Rev. Louis E. Heuer
The Rev. Louis Heuer, 87, of St. John's Lutheran Home in Mars, Pa., died yesterday (Jan. 16,1983). The Rev. Mr. Heuer graduated from Martin Luther Seminary in Buffalo, and served congregations in Livoma, Minn.; Akron, N.Y.; Holldays Cove, W.Va.; Columbus, Ohio; and Yorkville, Ill. After his retirement he lived in Grove City, Ohio, where he continued to serve as a supply pastor. He spent the last several years at the St. John's Lutheran Home. He is survived by his wife Wilhelmine (Mueller) Heuer; a son, the Rev. Bernard (Betty) Heuer of Whiting, N.J.; daughter Gertrude (the Rev. Willard) Kalk of Fairport Harbor, Ohio; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a brother-in-law, Edward (Edna) Mueller of Niagara Falls; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at St. James Lutheran Church in Bergholz. The body will lie in state beginning at 2 p.m. in the church sanctuary. Interment will be in St. James Lutheran Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions to St. John's Lutheran Home in Mars, Pa.,. are acceptable as tribute.

Heuer, 66, Whiting, N.J.: born April 15, 1920; died Jan. 19, 1987; served as U.S. Navy chaplain (1944- 46 and 1952-54); parishes in Columbus (1947-50), Middletown (1950-52), and Greenville (1954-59), Ohio; chaplain for LSS of Northwestern Ohio (1959-68); administrator of St. John Lutheran Home, Mars, Pa. (1968-79); parish in Whiting, N.J., from 1979 until he retired in 1985.
