Frances E. DeVantier
SANBORN - Mrs. Frances E. DeVantier, 73, of 6219 Ward Road, formerly of Lockport Road, died today (March 26, 1975) in Memorial Medical Center, Niagara Falls after a long illness.
She was a native of the Town of Wheatfield and had resided in the Walmore-Sanborn area all of her life. She was a member of St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church of Walmore. She was predeceased by her husband, William J. DeVantier, who died in 1968.
Mrs. DeVantier is survived by three daughters, Miss Virginia DeVantier, Mrs. Leonard (Mabel) Beutel, both of Sanborn, and Mrs. Melvin (Elaine), Pfohl, of Niagara Falls; a sister, Mrs. Clarence (Esther) Wittkop of Niagara Falls and six grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church. The Rev. Harold L. Baum will officiate.
Burial will be in St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Rhoney Funeral Home in Sanborn from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and Friday.

Mrs. Esther L. Wittkopp, 71, of 2906 South Ave. died Saturday (April 10, 1982) at Memorial Medical Center after a short illness. She was a native of Walmore, N.Y., and came to this city in 1931. She was employed at Moore Business Forms as a presswomen from 1940 to 1960 and worked as a clerk at Slipko's food store from 1963 to 1973. She was a 50-year member of St. Paul's Calvary Lutheran Church and was active in church activities. She and her husband, Clarence P. Wittkopp, who survives, celebrated their golden wedding anniversary Sept. 5, 1981. In addition to her husband, she is survived by one son, Kenneth R. Wittkopp of this city; two daughters, Mrs. Roger (Doris) DeVantier of Cherry Hill, N.J., and Mrs. Albert (Bernice) McLean of this city; and eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. . Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at St. Paul's Calvary Lutheran Church with the Rev. Douglas R. Behn of St. Paul's officiating. Burial will be at St. Paul's Calvary Lutheran Cemetery. Elaine J. Pfohl, age 79 of Niagara Falls, NY, was called to her heavenly home on Saturday, November 11, 2017, in Niagara Hospice House, Town of Lockport, NY. Born in Town of Niagara, NY on February 14, 1938, daughter of the late William and Frances (Walck) DeVantier. 
Elaine was a homemaker who loved taking care of her family and her flowers. She was a very active member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, in Sanborn, where she loved singing hymns.
Elaine is survived by her loving husband, Melvin, of 60 years; three children, Donna (Robert) Knights of Penfield, NY, Barbara Walck of Sanborn, NY, and Gary (Karen) Pfohl of Asheboro, NC; four grandchildren, Lindsey Knights, Laura Knights, Megan (Peter) Fendt, and Jenna Walck. She is survived by her sister, Virginia DeVantier and predeceased by her sister, Mabel Beutel. 
Friends may call at the DUBOIS FUNERAL HOME, 2436 Niagara Road, (Bergholz) in Wheatfield, on Monday (November 13) from 4-8 p.m. Services will be conducted by the Rev. Born in the Town of Niagara, NY on November 1, 1926, daughter of the late William and Frances DeVantier. Virginia resided at Opportunities Unlimited, on Sy Road, Wheatfield. A special thank you to her caregivers who showed their love to her over the years. Virginia is predeceased by her parents; sisters, Mabel (Leonard) Beutel, and Elaine Pfohl. She is survived by her brother in law, Melvin Pfohl; and several nieces and nephews. Her funeral service will be conducted by the Rev. Mabel L. Beutel, 72, died Thursday (Nov. 15, 2001) in Mount St. Mary's Hospital, Lewiston, after a short illness.
Mrs. Beutel was born Mabel DeVantier in the Town of Niagara. She attended area schools and was a lifelong member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church.
A homemaker, Mrs. Beutel was an excellent baker. Her family said they will especially remember her pies.
Survivors include her husband of 47 years, Leonard H.; two sons, Larry J. of Iowa Lake, TX, and Loren H. of Wheatfield; a daughter, Linda J. Haseley of Pendleton; two sisters, Elaine Pfohl and Virginia DeVantier, both of Niagara Falls; and six grandchildren.
Services will be held at 11 A.M. Monday in St. Peter's Lutheran Church, 6168 Walmore Road. Burial will be in St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery

Cherry Hill - Doris J. DeVantier, age 84, of Cherry Hill passed away after a short illness on December 5, 2017. She was the devoted and loving wife of the late Roger DeVantier for 62 years. Doris was born in Niagara Falls, NY the first child of the late Clarence and Esther Wittkopp. Doris and Roger moved to Cherry Hill in 1957. After passionately raising four children (some required more effort than others), she decided to return to school and earned her diploma as a licensed practical nurse. She helped numerous patients in the Delaware Valley. She was a charter member of St. Michael's Lutheran Church where she was active and energetic in the life of the church until her death. Doris enjoyed knitting, sewing, ceramics, choir singing, and travel. Most of all she was devoted to her family. Roger and Doris especially cherished the annual vacations at Sea Isle City, NJ. They educated us about God's most incredible gift - our Family. Her amazingly strong character taught us lessons that are being passed down to multiple generations through her children and grandchildren. Her last few years of life were challenged by numerous physical and emotional heartaches. She faced all of them with a positive attitude, grace, and exceptional strength that are a true inspiration to all who knew her. She was predeceased by her husband Roger, daughter Joyce White and son Mark DeVantier. Left to cherish her memory include her children Wayne (Pam) DeVantier of Chesapeake, VA, Keith (Betty Jo) DeVantier of Cornelius, NC , daughter in law Vickie DeVantier of Richardson, TX, and son in law Don White of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL. Nine adoring grandchildren Drew White, Nicole White, Rachel (Joe) Rice, Audra DeVantier, Kristie Jo (Josh) Schutt, Brent (Kendra) DeVantier Jamie Lee (Ryan) Hillary , Laura DeVantier and Ross DeVantier, as well as four great-grandchildren. (Walck) Wittkopp. She attended local schools and worked at Carborundum Company Globar Division, Hyde Park Blvd. as a production worker for over 30 years, retiring in 1999. Bernice enjoyed reading and doing crossword puzzles. She is survived by her stepdaughter, Karen (John) Edwards of St. Davids, Ontario, Canada; her brother, Kenneth Wittkopp of Florida; and her-sister, Doris (Roger) DeVantier of Cherry Hill, New Jersey; dear friends, Joan Radel, Janice Martel, Rich and Joan Weslowski and Mary Cowling. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Albert McLean who died July 1, 1990. At Bernice's request there will be no prior visitation. Mark R. DeVantier, age 57 and a resident of Richardson, TX, for 21 years, passed away February 27, 2015. He was born November 12, 1957, in Camden, NJ, to Roger Donald DeVantier and Doris Jane (Wittkopp) DeVantier and was a contract negotiator in the telecommunications industry. Mark was a very active member of First United Methodist Church of Plano, where he served on the Staff Parish Relations committee, the finance committee and was a trustee. In his spare time, he loved spending time at the beach, diving, swimming and taking long walks. One of the family’s annual traditions was a vacation at the South Jersey Shore with his parents, wife, daughters, siblings and many nieces and nephews, all who looked forward to this trip. While at home he loved being outdoors, working on projects or just enjoying the beauty of nature. Mark enjoyed all sports, especially golfing and fishing and was an obnoxious Philadelphia Eagles fan. He dearly loved his church, his Sunday school family and all of his family. Mark is survived by his wife: Vicki DeVantier of Richardson, TX; two daughters: Rachel DeVantier of Dallas, TX, and Audra DeVantier of Richardson, TX; two brothers: Wayne DeVantier of Chesapeake, VA, and Keith DeVantier of Westchester, PA; parents: Roger and Doris DeVantier of Cherry Hill, NJ; mother-in-law: Janell Alexander of Rockwall, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister: Joyce White. Funeral services will be held 11:00am, Wednesday, March 4, 2015, at First United Methodist Church of Plano, 3160 E. She loved quilting, gardening, and bird watching. Joyce was always fun loving with family and friends, but humbly reserved.
