George A. Stremble, 74, of
2120 Ontario Ave., died
Saturday (Dec. 18, 1971) in
Memorial Medical Center after
a brief illness.
Born in Hamilton, Ont., he
lived here for 58 years.
He served three years with
the U.S. Army at the Mexican
Border. During World War I he
served with Company E, 108th
Infantry 27th Division and later
with the Naval Militia, being
discharged in 1919.
He worked for the city's
Department of Public, Works,
transferring to the electrical
department in 1923. He was
senior supervisor of the
electrical and traffic department
and later was city
electrician. He became,
superintendent of electrical
maintenance and retired after
45 years of service in 1964.
Mr. Stremble was active in
Scouting for over 30 years,
serving as neighborhood
commissioner in the Ongiara
District. He also was an avid
bowler, stamp collector,
photographer and gardener.
He was a member of the
Niagara Falls Camera Club,
the American Legion, the
I n t e r n a t i o n a l Signal
Association and St. Paul's
Calvary Lutheran Church.
Survivors include a
daughter, Mrs. John C. (Carol)
Eodice of this city; a son,
Albert J. Stremble of Highland,
Calif., and five grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held
at St. Paul's Calvary Lutheran
Church at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday
with the Rev. Theodore
L. Mentor officiating. Burial
will be in St. Paul's Lutheran
Cemetery, Bergholtz.
Friends may call at the Otto
Redanz Funeral Home from 7
to 9p.m. today and from 3 to 5
and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday.
