Paul, MN., she graduated from Minnehaha Christian Academy in Minneapolis in 1948. She moved to Niagara Falls the next year and worked for Republic Light and Power Co.
    She married her husband, Donald, in late 1951 and, together, they founded and operated Wendt's Propane Gas Co. from 1952 to 1966.
    Dorothy also worked at the Beacon Christian Book Store from 1972 to 1978 and 1984 to 1993.
    Mrs. Wendt was a counselor and prayer partner for the Christian Broadcasting Network's 700 Club for several years in the 1980s, and she and her husband had a satellite branch of the 700 Club in a warehouse on Lockport Road property where they lived for 35 years.
    Surviving in addition to her husband are two sons, the Rev. Gary of Tuscaloosa, Ala., and Douglas of Grand Rapids, Mich.; a daughter, Susan of Sanborn; two sisters, Martha Winnes of Minneapolis and Amanda Walck of Sanborn; a brother, the Rev. Alfred Walck of Des Moines, Iowa; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
    Funeral services will be held at 11:30 A.M. Monday in First Assembly of God Church, 9750 Niagara Falls Blvd.

    Rudolf A. Walck, of Walmore Road, a lifelong resident of Sanborn, died Wednesday (July 2,1986) in Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center.
    Walck, 64, operated a dairy farm with his son and brother for many years. He belonged to the Hockey Alumni League and was an exempt member of the Sanborn Fire County, a member of the Sanborn Firemen's Band for more than 30 years and a member of other musical organizations. He was a lifelong parishioner of St. Peter's Lutheran Church of Sanborn and he had been very active in area softball leagues during the 1950s and 1960s.
    Walck was the son of the late Rudolf and Ernestine Walck, husband of the late Jeanette (Mueller) Walck and brother of the late Edna Craft.
    He is survived by his wife, Dorothy (Simons) Walck; a son, Wayne Walck of Sanborn; a daughter, Mrs. Thomas (Lynn) Wilson of Sanborn; a brother, Leonard Walck of Sanborn; a granddaughter, two nephews and several grandnieces and grandnephews.

    SANBORN-Leonard W. Walck, 68, of Walmore Road, died Thursday (Dec. 1, 1994) in Millard Fillmore Hospital, Buffalo, after a short illness.
    He was born in Lewiston on July 27, 1926, the son of Rudolf C. and Ernestine (Haseley) Walck. He was a graduate of LaSalle Senior High School.
    He was in a partnership with his nephew, Wayne R. Walck, in the Falcon Acres Farm in Sanborn, where he was a dairy and vegetable farmer for 50 years.
    The Walck family has had a stall for more than 50 years at the Niagara Falls City Market, where he had worked since he was a boy.
    He was member of the Town of Lewiston Planning Board.
    Mr. Walck was a lifelong member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Sanborn, where he was a past treasurer of its Sunday school. He was also a member of the Farm Bureau, the Niagara County Milk Producers Cooperative, and a past member of the Sanborn Volunteer Fire Co. Band.
    Mr. Walck is survived by his wife of 22 years, Alice (Retzlaff) Walck of Sanborn; three nephews; a niece; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
    He was the brother of the late Rudolf A. Walck and Edna Craft.
    Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. today and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the Otto Redanz Funeral Home, LaSalle Park Chapel, 2215 Military Road. The Ronald L. Born in the Town of Wheatfield on November 28, 1922, he was the son of the late William and Selma Walck. He was a member of the First Assembly of God, in Niagara Falls, where he served on the church board and building committee. Edgar played the tuba in both the Bergholz and Sanborn Fire Company's bands, and the church orchestra for many years. He was devoted to serving the Lord, owned and operated a dairy farm in Sanborn, was an avid hunter, farmer, gardener, drove truck until he was 86, and enjoyed traveling.     She married Ralph DeVantier on Nov. 3, 1956. She worked at his construction company as a bookkeeper and secretary for 37 years.
    She was a member of the Lutheran Church of the Messiah in Lewiston, and the Wheatfield Jaycees. She also had been active with the Niagara County 4H Program for many years.
    Mrs. DeVantier enjoyed gardening, bowling and spending time with her children and grandchildren.

    Mr. Haseley was born November 24, 1920, in Sanborn, NY, the son of Erich and Lily [ Walck ] Haseley, where he attended local schools. He had resided in the Town of Cambria, NY, for the last 57 years. He was employed as a welder at the General Abrasives, for 44 years, prior to retiring in 1985 Alfred was a longtime member of St. Andrew Lutheran Church Sanborn, NY, where he has served as and Elder and Trustee.
    He was a former of the Sanborn Fire Company Band, the Sanborn Business League and Wheatfield Senior Bowling Leagues, for many years. He enjoyed going to Church, being with his children, grandchildren and gardening.
    Surviving is his loving wife of 57 years, the former Hazel E. [ Kroening ] Haseley, hi s children, Susan Haseley; Sandra [ Thomas ] Seefeldt; Darwin [ Debbie ] Haseley; Faye [ Peter ] Vogt; Jeffrey [ Doreen ] Haseley; a sister, Pearl DeVantier; 12 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
    He was predeceased by a sister Lily Peter.
    The family will be present at Sunday 7 - 9 PM and Monday 2 - 4 & 7 - 9 PM at RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, Inc., SANBORN, 5893 Hoover Road. Funeral services will be held at St. Andrews Lutheran Church, 3229 Upper Mountain Road at 11 AM on Tuesday, August 22nd, with Rev. R. Peter Voegler officiating.     Pearl Elfreida (Haseley) DeVantier, the daughter of the late Erich F. and Lily (Walck ) Haseley, was born on April 11, 1930, in the town of Lewiston, Niagara County, New York. She was baptized into the Christian faith on April 20, 1920 by Pastor Edward A. Grabau in St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Walmore. After taking religious instructions under Pastor Grabau, Pearl made public affirmation of her faith through the rite of Confirmation on April 18, 1943. She attended St. Peter’s
    Parochial School until high school. On May 12, 1951, Pearl was united in marriage with Norman A. DeVantier in St. Peter’s Lutheran Church. Their 26 years of married life together were blessed by God with three children: Marlene, Lauren, and Scott. Pearl was a 1947 graduate of LaSalle High School and had worked as a secretary at Vedder Insurance Agency, Walter S. Johnson Building Company., and E.I. duPont Company; also at Hens & Kelly Department store as an office manager, and Bell Aerospace Textron as an administrative secretary from which she retired in 1992. Church was a large part of Pearl’s life. She was a leader of Junior Lutherans, participated in the Women of the Church group, sang in the church choir and faithfully attended services. She was an avid collector of angels and enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, card playing and floral arranging. Her specialty was making old-fashioned German waffles and baking hundreds of Christmas cookies to give away!
    Pearl died in the Lord on March 25, 2020, having attaining the age of 90. She suffered from complications of the Coronavirus. She was predeceased by her husband, Norman, in 1977, a sister Lily Peter in 2003, and a brother, Alfred Haseley, in 2006.
    Pearl is survived by two daughters, Marlene (Mark) Sivecz and Dr. Lauren (Kenneth) DeVantier Schosek, one son, Scott (Paula) DeVantier, a sister-inlaw, Hazel Haseley, five grandchildren, Daniel (Inhee) Han-Sivecz, Melinda (Ryan) Charron, Rev. David Sivecz, Katherine (Rahul) DeVantier-Pradhu, and Christina (Andrew Fera) DeVantier, and two great-grandchildren, Natalie Charron and Matthias Han-Sivecz along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
    Private Christian graveside services were held at the St. James Lutheran Cemetery on May 30, 2020 with the Rev. Daniel Tabor officiating. Memorials may be made to St. James Lutheran Church, 2437 Niagara Rd., Niagara Falls, NY 14304. Arrangements were with the DuBois Funeral Home, Wheatfield, NY.

    Wayne R. Walck of Sanborn, NY, went to his heavenly home on Thursday, October 7, 2021, in Buffalo General Medical Center.  
    He was born in Niagara Falls, NY on March 5, 1943, the son of the late Rudolf A. and Jeanette E. [Mueller] Walck, Jr.
    Mr. Walck graduated from Niagara Wheatfield High School and began working with his grandfather,  father, uncle and later with his wife and daughter on the family farm and vegetable stand.
    He was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church Walmore, Farm Bureau and a charter member of Niagara County  Milk Cooperative.
    Mr. Walck enjoyed playing baseball, hockey, fast pitch softball, hunting and watching westerns.  He was an assistant coach on his daughter's softball team.
    Mr. Walck is survived by his wife of 45 years Jean E. [Himmelback] Walck, they were married on November 13, 1976, his daughter Claudette Walck, a sister Lynn (Thomas) Wilson, his step mother Dorothy Walck also cousins, nieces and nephews.
    Family and friends are invited to attend his funeral services on Tuesday at 11:00 AM at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, 6168 Walmore Road, Sanborn, NY, with the Rev. Thomas  Thorstad officiating.

    Robert Lester Walck, born May 8,1957, died November 6, 2004 from a motorcycle accident, while riding in Bandera county of the hill country, northwest of San Antonio, Texas. He is survived by his fiancee, Jennifer Mason of Houston, Texas; brother, James H. Walck of Endwell, NY, his wife Lynne Diane; one nephew, John Andrew; two nieces, Ann Elizabeth and Sarah Magdalene; his father, Lester Walck and stepmother, Patti of Sanborn; grandmother, Arline Walck of Sanborn; deceased mother, Sally Ann Walck and deceased grandfather, Hubert Walck; and several cousins and relatives. Bob was an active member of House of Prayer Lutheran Church in Webster, Texas. His schooling includes a 1982 Bachelor of Arts Degree Magna Cum Laude in Communications Studies from Niagara University, a 1986 Bachelor of Science Degree in Imagining (sic) and Technical Photography from the Rochester Institute on Technology. His work experience includes a position on the staff photography team at the Johnson Space Center In Houston (NASA) where he documented NASA activities, including astronaut training and studio photos, and his current work for Southwest Bell Communications, where he was a data line technician. His hobbies included biking, music, working on cars, travelling (sic), and reading. Bob was a person of great empathy and love, and will be greatly missed by those who loved him and him and knew him best! Services will be Thursday, November 18th, 3 PM at St. Peter Lutheran Church, 6167 Walmore Road in Sanborn, with visitation with family and friends before the funeral from 1:30-3 PM. All are welcome to the potluck supper to follow the service.
