Martha W. De Vantier of Franklin Street, a homemaker who had enjoyed raising African violets, died Tuesday (July 7, 1998) in CrestWood Health Care Center, Wheatfield, after a lengthy illness. She was 82.
The former Martha Williams was born in Wheatfield and was a 1934 graduate of Niagara Falls High School.
She was a member of St. James Lutheran Church in Bergholz.
Mrs. De Vantier enjoyed cooking, sewing and spending time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Alfred A.; two sons, the Rev. Peter A. of Wellsboro, Pa., and Frederic; a sister, Esther Holiday of Venice, Fla.; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 11 A.M., Friday in St. James Lutheran Church, 2437 Niagara Road, Bergholz. Burial will be in St. James Lutheran Cemetery, Wheatfield.
