BERGHOLZ - Marion G. (Haseley-Walck) DuBois, 82, of . Niagara Falls Boulevard, died Friday July 5, 1996) in Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center.
She was born Sept. 12, 1913, in Wheatfield, the daughter of Adolf and Eleonore (Retzlaff) Haseley.
On Sept. 21. 1935, she married Arthur P. DuBois in Niagara Falls.
Mrs. DuBois was a member of Holy Ghost Lutheran Church. where she belonged to the Ladies Aide (sic) and Alter Guild for many years. She also was an exempt member of the Bergholz Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary.
She enjoyed needlepoint and crocheting.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Duane DuBois of Wheatfield; a daughter, Jane Andrews of Sanborn; two brothers, Melvin Walck of Farmington, Mich., and Norman Walck of Sanborn; two sisters, Helen Waldkoetter of North Tonawanda and Doris Toellner of Madison Heights. Mich.; two granddaughters; and many nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Chester Walck.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the DuBois Funeral Home, 2436 Niagara Road, where the Ladies Auxiliary of the Bergholz Fire Co. will conduct a memorial service at 7 p.m. today. The Rev. Philip N. Sallach will conduct services at 11 a.m. Monday in Holy Ghost Lutheran Church, Niagara Road and Luther Street. Interment will be in Holy Ghost Lutheran Cemetery, Wheatfield.

Norman A. Walck, retired water superintendent of the Town of Wheatfield, died Tuesday (July 18, 2000) in Mount St. Mary's Hospital, Lewiston, after a brief illness. He was 77.
He retired in 1988 after 34 years with the Town of Wheatfield.
A World War II veteran of the Army Air Forces, Walck was a past commander of American Legion Post 1451 in Wheatfield.
He also had served as president of the Wheatfield Business Association and as secretary of the American Waterworks Association, and was on the board of the former Bergholz Fire Insurance Co.
Walck was an exempt member of the Sanborn Fire Company.
He enjoyed fishing.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, the former Audrey Mueller; a son, Robert of Chicago; a daughter, Cheryl Hayes of Lockport; two sisters, Helen Waldkoetter of North Tonawanda and Doris Toellner of Michigan; a brother, Melvin of Michigan; and three grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 A.M. Friday in St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church, on Walmore Road in Wheatfield. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

WHEATFlELD - Chester E. Walck, 65, of Hoover Road, died Saturday. (Dec. 5, 1992) in Mount St. Mary's Hospital, Lewiston. He was born in Wheatfield on Dec. 22, 1926, the son of August and Eleanor Walck. He was a lifelong resident of Wheatfield and a lifelong member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church on Walmore Road, where he also was a past trustee.
Walck worked, at the Harrison Radiator Division of General Motors in Lockport for 34 years, retiring in 1989. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of the Wheatfield Republican Club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and family life.
He is survived by his wife, Gertrude (Bechtel) Walck of Wheatfield; two daughters, Sharon Walck of Grand Island and Sandra Pluff of Lockport; a son, Ronald Walck of Ransomville; three sisters, Marion DuBois of Wheatfield, Helen Waldkoetter of North Tonawanda and Doris Toellner of Madison Heights, Mich.; two brothers, Melvin Walck of Farmington Hills, Mich., and Norman Walck of Sanborn; four grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Waldkoetter, Helen W.
Helen W. Waldkoetter (Gath) (nee Walck) of North Tonawanda, was taken by Jesus to her Heavenly home on December 2, 2008 while in Niagara Hospice House, after a 12 year courageous battle with cancer. Helen was a graduate of the Buffalo General School of Nursing and worked as a Registered Nurse in the Obstetrics Unit at DeGraff Memorial Hospital until the early 1970’s. In the early 1980’s she began a career as a much loved tour escort in the travel industry as a co-founder of, The Way to Go Tours. She was a very active and devoted member of St. Mark Lutheran Church and for many years she worked for the Niagara County Board of Elections. She was the daughter of the late August and Eleaner Walck and was the wife of the late Irving Gath. Beloved wife of Jerry Waldkoetter; dear mother of Wendy (Thomas) Zuch, Randall (Lee) Gath, Kathleen (John) Fretthold, Robert (Edythe) Gath all of North Tonawanda, and Julie Waldkoetter of New York City. Grandmother of Daniel, Ryan, Cory, Lissa, Andrew, Allison, Joanna, Edward, Leah and the late Erin; step-grandmother of Kelly; great-grandmother of Hannah. NIAGARA FALLS — Howard Edward Phillip Walck, passed away on Sunday, July 3, 2011, at the age of 94, in Ross Memorial Hospital, Lindsay, Ontario. He was born in the Town of Wheatfield, on December 30,1917, the son of the late Felix and Agatha (Retzlaff) Walck.

Howard attended St. Peter's Lutheran School and church where he served as a Trustee. He graduated from Cornell Agricultural School. Howard was the co-owner and operator of the former Walck's Dairy from 1935 until 1971. He then worked with the Niagara County Highway Department until his retirement. He enjoyed spending his winters in Florida, where he was a member and elder of the Christ Lutheran Church and his summers at his cottage in Canada. Howard enjoyed fishing, gardening and playing cards with his dear friends.

He was the husband of the late Lillian (Retzlaff) Walck, they were married in June of 1939, she predeceased him on April 26, 1978. Howard is survived by his wife, Elizabeth "Betty" (Hough) Walck. They where married on May 17, 1979. Three sons, Howard (Shirley), Douglas (Susan), Dennis (Judy) Walck; eight grandchildren, Brent (Andrea), Bruce (Jennifer) Walck, Jennifer (Curt) Muma, Craig (Jessica), Ashleigh and Phillip Walck, Kari (Rob) Corsaro, Adam (Amber) Walck; three great-grandchildren, Nathan, Alyssa and Robbie; one sister, Jennis (late Harold) Pankow; three step-sons, Gordon (Linda), Steven (Gabrielle) and Peter (Lori) Hough; four-step grandchildren, Andrew (Lee) Hough, Michelle (Jayson) Millson, Kyle and Benn Hough; three great-grandchildren, Cooper, Abigail and Isabelle Hough; also many nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late Bruce Walck.

Friends are invited to attend Funeral Services on Monday at 1:30 PM at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, 6168 Walmore Road, Sanborn, NY, with the Rev. Bruce M. Gamache officiating. WHEATFIELD - Alice B. (Retzlaff) Walck, age 87, of Wheatfield, was called peacefully to her heavenly home, to be with her Lord and Savior on October 16, 2012 at her residence. Born in the Town of Wheatfield, NY, on July 22, 2012, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Lily (Pfuhl) Retzlaff. Alice attended St. Peter's Lutheran School in Walmore and was a 1943 graduate of LaSalle High School. She was employed at the former Bell Aircraft and later at the Carborundum Company - Bonded Abrasives division in Niagara Falls, until her retirement in 1983. Alice was a lifelong member of St. Peter's Ev. Lutheran Church, Wheatfield, where she was with the St. Peter's Quilters. She was also a member of the Ransomville Seniors and enjoyed gardening, flowers and traveling. Survivors include her brother, Kenneth (Dianne) Retzlaff of Wheatfield; sister-in-law, Lois Retzlaff; eight nieces and nephews, Debra (Ted) Sheehan, Brian (Sandra) Retzlaff, Gary Retzlaff, Randy Retzlaff, Sandra (Steven) Lang, Carol (Leonard) Binns, David (Allison) Retzlaff and Dale (Lisa) Retzlaff; twenty great-nieces and nephews and one great-great-nephew. WHEATFIELD - Willis S. Retzlaff, who served as town assessor for 27 years and was active in community and church affairs, died of a heart attack Saturday in his home. He was 78.
Mr. Retzlaff was born in Wheatfield and attended local schools. He served in the Air Force and was a member of Wheatfield Post 1451, American Legion.
He was a lifelong farmer and a skilled carpenter who built several homes in the area.
He was town assessor from 1972 to 1999 and the following year was appointed to the Zoning Board of Appeals. He had been president of the Niagara County Assessors Association and an officer of the New York State Assessors Association.
Mr. Retzlaff was an active member of St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church, where he served as president, elder and financial secretary. At the time of his death, he was chairman of the cemetery committee.
He was a charter member and past president of the Wheatfield Lions Club and was serving as treasurer at the time of his death.
He was named Lion of the Year in 1991 and won two other Lions awards: the Melvin Jones Fellowship Award in 1994 and the Robert Uplinger Distinguished Service Award in 1998.
He was a charter member of the Wheatfield Republican Club; member and past president of the Wheatfield Business Association; treasurer of the Wheatfield Family Picnic Committee; a former member of the Bergholz German Band; a member of the town Historical Society; and a volunteer for Kids Voting.
He enjoyed gardening.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, the former Lois Hassan; a daughter, Debra Sheehan of Bergholz; a son, Randall of Wheatfield; a sister, Alice Walck of Sanborn; a brother, Kenneth of Wheatfield; and six grandchildren-.
Services will be at 11 A.M. Wednesday in St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Walmore Road. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Willis Sherman Retzlaff

Willis Sherman Retzlaff was born on June 7,1927 to Arthur and Lily (Pfuhl) Retzlaff. He was baptized on June 19, 1927 and confirmed on April 14, 1940. Willis was united in marriage to Lois Hassan on September 8, 1951. They were blessed with two children, Debra and Randall.
Willis was a life long member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church where he served as President of the Congregation, financial secretary, Elder and presently as Chairman of the Cemetery Committee.
Willis farmed for many years then went into carpentry and built many homes in the area. He was elected Assessor for the Town of Wheatfield and served in that capacity for 27 years, retiring in 1999.
He was a charter member, past President and currently served as Treasurer of the Wheatfield Lions Club. He was named Lion of the year in 1991, received the Melvin Jones Fellowship Award in 1994 and the Robert Uplinger Distinguished Service Award in 1998. He was a charter member of the Wheatfield Republican Club, member of the Wheatfield Senior Citizens, member and past President of the Wheatfield Business Association and treasurer of the Wheatfield Family Picnic Committee, a former member of the Bergholz Band, member of the Historical Society, was a volunteer for Kids Voting each year, was a former President of Niagara County Assessor's Association, a former officer of the New York State Assessor's Association, served in the U.S. Air Force, and was a member of the American Legion-Wheatfield Post 1451, member of the Wheatfield Zoning Board of Appeals.
Willis enjoyed gardening and spending time with his grandchildren and helping anyone in need.
On Saturday, August 20, 2005, at home, unexpectedly Willis was called to be with His Lord.
He is survived by his wife, Lois, daughter, Debra (Theodore) Sheehan, son, Randall; grandchildren, Theodore (Holly) Sheehan Ill, Becky, Tim and Tom Sheehan, Amanda and Scott Retzlaff; a sister, Alice Walck, a brother, Kenneth (Dianne) Retzlaff; sisters-in-law, Joanne (Edwin) Scherrer, Betty Lou (George) Lozina and Sally Archer and many nieces and nephews.

Born in Niagara Falls, NY on October 8, 1936, son of the late Arthur and Lilly (Pfuhl) Retzlaff. He was a life long member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Sanborn. Ken graduated from Trott Vocational High School. He married Dianne Blank on May 17, 1957, and they enjoyed 63 wonderful years together. Ken was a farmer all his life, a member of the Wheatfield Zoning Board, then elected eight terms as a Wheatfield Town Councilman, serving for 32 years, and as Deputy Supervisor. He was a member of the Wheatfield Republican Club, was a trustee at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, and a member of the building committee of the new addition of the church. Ken enjoyed golfing, hunting, and spending time at the cabin.Survivors include his loving wife; six children, Brian (Sandra) Retzlaff, Gary Retzlaff, Sandra (Steven) Lange, Carol (Leonard) Binns, David (Allison) Retzlaff, Dale (Lisa) Retzlaff; 14 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Alice (Leonard) Walck, brother, Willis (Lois) Retzlaff, and brother-in-law, Darrell (Nancy) Blank. 7 Year Old Dies of Asphyxia
Linda Pankow, 7, of Ward Rd Town of Wheatfield, died yesterday morning at DeGraff Memorial Hospital of asphyxia due to and acute case of bronchitis. The cause of death wass determined after a post mortem, according to Dr. G. Norris Miner, North Tonawanda Health Officer. Linda was rushed to the hospital by her father, Harold Pankow after he found her stricken in her room. Deputy Sheriffs escorted him to the hospital. Linda's mother Mrs. Jenice Pankow, 30, suffered a fractured ankle, when she fell on a flight of stairs when she hurried to a phone for a doctor. In addition to her parents, Linda is survived by a sister Betty, a brother Robin, and her grandparents Mr. and Mrs. William Pankow, and Mr. and Mrs. Felix Walck. Funeral services will be at 2:30 pm Friday at Fretthold Funeral Home, 1241 Oliver St. the Rev Walter J. Thiemecke officiating. Burial will be in St John's Lutheran Cemetery.

Gath, Ryan Edward age 28 of the Town of Wheatfield passed suddenly March 18, 2015 in Brooklyn, NY. Ryan earned the rank of Eagle Scout at age 17. He was a graduate of Niagara Wheatfield High School and graduated cum laude from the University of Buffalo. He had currently been employed at Greenpeace in Manhattan, NY. His positive exuberance for learning, people, animals and life, left an impression on the hearts of those he felt fortunate to have crossed paths with on his journey. What we once enjoyed and deeply loved we can never lose. For all that we love deeply becomes a part of us. Ryan had the world in his hands. Now he has the universe. PEACE Beloved son of Randall and Lee (Schroeder) Gath of the Town of Wheatfield; Dear brother of Cory Gath and Lissa Gath both of California and the late Erin Gath. Grandson of Jerry Waldkoetter of North Tonawanda. Also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins. Friends may call at the Fretthold Funeral Home Inc. 1241 Oliver St. at Ward Rd. in North Tonawanda Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home Thursday at 10 AM. Interment in St. Mark Lutheran Cemetery.
