She came to the state 56 years ago and was married to Mr. Richert in Valley Creek. They celebrated their golden wedding anniversary December 4, 1928.
Surviving are the husband, eight children; Mrs. Ernest Wendt[Mathilda], Mrs George Hauck,[Teckla] Mrs. Alfred Christiansen[Alma], Mrs. Ortwin Lohman[Pauline], Mrs Eugene Haseley,[Agnes] ,Hugo, Oscar and Clarence Richert. 20 grandchildren, three sisters; Mrs. William Best of Afton, Mrs. August Meyer of Minneapolis and Mrs. August Scheel of Lake Elmo and a brother Paul Beutel of Minneapolis, also survive. Prominent Lake Elmo Man Passes to Beyond

J. E. Beutel, for forty years one of the prominent and progressive farmers of Washington county, died at his home in Lake Elmo, Tuesday, April 16th, at the age of sixty-three. Mr. Beutel has not been in good health for about 10 years, and a little less than three years ago he gave up farming and moved to Lake Elmo on account of his health.
Not until about February 1st, did his condition become alarming, when he went to a hospital for treatment of a kidney ailment. About the middle of the month he returned home improved, but on Good Friday he took a sudden turn for the worse, and on Easter day was taken to Bethesda hospital, where he kept gradually failing until the end.
John Ernest Beutel was born at Martinsville, New York, July 17th, 1864, and came with his parents to Minnesota in 1873, when his parents located in Afton Township, where they resided until 1885, when they moved to the farm two and one-half miles west of Lake Elmo that has since been the Beutel homestead.
In 1894 Mr. Beutel was married to Miss Ernstine Haseley, who survives him. As does two sons, Erwin A., who is assistant cashier of the Lake Elmo bank, and Edward F., who is farming the old homestead. There are also four sisters, Mrs. Adolph Richer, Stillwater. Mrs. August Meyer, Minneapolis; Mrs. Wm. Best, Afton, and Mrs. August Scheel, Lake Elmo.
Funeral services were held Friday afternoon, April 29th, at 1:45 from the late home and at 2:00 from St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Lake Elmo. Rev. A. W. Walck of St. Paul officiating. The pall bearers, all nephews of Mr. Beutel, were Anton Meyer, Arthur Meyer, Alfred Haseley, Wesley Haseley, Clarence Richert and Harold Kappler. Interment was in the church cemetery.

Sanborn. June 10. - Hanging to a beam in his barn, by a piece of clothesline, the body of William Beutel was found about two o'clock yesterday afternoon by the dead man's youngest son, and when the nearest neighbors - summoned by tho terrified youngster - had arrived, the body was still warm, but all attempts at resuscitation failed. Beutel was about 45 years old and resided with his family, on the Lockport road, near Walmore. He had been confined in the Buffalo State hospital on two different occasions, but since his return home two years ago, his mental condition has appeared normal. Mrs. Beutel and her oldest son were in Niagara Falls when the deed was committed. Deceased is survived by his wife and four sons - Edward, Rudolph, Walter, and Erwin - all of the town of Lewiston; one brother, John Beutel of Cambria, and one sister, Mrs. William Wendt of Sanborn, He was a lifelong resident of this township and was a member of the Walmore Lutheran church.

Mr. Beutel was born Nov, 24, 1877, in Wheatfield, the son of Fredericik and Albertine
Behm Beutel. He marrled Ida Schultz in 1801 and they made their home in Daniels Road, Town of Wilson, where they raised gladiolas for marketing.
In 1852, Mrs. Beutel died and in 1954 Mr. Beutel made his home with his son, Richard, at the Stone Road address.

He was a member of St.Peter's Lutheran Church, North Ridge.

Survivors, in addition to his son Richard, include a brother, Anton Beutel, Newfane; a sister, Mrs. Bernard Behm, Nortih Tonawanda; three grandchildren and four greatgrandchildren.

The family will be present from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Hamilton and Clark Funeral Chapel. Services will be held tfhere at 2 p.m. Monday and at 2:45 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Rev. STRUCK BY CAR, FARMER KILLED NEAR THIS CITY
Arthur Wendt Suffers Fatal Injuries; Dies Before Hospital Is Reached.
Hit by an automobile while walking along the Saunders Settlement road at 9:45 p. m. yesterday, Arthur Wendt, farmer, 42 years old, was fatally injured. The automobile was driven by G. M. Krick, 1722 Whitney avenue. Krick told Coroner W. L. Draper, who investigated the accident, that he was driving west and that the glare from headlights of a car approaching in the opposite direction prevented him from seeing Wendt.
Wendt suffered fractures of the neck; skull, both legs and left arm. He was taken to Memorial hospital, but was dead when he arrived there. Wendt was married and leaves a wife and six children. He had lived practically all his life on the Saunders Settlement road, about midway between this city and Sanborn. Krick was not held after he had made his statement to Coroner Draper and Undersheriff Cowdrick.

PENDLETON - Mrs. Laura Haseley, 81, of 4196 Lockport Rd., died Friday (Feb. 25, 1977) in Buffalo General Hospital after a long illness.
She was a native of the Town of Lewiston, and resided here for 57 years. She was a member of St. Peter's American Lutheran Church Women.
She was the wife of the late Louis F. Haseley who died in 1973. She is survived by two sons, Gordon of Lockport and the Rev. Louis C. Haseley of Valley Stream, N.Y.; four daughters, Lydia Haseley of Lockport, Mrs. Ihsan (Mildred) Hijazi of Beirut, Lebanon, Mabel Haseley of Chicago and Mrs. Wayne Ruth) Berger of Washington, D.C., and 16 grandchildren.
She was the mother of the late Arnold Haseley.

SANBORN - Esther N. (Beutel) Walck, formerly of Sanborn, died in Northgate Manor Nursing Home, Wheatfield, Tuesday (Aug. 11, 1987). She was 93. Mrs. Walck was a member of St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church and its Joy Circle group. She enjoyed sewing. She was the wife of the late Emil Walck. Surviving are daughters, Mrs. Al (Agnes) Turner and Ella Durkee of North Tonawanda, Minnie Zobrist of Las Vegas, Nev.; a son, the Rev. SANBORN-Edward J. Beutel, 66, of Robinson Road, died at his home Thursday (Sept. 28, 1967).
Mr. Beutel had been employed for the last four years as a farm hand at the Adolph Moll farm, where he made his home.
Born in the Town of Wheatfield July 5, 1901, he was the son of John and Hulda Pfohl Beutel and had been a resident of the area throughout his life. He had been employed in farm work. at various locations.
Survivors include two brothers, William and Hubert Beutel, both of Sanborn; three sisters, Mrs. Edwin Chaal (sic), Wilson, and Mrs. Emil Walck and Mrs. Adolph DeVantier, both of Niagara Falls.
Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the Pike and Jones Funeral Home, the Rev. Alfred W. Walck officiating. Burial will be in Wheatfield Cemetery.

William N. Beutel, 92, a retired well driller, died Thursday (Dec. 21, 1995) in his home on Tallman Street.
A native of Wheatfield, Beutel was a lifelong member and former trustee of St. Peter's Lutheran Church of Walmore.
He was a grain thresher from 1920 to 1950 in the towns of Wheatfield, Lewiston and Cambria. He then worked as a well driller throughout Niagara County from 1950 until he retired in 1965.
Survivors include his wife, the former Clara L. H. Bartel; two sons, John of the Town of Tonawanda and Herman; a daughter, Hilda Snyder; a sister, Agatha Schaal of Gasport; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

LOCKPORT - Alton P. Wendt of the Briody Nursing Home, a former Town of Cambria highway superintendent, died Sunday (Nov. 7, 1982) after a lengthy illness. He was 78.
A native of Sanborn, Wendt also operated a dairy farm, worked for the Lehigh Valley Railroad and was a well driller. He had worked for the Town of Cambria Highway Department for nine years, retiring in 1970. Frozen food pioneer was active in church
BERGHOLZ-Arnold R. Wendt, 82, of Niagara Road, died Sunday (Aug. I, 1993) at his residence after a lengthy illness.
He was born in Sanborn on May 22, 1911, the son of William and Emelie (Beutel) Wendt. He was a pioneer in the frozen food industry of Western New York. For 25 years, he operated his own business, formerly known as Wendt Frozen Foods on Furman Boulevard in Buffalo.
Mr. Wendt then worked for the former S.M. Flickenger County, now known as the Scrivner County, in Buffalo as a buyer in the frozen food division. He retired in 1976.
He was a member of St. James Lutheran Church, Bergholz, where he had served as an elder for three terms. He also was a member of the Gideons International.
He married the former Louise Milleville on Nov. 29, 1934.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Wendt is survived by a son, the Rev. Jerald Wendt of Whitewater, Wise.; two daughters, Anne Louise Schreiner of Palus Verdi., Calif., and Jeannine Ary of Sao Paulo, Brazil; 11 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
He was the brother of the late William Wendt, Laura Walck and Edna Walck.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and Friday at the DuBois Funeral Home, 2436 Niagara Road. The Rev. Cyril S. Hurnyak will conduct services at II a.m. Saturday in St. James Lutheran É (sic).

SANBORN - Edwin W. Beutel, 74, of 2427 Lockport Road, was pronounced dead on arrival today (July 9, 1974) in Memorial Medical Center, Niagara Falls, after an apparent heart attack at home.
He was a lifelong resident of the Town of Wheatfield, residing at the same address all his life. He had been employed at the Kimberly Clark Corp. as a machine operator where he had worked for over 30 years prior to retiring in 1965.

Sanborn - Rudolph A. Beutel, 58, of 2381 Lockport Road, a 30-year worker at Kimberly-Clark Corp, Niagara Falls, where he was employed as a machine operator until retiring three years ago, died today(Sept. 28, 1961) after being stricken with a heart attack in Buffalo.
He was pronounced dead on arrival at Edward J. Meyer Memorial Hospital where he was taken by ambulance.
A lifelong resident of this community, where he was born on Feb 20, 1903, Mr. Beutel was a son of the late William and Amelia Retzlaff Beutel. He was a lifelong member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Walmore.
Surviving are his widow, Louise Mueller Beutel; two sons, Leonard H. Beutel and James Morgan, both of this community; a daughter Mrs. LaVern (Ruth) Haseley, Niagara Falls; three brothers, Edwin, Irwin and Walter Beutel, all of Sanborn and eight grandchildren.

WILSON - Funeral services were conducted today for William R. Beutel, 65, of 4728 Chestnut St, this community, who died Saturday (July 2, 1966) at Lockport Memorial Hospital where he had been a patient for two day. Mr. Beutel was born July 17, 1906, in North Tonawanda, the son of August and Louise Praker Beutel. He was married April 11, 1931 to Gladys Maacks Beutel, who survives. He had operated a farm at the Chestnut Street address. Mr. Beutel was a member of St Peter's Lutheran Church at North Ridge, a former trustee and Sunday School teacher of the church and a former member of the Board of Christian Education. He was an exempt member of the South Wilson Fire Co. Besides his widow, he is survived by a son, Donald K. Beutel, this community; a daughter, Mrs. Myrlin (Shirley) Hall, Edgerton, Wis.; a sister, Mrs: Elwin (Hilda) Ahrens, Lockport, and seven grandchildren. Mr. Beutel also was the brother of the late Mrs. Mabel Goldpenny and Mrs. Gertrude Schuman. Rev. Mr. and. Mrs, Adelbert Sherman. No. 3 Niagara street, Mrs. Jacob Meahl. No. 466 Second street, this city, and Arnold Cumrow of Ransomville, were fatally injured when an auto owned by Sherman and in which all four rode early Sunday morning
was sideswiped by a Lehigh Valley freight train at the Ellicott creek crossing in Tonawanda. The Shermans are survived by two children, nine and eleven respectively. Mrs. Meahl is survived by her husband and two children aged seven and four respectively. The women were sisters. It was told here that Mr. Sherman was trying out a new car and that his wife at first objected to making the trip out Saturday night. Coroner Helwig will conduct an inquest. Sherman was a trusted employe at the Wm. A. Rogers, Ltd., and had lived here fourteen years. Mr. Meahl is employed in an up river plant.
Gasoline Explodes.
When the collision occurred the gasoline tank of the auto exploded and the vehicle was set on fire. The clothing of the woman and Cumrow caught fire. Sherman jumped into the creek from which his body was taken Sunday'morning. The others died in the DeGraff hospital. The two men and Cumrow were Jammed
in the car with their clothing on fire and the. train crew had to release them. An all night search for Sherman proved futile until daylight when the creek was dragged, He had a fractured skull and other injuries. He jumped from the car before it caught fire. Mrs. Meahl Will be buried in Akron, NY. Mr & Mrs. Sherman in Newfane, and Cumrow in Ransomville.

Mrs. Laura Munkelwitz of 516 N. Eighth St., Bayport, passed away at her home Saturday morning, Feb. 8, after a long illness. Mrs. Munkelwitz was born in Baytown township Aug. 10, 1904 and was married to Erick Munkelwitz June 25, 1925, at Lake Elmo. They have lived in Bayport for 30 years. Surviving are her husband, one son, Ronald of Bayport; Mrs. Robert MacAlister of Imperial Beach, Cal.; Mrs. Edwin Wikfors of Englewood, N.J., and Karen of Bayport; her mother, Mrs. Ernest Wendt; one brother Leonard Wendt of Stillwater, and one sister, Mrs. William Mariana of Bayport. Three grandchildren also survive. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Bethlehem Lutheran church at Bayport. The Rev. Alf Wattman will officiate. Warren E. Haseley of Port Washington passed to his eternal rest on October 20, 2018 at the age of 96. He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Bernice (Antoine) of Port Washington, daughter Susan (Keith) Campbell of Richfield, and sons Gary (Debra) of Port Washington and Warren (Marjorie) of Mt. Prospect, IL. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, sister Nancy (Paul) Swatek of Lake Geneva, and brothers Donald (Lillian) Haseley of Port Washington and Eugene (the late Betty) Haseley of Lake Geneva. Preceding him in death are two sons, Dean and Gregory, sisters Adene Haseley, Carol (the late Lawrence) Entress and Phyllis (the late Gerald) Klopp, brother Leonard “Skip” (Betty Jane) Haseley, as well as many friends and other family members. Warren was born in Lake Elmo, Minnesota, on February 17, 1922. His family moved to the Jackson/Cedarburg area before settling in Port Washington, where he graduated from high school. Warren was active in many sports and the high school band. After graduation, he entered the Army Air Corps and was stationed in San Angelo, Texas. After discharge, he attended LaCrosse State Teachers College where he was first chair trumpet in the college band. Warren graduated with a bachelor’s degree in physical education and recreation, and later went on to receive a master’s degree in Administration from Roosevelt University in Chicago. He and Bernice were married on June 17, 1950, at St. Mary Catholic Church, Lake Church, in the Town of Belgium. Warren taught at Southern Colony in Union Grove before he found a teaching position in Waukegan, IL, at Thomas Jefferson Junior High School. He taught physical education, health, and coached basketball for fourteen years before being offered an assistant principal’s position at Thomas Jefferson Middle School in Port Washington in 1968. Mr. Haseley retired from education in 1986, after spending 33 years educating and nurturing teachers and students. In retirement, Warren was active in many senior programs in Port Washington: he served on the Senior Citizen Counsel, played senior softball and started the senior horseshoes’ program in town. His love of music was very important to him; Warren was a charter member of the Ozaukee County Barbershop Chorus, and played his trumpet in the New Horizons Senior band. He and Bernice delivered Meals-on-Wheels for thirty years and he also volunteered for fish fries at his parish, St. John XXIII in Port. Warren was also a longtime member of the Van Ells-Schanen American Legion Post 82 in Port Washington.
Warren and Bernice were fortunate to travel to Hawaii and Austria, as well as many cities in the United States. He always expressed disbelief that he actually walked the paths in the Alps. He was amazed at all life had given him.
Warren’s wife and family would like to express their deep gratitude to all the friends and family for the support and love over the last year. Special appreciation and admiration is given to the caregivers and nurses of Harbor Club/Cove; their kindness and compassion will never be forgotten. The family also thanks Heartland Hospice, especially Ann, who took such good care of the entire family, especially Dad, and helped them understand and accept this difficult journey. Leonard Haseley or "Skip" as he was called by all who knew him passed away Tuesday, September 10th. He was born in Jackson, Wisconsin to Eugene and Agnes Haseley in1927. He has loved living in Paw Paw for almost 20 years with his wife of almost 65 years, Betty Jane, and close to his daughter Peggy and her family in Portage. Skip spent most of his early years ,the middle child in a family of 7 children, growing up in Port Washington, Wisconsin. Right out of High School he enlisted in the Navy and was sent to the Pacific theater. After his discharge he came back to Port Washington and married Betty Jane Kirsch whom he had dated in high school. They soon gave birth to a son, David. But, life took a twist and Skip was called back into to the Navy and sent back to the Pacific for the Korean War. Guess they figured he knew the Pacific. After the Korean War he was again discharged and this time for good. He came back to his young family in Port Washington and got a job at the local power company. Skip was not satisfied with being confined inside all day, not to mention working the all too often night shift. During this time Skip and Betty Jane gave birth to daughter Peggy. With his friendly personality and love of people, sales is where he felt he needed to be. One of his brothers was working at a local car dealership and said they were looking for salesmen. Skip jumped at the opportunity. Skip loved spending time with his family so after a few years of working weekends and evenings one of his other brothers, who was working for a lawn and garden manufacturer, encouraged him to pursue a sales position selling lawn and garden equipment. He would spend the next 30 years working in this industry as a successful, much liked and respected sales manager. When he retired from MTD in Cleveland at age 67 he and Betty Jane decided to move back to the central Michigan area where they had once lived and where Peggy & Gary and grandson Shain and his wife Sarah currently reside. Skip loved to sing and for many years sang with the Barber Shoppers. Everyone in the family who received a call from Skip on their birthday also got an added bonus of hearing "Happy Birthday" sung to them. He always had a melody in his voice and a song in his heart. Skip loved seeing his family, all of them, and when living in Port Washington where most lived, he and the family would spend the day visiting them all whether they wanted to or not. Skip is survived by his wife Betty Jane, son David and wife Jenny of Easton, MD, daughter Peggy and husband Gary of Portage, MI, grandson Alexander Haseley and wife Courtney, great granddaughter Avery of Paris, France, grandson Shain and wife Sarah of Scotts, MI. In addition, he is survived by brothers Warren, Donald and Eugene and sisters Phyllis, Carol and Nancy all from Wisconsin. The family will receive friends on Friday, September 13th from 2 to 3pm, at Life Story Funeral Home, 409 S. Main, Vicksburg (269-649-1697). Mr. Donald Haseley, of Port Washington, passed away with his family by his side at Aurora Zilber Family Hospice in Wauwatosa. He was 93 years old. Don was born in Kirchhayn, WI, on July 4, 1928, son of Eugene Haseley and Agnes Richert Haseley. The family moved to the Port Washington area, where Donald graduated from Port Washington High School with the class of 1946. After high school, Don served his country in the United States Army, playing trumpet in the 421st Army Band. He was honorably discharged in 1951. On October 9, 1954, Don married Lillian Wagner at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Barton. The couple settled in Port Washington to start their family. The couple were married for 64 years before Lillian preceded him in death in 2019. Don was the proud owner and operator of the Gamble's Store in Port Washington for many years. Later, he worked for Schmidt Bros. Dodge until his retirement. He was very active in his community, where he was a former member of the Port Washington Chamber of Commerce, the Port Washington Police and Fire Commission, and the Port Washington Kiwanis Club. Don was an active member of the American Legion Van Ells-Schanen Post 82 where he was a post commander (twice) and also a member of Post 5373 Veterans of Foreign Wars. For over 60 years, Don proudly served as Bugler for local honor guards, playing Taps whenever called upon for fellow veteran's funerals. Don is a current member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Grafton and a former member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Port Washington. Don is survived by his six children: Jeanne (Joe) Kunzelmann of Mt. Juliet, TN, Donald "Jim" (Maribeth) Haseley of Saugatuck, MI, Lori (Mike) Lanser of Sheboygan, Richard (Mary Kay) Haseley of Windemere, FL, Diane (Mike) Trowbridge of Hartford, and Robin (Jay) Hommel of Greer, SC. He is further survived by eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, his siblings Nancy (Paul) Swatek and Eugene Haseley both of Lake Geneva, a sister-in-law Bernice Haseley of Port Washington, other relatives and many friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Lillian, three sisters and two brothers. Private family funeral services will be held. He will be laid to rest with military honors at St. Mary's Parish Cemetery, Port Washington.

On June 12, 1954 Carol was united in marriage to the late Lawrence “Red” Entress at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Port Washington. Carol was a founding member of the Cedarburg Garden Club, and was active in Bible studies and gourmet club. She loved her music appreciation classes and was happiest with family around her. She loved gardening and was always generous with sharing plants from her spectacular gardens. She found her greatest joy with family - siblings, children and grandchildren. Her blue eyes, infectious smile and positive personality will be missed by many. A native of Wheatfield, Pfohl was a lifelong member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Walmore, where he had served on various committees and as president, elder and trustee. He worked for 10 years at the former Sales Book County, now Moore Business Forms, and then for 32 years as a stationary engineer at the Nabisco plant in Niagara Falls until he retired in 1974. Pfohl was a member of the Sanbornites Senior Citizens. His wife, Anna Mueller Pfohl, died in 1984. Wallace "Wally" Pfohl, 82, who operated the family farm on Lockport Road and worked on it even after his retirement, died Thursday (Oct. 5, 2000) in Mount St. Mary's Hospital, Lewiston, after a brief illness.
He was a lifelong resident of Wheatfield.
Pfohl was a member of the Agricultural Stabilization Conservation Service, Niagara County Farm Bureau, and had served on the Agricultural Districting Advisory Committee. In addition, he was a lifelong member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, where he served as trustee and on various project committees.
He played trumpet with bands, including the Bergholz German Band, with whom he traveled with to Europe, Canada and through the U.S.
Pfohl enjoyed cars, and often was seen driving his 1948 General Motors Corporation truck around town, as well as in parades.
His wife, the former Edna Schimschack, died in 1993.
Survivors include a daughter, Carol Walck; a foster son, Harry Dickenson; a sister, Erna Stenzel of North Tonawanda; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

NIAGARA FALLS — Minnie L. DuBois (Wendt), age 89, of Niagara Falls, was called to her heavenly home, peacefully, on Thursday, October 20, 2011 to be with our Lord and Savior, at her residence, with her loving family by her bedside and under the care of Niagara Hospice. Born in Niagara Falls, NY on August 12, 1922 to the late Arthur and Minnie (Haseley) Wendt. She was employed at the former International Paper Company in Niagara Falls for several years. Minnie was united in marriage to Walter E. DuBois on July 10, 1943, and they were married 65 years when Walter entered into rest on March 25, 2009. In 1944 she was stricken with polio and with everything she endured, she held on to her strong faith in God and was a loving and devoted wife and mother, raising three children. Minnie was a member of Holy Ghost Lutheran Church, in Bergholz, enjoyed making crafts, playing cards and dominoes, cooking, baking and spending time with her family and friends. She was also predeceased by a sister, Violet Cvetan and three brothers, Ervin, Reinert and Arthur Wendt.

Survivors include her three children, Karen (Frederick) Goltz of Niagara Falls, Robert DuBois of Bergholz and Curtis (Kathy) DuBois of Niagara Falls; a brother, Herbert (Leaner) Wendt of Avon Park, FL; nine grandchildren, Hao, Tim, Heather, Thao, April, Marci, Julie, Bill and Paul; nine great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Mrs. (sic) Haseley worked for the federal Department of Defense, Niagara Falls, for more than 30 years. She retired in 1977 as chief administrative officer of the Western New York Regulatory Office. She was a former member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Sanborn, and was a member of St. Martin's Lutheran Church, North Tonawanda. She also was an active member and past president of the Quota Club, Buffalo, and was treasurer of the German Historical Society of Western New York.
Mrs. (sic) Haseley was an avid reader and world traveler.
Survivors include two brothers, Gordon L. Haseley of Pendleton and the Rev. Louis C. Haseley of Holiday, Fla.; two sisters, Mildred ]. Hijazi of Carlsbad, Calif., and Ruth L. Berger of Annapolis, Md.; and 13 nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Arnold F. Haseley and Mabel L. Haseley.

PENDLETON - Former Niagara County Legislator and Town Justice Gordon L. Haseley, a dairy farmer and lifelong Pendleton resident, died Tuesday in Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center after a long illness. He was 83.
Mr. Haseley was a self-employed dairy farmer on the family's 200-acre Lockport Road farm until the early 1970s. He also was a life-fire-casualty insurance agent, stock broker, certified state nurseryman and landscaper. He served on the boards of the Dairy Council of Western New York, the Niagara County Milk Producers, the state Fish and Wildlife Management Service and the Sea Grant Lake Ontario advisory council.
He also was active in local civic affairs. He was founding chairman of the first Town of Pendleton Planning Board, served on the Pendleton Town Board in 1960, and as town justice from the late 1950s until 1970. He was a Niagara County legislator from 1970 to 1976, and a member of the Starpoint School Board for a decade after his legislative service.
Mr. Haseley was a member of St. Martin Lutheran Church in North Tonawanda, where he had served as treasurer, trustee and elder. He was a member of the New York State Magistrates Association, Tonawanda Sportsmans Club, Lions Club, and the Farm Bureau. He was a charter member of the Shawnee Volunteer Fire Company, and a member of NASDAQ and the 4-H.
"After he got out of dairy farming, he did his stone mason work, but I think he was really [most] proud of being on the Sea Grant board," said his daughter, Holly O'Connor. He helped Sea Grant with development strategies and environmental issues along Lake Ontario and the St. Lawrence Seaway, O'Connor said. She said her father also enjoyed being a town justice.
His hobbies included fishing, hunting, woodworking and gardening.
His first wife, of 19 years, the former Helen Thiele, died in 1968. Surviving are his wife of 31 years, the former Alice R. Widzinski; six children, Peter of Germany, Holly O'Connor of Chicago, Nancy Haseley of Las Vegas, Thaddeus M. Piechalak of Cheektowaga, Paul Piechalak of Buffalo and Gary Piechalak of Lancaster; a brother, Louis of Holiday, Fla.; two sisters, Mildred Hijazi of Carlsbad, Calif., and Ruth Berger of Annapolis, MD.; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. Monday in St. Martin Lutheran Church, 322 Old Falls Blvd., North Tonawanda. Interment will be in White Chapel Memorial Park, Amherst

Ex-Lockport Man Dies In Coast Crash
LOCKPORT - A former Lockport man was killed in an automobile accident Sunday (Feb. 14, 1965) while returning to his home in Corvallis, Ore., after a weekend drill with the Air Force Reserve at Portland, Ore. He was Capt. Arnold F. Haseley, 33, an associate professor at Oregon State University, while he was studying for his doctor's degree. He was a graduate of Purdue University, Mr. Haseley attended Lockport High School and graduated from North Tonawanda High School. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Corvallis, and was Sunday school superintendent.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Dana Alexander Haseley, and three children, Debra, Randall and Kristen Haseley, all of Corvallis; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Louis S. Rites Set For Victim Of Crash
NORTH TONAWANDA- Full military honors will be accorded to Capt. Arnold F. Haseley, 33, of Corvallis, Ore., formerly of Lockport Road, Town of Pendleton, who was fatally injured in an auto accident Sunday night near Salem, Ore.
The family and friend's will gather at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at St. Martin's Lutheran Church, Old Falls Boulevard, for a procession to White Chapel Memorial Park for burial. Rev. Luther Knauff, pastor of St. Martin's Church, will conduct a prayer service.
Participating in the military rites will be members of the 4621st Support Group, Niagara Falls Air Force Base. Capt. Haseley was a member of the Air Force Reserve in Oregon and was an instructor at Oregon State University.

Agnes W. Turner, 85, died Friday (Jan. 26, 2001) in Mount View Health Facility, Lockport, after a long illness. She had been a patient in the nursing home since 1993.
She was born Agnes Walck in Wheatfield and was a lifelong member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, where she taught Sunday school and was a member of the Lutheran Church Women's Circle.
She was a teacher's aide at Spruce Elementary School for several years and volunteered at DeGraff Memorial Hospital.
Her first husband, Lawrence Donner, died in 1979.

Bernhard "Bernie" Emil Walck, 87, born April 14, 1922 in Wheatfield, NY to Emil Frederick Walck and Esther Natalie Beutel, passed away July 11, 2009 in the care of his family members at his daughter, Sharon's home in Green Cove Springs, FL. He grew up in the Niagara Falls area. He graduated from Capital University and Trinity Seminary in Columbus, OH. Bernhard served churches in the New York, Ontario, Canada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Montana and California. During his stay in Montana, he also served as civilian chaplain to the United States Air Force radar base at Opheim, MT. Bernhard was married to Florence Evelyn Pepper in 1943. This union lasted for fifty two years. Four children were born to this union, Sharon, Cassandra, Deborah and Rebekah. Since his retirement, Bernhard has been a volunteer chaplain at the hospital in Orange Park, Florida, Homewood Village in The Villages and served as "Elder of Heart" at Leesburg Assembly of God. During his stay in Florida, Bernhard renewed his acquaintance with a former parishioner, Allie Taylor Coombes. This led to their marriage on April, 19, 1998 at the Leesburg First Assembly of God where they held their membership for years. Born in the Town of Niagara, NY on October 17, 1922; daughter of the late Adolph and Hilda (Beutel) DeVantier. A life long member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Sanborn, where she was currently the oldest member. Edna was active with St. Peter's Senior Citizens, the Cradle Roll, and quilter's group. She was also active with Daus House, in Bergholz as a curator for visitors. Edna and her late husband, Hugo C. Walck, were united in marriage on June 7, 1947. He passed on October 3, 1994. They maintained a home in Florida for many years, and welcomed family and friends to stay there. Hugo and Edna traveled extensively in Europe, the Pacific Islands, Australia, and caravanned cross country, into the Canadian Rockies, up to Alaska. Edna and her sister Lillian, enjoyed traveling to the Holy Land. She enjoyed baseball, and was a fan of the Toronto Blue Jays, and the Atlanta Braves. Edna was an accomplished horse back rider, and naturally musically gifted in playing the piano and organ. Earlier in life, Edna was employed at Moore Business Forms in the 1950's, Biagios Quality Inn located in Niagara Falls, as the head housekeeper, and then worked at Hotel Niagara when John's Restaurant took it over. Survivors include her loving daughters, Brenda and Linda, and their husbands, Joel Jaffe and Michael Rozyczko; a grandson, Michael Rozyczko; special niece, Judy Baribeau; special nephews, Grant, Glenn and Mark DuBois; many other nieces and nephews; and a great nephew, Harley. TOWN OF NIAGARA - Bert A. DeVantier, 64, of Lockport Road, died Sunday (May 7,1995) in Mount St. Mary's Hospital, Lewiston. He was born Feb. 6, 1931, in the Town of Niagara, the son of Adolph and Hilda (Beutel) DeVantier. He married Janice M. Kriedemann on Sept. 3, 1955. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He was employed by the Carborundum County, Buffalo Avenue plant, for 26 years before the plant closed. He also was self-employed for 20 years as the owner and manager of the Tired Iron Transport Co. A lifelong resident of the town, he was also a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Bert W. DeVantier of the Town of Niagara and Lee G. DeVantier of Seoul, Korea; two sisters, Lillian DuBois of the Town of Niagara and Edna Walck of Wheatfield; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the DuBois Funeral Home, 2436 Niagara Road. The Rev. She was a graduate of Wilson High School and she married Gale C. Pasquarette on November 22, 1958. They have resided in Cambria since 1969. Ruth was a very active member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Wilson. She enjoyed her workouts and exercising at the Lockport Athletic and Fitness Club.
She is survived by her husband, Gale; a son, Steve (Karen) Pasquarette of Honeoye Falls, NY; her grandchildren, Ryan, Miranda, Amy, and Aiden; and a great-grandchild, Spencer. She was predeceased by a son, Andrew Pasquarette; a brother, Elton Schaal; and two sisters, Dolores Schaal and Helen Wollaber.

Elton Schaal of Wilson passed away May 18, 2015 at the age of 85. Son of the late Edwin and Agathe Schaal and husband to the late Elizabeth (Morton) and brother to the late Helen Wollaber and Dolores Eckler. Elton was a local farmer and worked for Harrison Radiator. A United States Army Veteran who served during the Korean War. Elton was a devoted Christian and lifetime member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Wilson, NY.

He had a deep love for the land and his farm animals. He enjoyed selling his crops at the Niagara Falls and North Tonawanda City Markets. Most of all, he loved being at home and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his children, Dorothy (George) Preston of Ithaca NY, Nancy Simmons of Wilson, NY, Gloria (Thomas) Ierardi of Skaneateles NY; his sister, Ruth (Gale) Pasquarette; and his six grandchildren, Geoffrey and Emma Preston, Kiersten and Benjamin Simmons, Maria and Alex Ierardi.

John W. Beutel, 66, of the Town of Tonawanda, died Friday (Sept. 24, 1999) in Kenmore Mercy Hospital after a lengthy illness.
Born in Sanborn, he attended Trott Vocational High School in Niagara Falls. Beutel served in the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1955. He was stationed in Germany and achieved the rank of corporal before his discharge.
Before and after his military service, he worked in the family business, William Beutel and Sons, a well drilling business. He worked there until 1964 when he went to work at the General Motors Chevrolet Engine Plant in the Town of Tonawanda. He worked there for 33 years as a repairman, retiring in 1997.
In 1964, he married Patricia Ann Hickey. They settled in Tonawanda, where they were members of St. Amelia's Roman Catholic Church. Beutel was active in the parish's annual Catholic Charities Drive and was a past treasurer of the Tonawanda Boy Scout Troop 229.
He also was a member of the Western New York Gas and Steam Engine Association; the Western New York Two-Cylinder Club, the Western New York Railway Historical Society; and the Niagara Frontier Chapter of the National Railway Historical Society.
Prayers will be said at 8:30 A.M. Monday in the D. Lawrence Ginnane Funeral Home, 3215 Delaware Ave., Kenmore, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 in St. Amelia's Church, 2999 Eggert Road, Town of Tonawanda. Entombment will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Town of Tonawanda

Herman David Beutel, 69, of Sanborn, NY passed away on Monday June 5th, 2006 at Mt. St. Mary's Hospital, Lewiston, Niagara County, NY, after a brave battle with lung cancer.
He was born in Sanborn, NY, on April 10, 1937, to William and Clara [ Bartel ] Beutel. Mr. Beutel attended St. Andrews School, in Pekin; Wilson High School, Trott Vocational High School, in Niagara Falls, Niagara County, NY, and Bailey Technical School, in St. Louis, MO. He worked with his father and brother John in the family business, William Beutel and Sons Well Drilling. He also worked as a diesel mechanic for Brockway Trucks; Massaro Detroit Diesel; Niagara Diesel and Niagara Falls Coach Lines, prior to retiring on April 1, 1999.
Mr. Beutel served in the United States Army from August 16, 1960 to August 9, 1962. Most of his active duty was in Okinawa, Japan. He received and honorable discharge and completed six years in the reserve duty locally. On August 18, 1978 he married the former Carol [ Reid ] Morgan, at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, in Sanborn, NY. His hobbies included restoring old tractors and traveling. He traveled extensively with his wife Carol to all fifty States, seven Canadian Provinces, the Caribbean area and eight countries in Europe.
He was a lifetime member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church - Walmore, Sanborn, NY,a member of the Operating Engineers Local 17, Sanborn Area Historical Society and the Sanbornite Seniors.
Surviving is his wife Carol, sister Hilda Snyder, an aunt Gladys Beutel, of Sanborn; step sons, John Reid Morgan, of Lake Orion, MI; David Justin [ Ivy ] Morgan;granddaughter Kylie Morgan, all of Parma Heights OH; sisters in law Pat [ late John ] Beutel, Tonawanda, Erie County, NY; Ellen Reid, of Belmar, NJ; Marie [ Col. Larry ] Grundhauser, CO Springs, CO, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides his parents he was predeceased by his brother John Beutel; brother in law William Snyder, sister in law Pat [ Bruce ] Erhardt and one nephew, Timothy Snyder.

Howard H. Beutel of Lockport, NY passed away on Saturday April 28, 2018. Born on February 26, 1934 in Sanborn, NY and lived there most of his life. He was the son of Hubert and Gladys Bartel Beutel. Howard served in the Air Force from 1953 – 1961 and retired from Harrison Radiator in 1991. He enjoyed music, playing the fiddle and performing with friends, reading and building small windmills. Howard was a member of St. Michael’s Lutheran Church, Wolcottsville.

Rev. Beutel grew up in Sanborn, went to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and School, then later Starpoint High School. In his spare time, he enjoyed cooking, barbecuing, his John Deere, traveling, target shooting, and the outdoors. Rev. Beutel was predeceased by his parents and his brothers Jerry and Howard Beutel. 
Rev. Beutel is survived by his wife of 47 years Kathleen (Lange) Beutel, father of Laura (Ryan) Allen, Heidi Beutel, and Eric (Heidi Edmands) Beutel, brother of Raymond (Amanda), Bonita (the late Leonard) Forth, brother-in-law of Gail and Arlene Beutel. Donald William Wendt, formerly of Sanborn, NY, passed away on Monday, October 19, 2009, in Grand Rapids, MI. He was born April 20, 1920, in Sanborn, NY, the son of William B. and Grace E. Wendt. Mr. Wendt attended grade school at St. Andrews Lutheran School and LaSalle High School and Trott vocational school. He served in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers attached to the Air Force from 1942 until 1946 in the Azores' Islands. He was also stationed at Eniwetok, Saipan, Tinian Island and Okinawa. After being honorably discharged he was employed for 42 years as an Engineer for the Niagara Junction Railway and later Conrail, retiring in December of 1981. Mr. Wendt, together with his beloved wife, Dorothy became successful entrepreneurs in the opening of Wendt's Propane Gas in 1952. The company was a major supplier of propane gas to the massive Robert Moses Power Project on the Niagara River in the early sixties as well as many local customers. He was a former member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Sanborn for many years and then joined The First Assembly of God Church in Niagara Falls. Mr. Wendt was very fond of traveling, gardening, construction, hunting and fishing. He was the husband of fifty-four years to the late Dorothy Helen (Walck) Wendt, who died in January of 2006. Together they are the parents of Gary (Jacquelyn) of Tuscaloosa, AL, Douglas ( Marion) of Grand Rapids, MI and Susan of Lockport, NY; three brothers, Glenn (Jean), Kenneth (Dianne), Forrest (late Gail) Wendt; a sister, Gracelyn (late John) Bilek, all of Sanborn, NY; brother-in-law of Norine and Darla Wendt; also survived by eight grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. SANBORN - Marvin W. Wendt, 73, of Shenk Road, a Niagara County legislator from 1978 to 1991, died Tuesday (Aug. 20, 1996) in Mount St. Mary's Hospital, Lewiston.
He was born on Nov. 23, 1922, in Cambria, the son of William and Grace Wendt. On June 17, 1944, he married the former Ruth O. Belling in St. Martin's Lutheran Church, Marvin W. Wendt North Tonawanda.
Born in Cambria, he was self-employed as a well driller and excavator from 1944 to 1989.
From 1978 to 1991, Mr. Wendt served as a Niagara County legislator.
He was a member of the Western New York and the New York State Volunteer Firemen's Association, and was active in civic affairs. He was a charter member of the Sanborn Lions Club. He was very active with the Republican party and was a past Republican committeeman.
He served as past president of the Sanborn Fire Company, where he also was a past assistant fire chief, past president of the Niagara County Volunteer Firemen's Association, past treasurer of both St. Martin's Lutheran Church in North Tonawanda and St. Peter's Lutheran Church on Walmore Road, where he was a member.
He was an avid fan, as well as a collector, of old steam engines, and was active in the Western New York Gas and Steam Association, where he served as director.

Bertram F. Wendt, 74, a cymbal player in the Sanborn Fire Company Band since 1945, died Sunday (Jan. 23, 2000) in Sisters Hospital after a long illness.
Wendt had joined the fire company in 1943, but his passion was the fire company's award-winning 60-piece marching band. In an interview with The Buffalo News in July 1999, he said, "The band comes first -- besides my church."
So dedicated was Wendt that he kept playing the cymbals in a wheelchair during the last three years of parades, because a back injury kept him from marching fast enough to keep up with his band mates.
"Back in '95, I injured my back trying to restart a snow blower after it stalled," Wendt said in the interview. "When I pulled the cord, it kicked back and twisted my back. Then the arthritis set in."
A Sanborn native, Wendt attended local elementary schools and Trott Vocational High School in Niagara Falls.
He worked at Hoover's Dairy in Sanborn, and then at A.E. Gombert Lumber Co. in North Tonawanda before taking a job as a mill worker and truck driver at Sanborn Milling Co. for more than 20 years. In later years, he delivered flowers every spring for Sanborn Greenhouse.
Wendt served six years on the fire company board of directors. When he became an exempt member, he took up fire police duties and served as fire police captain from 1981 to 1996.
On Jan. 11, 1992, the Town of Lewiston presented him its first firemen's incentive award.
Wendt was a longtime member of St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Wheatfield. He was a church trustee for eight years, Sunday school secretary for 20 years and custodian of St. Peter's Lutheran School for 29 years.
He was a former member of the LaSalle Sportsmen's Club and an avid fan of the New York Yankees.
Survivors include his wife of 49 years, the former Norine M. Walck; three daughters, Sally A. Kelley of Cleveland, TN., and Laurie L. Draper and Darlene C. Giannini, both of Wheatfield; five brothers, Donald, Glenn, William B. Jr., Kenneth, and Forrest; a sister, Gracellyn Bilek; and four grandchildren.

Glenn L. Wendt of Sanborn, NY, passed away on Thursday, March 23, 2017, in DeGraff Memorial Hospital, North Tonawanda, NY. He was born at home in Sanborn on May 7, 1930, the son of the late William B. and Grace E. (Wendt) Wendt. Mr. Wendt attended Trott Vocational High School. He worked with his uncle at Wendt Frozen Foods in Buffalo before taking over the family farm and sold Minneapolis Moline tractors. Mr. Wendt worked construction with Smith Brothers and became an operating engineer with Operating Engineer Local 463, until retiring in 1995. He was a life-member of the Sanborn Fire Company, where he served as President and Fire Chief. He had been on every truck committee since 1966 up until the two last fire trucks were purchased. He was active in all the fire companies' activities. Mr. Wendt served as Past President of Niagara County Fire Chiefs Association, FASNY and many other fire related associations. He was a member of the Sanborn Historical Society and Holy Ghost Lutheran Church and enjoyed spending time with his family, traveling and NASCAR. William B. Wendt Jr., a former Town Board member, died Wednesday (Jan. 28, 2004) in Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center after a lengthy illness. He was 71.
A lifelong area resident, he attended local schools.
Wendt served in the U.S. Navy from 1952 to 1960, partly during the Korean War, aboard the USS Cainard.
"Junior," as he was known by many, was a well driller and plumber most of his working career. His business card for Ken Wendt's Propane Gas Service, said "Jr. Wendt, Jack of All Trades." He retired in 1989.
A Cambria Town Board member during the mid- to late 1970s, he was an exempt member and former treasurer of Sanborn Fire Company and was a bass drummer in the company's marching band.
Wendt was past president and treasurer of Niagara County Volunteer Firemen's Association. For many years, he was judge for the association's volunteer firemen parades.
He was past commander of the Sanborn American Legion post and a former member of the Sanborn Lions Club, serving as chairman of the annual chowder sale for several years.
Wendt was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, North Tonawanda. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and bowling.
Survivors include his wife of 45 years, the former Darla Wackett; two daughters, Tammy Payne and Laura Lee Wiepert, both of Ransomville; a son, Richard of North Tonawanda; four brothers, Donald, Glenn, Kenneth and Forrest, all of Sanborn; a sister, Gracellyn Bilick of Sanborn; 10 grandchildren; and a great-grandson.
Services will be at 11 A.M. Monday in St. Paul Lutheran Church, 64 E. Felton St., North Tonawanda. Burial will be in Mount View Cemetery, Cambria

Kenneth L. Wendt, of Sanborn, NY, passed away on Thursday, December 10, 2009, at Hospice Buffalo, Cheektowaga, NY. He was born in Sanborn, NY on January 21, 1934, the son of the late William B. and Grace E. (Wendt) Wendt.Ken graduated from North Tonawanda High School. He was a Seabee with the U.S. Navy, during the Korean Conflict. He was employed as a painter with Lou Anastasi, with his brother, Donald, at Wendt's Gas and with Niagara Mohawk for several years. Ken started Ken Wendt's Propane Gas Service in Sanborn in 1968, which he continued to operate for the next 35 years. He was a State and National officer with the Seabee Veterans of America, a member of the Island X-8 Tonawanda Seabees and chairman of the Seabee Monument Committee on River Road. He was a member of the Sanborn Fire Co. for 58 years and a member of the Fire Companies Exempts, NYSFA. Ken was active in the Sanborn Community over the years as a member of the, Sanborn Lions Club, the Niagara Central Rotary Club and the Sanborn Historical Society. He will always be remembered, for his "Can Do" attitude. Ken is survived by his wife of 51 years, Dianne S. (Sawyer) Wendt; three sons, Mark K. (Maria) Wendt of Waldorf, MD, Paul R. (Susan) Wendt of Ransomville, NY and Todd W. Mrs. Bilek enjoyed gardening, cooking and was involved with many community and group activities.   She was a member of the Sanborn Fire Women's Auxiliary and St. Paul's Evangelist Lutheran Church.    Her most cherished time was spent with her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchild.
Mrs. Bilek was the wife of the late John J. Bilek, who passed away in June of 2009. She is survived by her children Wayne J. Bilek,  Craig J. Bilek and Denise R. (Steven) Calvaneso, grandchildren, Rachel V. Bilek, Ashley DiPietro and Dominique (Brian) Dibble, Enzo Calvaneso and Joshua Hertel, great-grandson Valentino, one brother Forrest (late Gail) Wendt, a sister in law Jean Wendt,  also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Norma A. Pfohl, age 99, of Sanborn, NY, passed away on Sunday, November 23, 2014, in Our Lady of Peace Nursing Care Residence. She was born in the Town of Wheatfield, on April 25, 1915, the daughter of the late Benjamin and Laura [Wendt] Walck.

Mrs. Pfohl was a life long resident of the Sanborn area. She helped her husband Hubert run the family farm for many years. She was a lifetime member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church Walmore and loved spending time with her family and friends. Mrs. Pfohl and her husband lovingly took care of their invalid daughter the late Karen Pfohl, who died in 1999.

She was the wife of the late Hubert F. Pfohl, who died in September of 2003. Mrs. Pfohl is survived by two daughters Beverly (Charles) Pendergast and Janet (David) Tober both of Sanborn, five grandchildren Mark (Nancy) Miller, Kristen (Johnny) Seawell, Rachel (Daryl) Haseley, Beth (Steven) Guidetti and Michael (Stephanie) Tober, ten great grandchildren Lauren, Ryan and Addison Miller, Brett and Jeremiah Seawell, Lauren and Riley Haseley, Emily Guidetti and Luke and Jane Tober. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Benjamin Walck, Emily DuBois and Allen Walck.

SANBORN - Benjamin C. Walck Jr., 54, of 2617 Lockport Road, died Wednesday Mount St. Mary's Hospital after a long illness.
He was a native of the Town of Wheatfield and served during World War II with the U.S. Army.
Mr. Walck had worked for the New York State Highway Department for 15 years at the time of his death and was a member of St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church Walmore, Wheatfield American Legion Post 145 Amvets Post 26 of North Tonawanda, Civil Service Employees Association, and the American Federation of State, County, and municipal employees.
He is survived by his widow Lorena; four daughters Louise, Barbara, and Linda Walck of Sanborn, and Mrs. David (Marie) Shannon of Key, West, Fla.; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Walck, and two sisters, Mrs. Hubert (Norma) Pfohl and Mrs. Herbert (Emily) DuBois all of Sanborn; and one grandson, three nieces and two nephews.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church with the Rev. Harold L. Baum officiating. Burial will be in St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery.

Councilman Lawrence A. Walck, 66, died Thursday (Jan. 3, 1991) after he was stricken at his home on Upper Mountain Road.
A native of Wheatfield, Walck had been a Cambria town councilman for 12 years and intended to run for re-election next fall.
He had no opponent in his last campaign for re-election in 1987, when he was nominated by the Republican and Conservative parties.
Walck retired June 30 as a compositor at the Tonawanda News after 42 years in the printing industry.
He began his apprenticeship at the Lockport Union-Sun and Journal, then worked at the Niagara Gazette. He joined the Tonawanda News in 1960 and had served as chapel chairman for the International Typographical Union.
He was a 17-year member of the Pekin Fire Company, serving in various offices, including as treasurer.
He also was vice president of the Exempt Firemen of Pekin, local publicity director for the Lutheran Laymen's League and a member of Messiah Lutheran Church of Lewiston.
Walck had coached baseball in Cambria and was a member of the Tonawanda and Niagara County Sportsmen's associations.
Survivors include his wife, the former Jean Becken; two sons, Jerry of Lewiston and Donald; two daughters, Patricia Purdy of Williamsville and Pamela; four brothers, Herbert and Clarence, both of Lyndonville, Earl of Niagara Falls and Delbert of Chesapeake, Va.; two sisters, Margaret Budnack of Newfane and Edith Sherbert of Rochester, and five grandchildren.

HERBERT A. WALCK Mr. Herbert A. Walck, of the Town of Ridgeway, passed away on Saturday evening, March 1, 2008 at the Medina Memorial Hospital. Mr. Walck was born in Wheatfield, September 7, 1925, a son of the late Andrew and Edna (Wendt) Walck. On March 5, 1949, he married the former Janet Lund and the couple were longtime area residents. Active in the community, he was a member and Trustee of the Lyndonville United Methodist Church, Past President of the Lyndonville Lions Club, a longtime member of the Ridgeway Republican Committee and the Lyndonville Area Foundation. He was very interested in antique automobiles and was a member of the Pierce Arrow Club, Antique Automobile Association of America, Model T and Early V8 Club, and enjoyed attending Cruise Nights and the Hershey Flea Market. He was an avid reader. Twenty six years ago, he donated a kidney to his son, Stewart. He was employed by several Western New York publications including the Medina Journal Register, as a printer, and retired from FMC as a mechanic. He was well- known in the area for his heating and plumbing abilities. NIAGARA FALLS — Lorraine M. (Wendt) Witkop, age 80, was called to her heavenly home on March 10, 2011 at the Hurlbut Nursing Home, Henrietta, NY, after a long battle with Parkinson's disease. She was formerly of Lockport Road in Sanborn.

Despite the loss of her husband, Kenneth Witkop in 1974 at an early age, and her numerous hardships and health problems, it is difficult to think of a time in which she complained and how three of these remained: Faith, Hope and Love. But the greatest of these is Love- 1 Corinthians 13:13.

If a life is to be measured by personal possessions, her life missed the mark. But if life is to be measured by Faith in a risen Savior, Hope in eternal life and Love to all, then her life was rich indeed, and we are richer for having known her. Lorraine was a long time member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in North Tonawanda, where she was active with the Ladies Aid. She also enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening and loved children.

Survivors include her son, Jeffrey (Dawn) Witkop of Rochester; two grandchildren, Adam Kenneth Witkop and Kristen Marie Witkop; two brothers, Ronald and Joel Wendt; two sisters, Jane Kroening and Marlyn Gross; and many nieces and nephews.

Ronald had a great sense of humor and was known to always express that the Doctor's fee for his delivery at his family home was $15.00. He was the son of the late Alton and Irene (Blank) Wendt. He married Barbara Szathmary in August of 1952 and they enjoyed 45 wonderful years together. Ron was a member of the Sanborn Fire Company Marching Band for over 50 years where he played bass-horn. He worked for the Niagara County Highway Department for over 20 years. Ron was the owner of Morning Dale Farms formerly of Sanborn, New York and Lockport, New York. Ron loved to work-hard and was an active Farmer his entire life. He had a love for John Deere tractors and enjoyed the outdoors. He was an avid hunter, hunting in the Adirondacks with his hunting partners for 50 straight years. He enjoyed sharing his hunting stories from hunting in the Adirondacks with friends and Family. Ron was a lifetime member of the NRA and staunch defender of the Second Amendment. He was a life-long member of Saint Paul Lutheran Church in North Tonawanda until its closing. Ron enjoyed spending time with his Family.
His wife Barbara passed away in June of 1998.
Ron is survived by his sons David R. (Melissa) Wendt and Michael S. (Elaine) Wendt, five grandchildren Stephen, Matthew (Bridget), Robert, John and Thomas, a sister Marlyn (late Carl) Gross, a brother Joel (Barbara) Wendt, two brother in laws Robert (late Helen) Perry and Joseph (Barbara) Szathmary, also several nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Loraine (Kenneth) Witkop and Jane (Edgar) Kroening.

JANE MARIE KROENING, age 85, was called to her heavenly home on April 12, 2019 in Gilbert, Arizona, where she resided for the past two years. Born in Niagara Falls, New York on October 24, 1933; daughter of the late Elton and Irene (Blank) Wendt. A lifelong member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Walmore, where she was active with the seniors, Women of the church, choir member, and quilting.
Jane was a resident of Sanborn for the majority of her life. She was employed at Starpoint Central School, in the cafeteria, where she loved to see her grandchildren standing in line for lunch. Hobbies and interests included sewing, bowling, gardening, growing pumpkins, and the time spent at the family cabin. 
Jane was predeceased by her husband, Edgar Kroening, on July 1, 1994; a son, Mark Kroening; and a sister, Lorraine Witkop.
Survivors include two children, Brenda (Rick) Kline of Eloy, AZ, and Gerald (Linda) Kroening of Sanborn, NY; daughter in law, Darla Kroening-Retzlaff; two brothers, Ronald Wendt and Joel (Barb) Wendt; a sister, Marlyn; seven grandchildren, Heather Kline, Jamie (Todd) Conklin, Jason (Courtney) Kroening, Lindsay (Shawn) Chapels, Tyler (Laura) Kroening, Matthew and Brock Kroening; eight great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the DuBois, 2436 Niagara Road, (Bergholz) in Wheatfield, on Friday, May 10 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Services will be conducted by the Rev. Thomas Thorstad, on Saturday, May 11 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Peter's Lutheran Church, 6168 Walmore Road, Sanborn, NY 14132. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the church.
