SCHIMSCHACK - Hulda Magdalena Schimschack, 822, at the residence of her
daughter, Mrs. Lewis Heuer, 2435 Washington St., Town of Wheatfield,
Wednesday (Sept. 30, 1970) after a lengthy illness.
Mrs. Schimschack was a lifelong resident of the Town of Wheatfield and a
member of Holy Ghost Lutheran Church.
Survived by three daughters, Mrs. Norman (Irma) DeVantier, Mrs. Wallace
(Edna) Pfohl and Mrs. Lewis (Eunice) Heuer, all of the Town of Wheatfield;
three sons, Alvin A. and Wilbert A. Schimschack, both of the Town of
Wheatfield, and Donald A. Schimschack of North Tonawanda; nine
grandchildren, and eight grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Fretthold Funeral Home Inc. 1241 Oliver St. at Ward
Road, North Tonawanda. Memorial may be made to Holy Ghost Lutheran Church
Building Fund.

Erma DeVantier of Washington Street, a lifelong member of Holy Ghost Lutheran Church, died Monday (Feb. 26, 1996) in DeGraff Memorial Hospital, North Tonawanda.
The former Erma Schimschack, 81, was born in Wheatfield and was a lifelong resident.
Her husband, Norman A., died in 1989.
Survivors include two daughters, Yvonne Ziehm of Schenectady and Janet Herman of Wheatfield; a son, Kenneth of Wheatfield; a sister, Eunice Heuer; two brothers, Alvin Schimschack and Donald Schimschack of North Tonawanda; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 11 A.M. Wednesday in Holy Ghost Lutheran Church, Niagara Road and Luther Street. Burial will be in Holy Ghost Lutheran Cemetery

WHEATFIELD-Edna (Schimschack) Pfohl, 76, of Lockport Road, died. Friday (Feb. 12, 1993), in Mount St. Mary's Hospital, Town of Lewiston. She was born in Wheatfield on Feb. 2, 1917, to August and Hulda (Voelker) Schimschack. After marrying Wallace "Wally" Pfohl on Oct. 19, 1942, she and her husband worked on the family's dairy farm. Mrs. Pfohl traveled with her husband and five bands, including the Bergholz German Band, throughout the United States, Canada and Europe. She was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church on Walmore Road, and an active member of the Women of the Church for several years. In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Carol Walck of Sanborn; a son, Harry Dickenson of Wheatfield; two sisters, Irma DeVantier and Eunice Heuer, both of Bergholz; three brothers, Alvin Schimschack and Wilbert Schimschack, both of Bergholz, and Donald Schimschack of North Tonawanda; three grandchildren; a great-grandson; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 2 to 4 and 7 to. 9 p.m. Monday at the DuBois Funeral Home, 2436 Niagara Road. The . Rev. Herbert R. Maxwell will conduct services at 11 a.m. Tuesday in St. Peter's Lutheran Church on Walmore Road. Burial will be in St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery, Wheatfield. Memorials may be made to St. Peter's Lutheran School.

Alvin A. Schimschack, 78, of Schultz Street, a former inspector at the Carborundum Co. Abrasives Division in Wheatfield, died Thursday (Oct. 30, 1997) at his home.
He was a lifelong resident of Wheatfield.
Schimschack served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member of Wheatfield Post 1451, American Legion, and of Friedens United Church of Christ in North Tonawanda, where he served on various boards. He was the church cemetery sexton for many years.
Schimschack enjoyed woodworking and baseball.
His wife, the former Leona Jaeger, died in 1995.
Survivors include a son, William of Wheatfield; a sister, Eunice Heuer; a brother, Donald of North Tonawanda; two grandsons; and two great-grandsons.
A private grave side service will be held with the family in Friedens Cemetery, Wheatfield. A memorial service will be held at 11 A.M. Saturday in Friedens United Church of Christ, 170 Schenck St., North Tonawanda.

Services for Wilbert "Wimpy" Schimschack, a retired custodian for Niagara-Wheatfield School District, will be held at 11 A.M. Monday in Holy Ghost Lutheran Church, Niagara Road and Luther Street. Burial will be in Holy Ghost Lutheran Cemetery, Wheatfield.
Schimschack, 74, of Schultz Street died Friday (Jan. 6, 1995) in Mount St. Mary's Hospital, Lewiston, after a long illness.
He had worked at the former Bergholz Garage, where he was part owner, and at Bell Aircraft. He worked as a custodian for the Niagara-Wheatfield School District until retiring in 1979.
He was an exempt member of the Bergholz Volunteer Fire Department, serving more than 50 years.
Survivors include his wife, the former Helen L. Kroening; two sisters, Irma DeVantier and Eunice Heuer; and two brothers, Donald of North Tonawanda and Alvin.
The Bergholz Volunteer Fire Department will hold a memorial service at 7 P.M. today in DuBois Funeral Home, 2436 Niagara Road.

Eunice E. Heuer (Schimschack), age 80, of Washington Street, Bergholz, was called unexpectedly to her heavenly home on Sunday, June 15, 2008 at Mount St. Mary's Hospital. Born in the Town of Wheatfield, Niagara County, NY on August 29, 1927 to the late William and Hulda (Voelker) Schimschack. Eunice was a lifelong member of Holy Ghost Lutheran Church, where she was active in various organizations in the church over the years. She was a former active member of Tri-Community Ambulance Service and was a member of the Bergholz Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary, Wheatfield Seniors, Wheatfield Democratic Club, an elections inspector with the Niagara County Board of Elections, enjoyed playing euchre and pinochle, baking and candy making. Eunice had been employed at the Carborundum Company, coated abrasives division, helped operate the former family store in Niagara Falls, Heuer's Market with her husband, and then at Sanger's Market.Survivors include her daughter, Kathleen (Keith) Potter of Bergholz; granddaughter, Bethany Potter; longtime friend, Beulah; great-granddog, Murphy; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Lewis N. Heuer on January 21, 1994. They were united in marriage January 25, 1948; four brothers, Wilbert, Alvin, Donald and Vernon Schimschack; and three sisters, Irma DeVantier, Viola Schimschack and Edna Pfohl.Friends may call at the DUBOIS FUNERAL HOME, 2436 Niagara Road (Bergholz), in Wheatfield, on Monday from 7-9 PM and Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Janet was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, in Wheatfield. She was a devout Christian with a passion for our Lord. Janet loved cooking, baking, crafts, spending time with her family, and loved all animals.Preceded in death by her husband, Sherwood "Woody" Herman in 2016. They were married on September 2, 1961. Dickenson, 64, of Sanborn, NY, passed into eternal rest with his Lord and Savior at Schoellkopf Health Center in Niagara Falls on January 20, 2023, after a brief illness. He was born in Newark, NY, on April 17, 1958Harry was the foster son of his mother and father, the late Edna and Wallace Pfohl and was raised on their dairy farm in Niagara County. He is survived by a sister Carol (late Gilbert) Walck as well as a niece and nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews. He was a lifelong member of St Peter’s Lutheran Church where he often served as an usher and helped keep attendance records for both the church and Sunday school. He attended St. Peter’s Lutheran school and was a graduate of the Niagara Wheatfield class of 1977. After graduation, Harry had worked at various local businesses as well as helping on the family farm.Harry loved being a statistician for his Niagara Wheatfield sports teams and stayed in touch with many of the players and coaches. Harry enjoyed attending local sporting events and most Saturdays during the football season you would find him at the NW football field watching his Falcons. Being able to attend these events was made possible with the help of his good friend Brian Hapeman. Harry also enjoyed being a volunteer statistician and scorekeeper for the Lutheran Basketball League for over 45 years, it was his life.Harry often spoke about his love for music, especially German and Polka music. Harry had been a member of the Bergholz German Band and the American Legion Sikora Post Band of North Tonawanda where he played the drums for many years. Harry also took pride in participating in the Western New York Challenger Sports League’s bowling division which he attended for over 10 years.Service will be held on Tuesday (January 24) at 11:00 a.m. in St. Peter's Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Kurt Jensen officiating. Memorials may be made in Harry’s name to St. Peter’s Lutheran Church or St. Peter’s Lutheran School, 6167 Walmore Road, Sanborn, NY 14132.
