Friedrich William August Haseley, son of Christian Haseley, and his wife Friderike nee Jagow was born June 7, 1880 at Bethlehem, Effingham County, Il. He was baptized there on June 13, 1880 by Pastor G. Goesswein and also confirmed there March 18, 1894 by Pastor C. H. Lueker. He was married on May 1, 1901 by F.W. Brockman. His life was spent in the Altamont community. He had been failing in health for some time. He entered the Effingham Hospital on Sunday, Oct 16. His end came on Saturday morning, Oct 22, at 3 o'clock. He reached the age of 75 years, four months, and fifteen days. Funeral services were conducted in Immanuel Lutheran Church at 2 o'clock Monday afternoon Oct 24, 1955 by Rev. Hans Bruss. Burial was made in Union Cemetery. Text was 2 Tim 4, 7-8. Preceding him in death was his daughter Elnora.in Aug. 1944. Those who remain to mourn his departure re his wife Lydia, his son Elmer and wife, Grace; his daughter Mildred, his brother Otto Haseley, of Vera, IL. and many other relatives and friends. Pallbearers were Elmer Schwerdtfeger, Alfred Yagow, Adolph Haseley, Otto Schroeder, Clarence Schroeder, and Walter Haseley.

ALTAMONT - Bertha Marie Rosine Haseley Brauer , 101, of Altamont entered into eternal life with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday (Dec. 26, 2007). Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday in Immanuel Lutheran Church, Altamont, with the Rev. Mitchel Schuessler officiating. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday in Gieseking Funeral Home, Altamont. Burial will be in Immanuel Lutheran Church Cemetery. Memorials: Immanuel Lutheran Church, Lutheran Care Center or donor’s choice. Mrs. Bauer was born March 28, 1906, in Altamont, the daughter of John and Albertine Krueger Haseley. She was baptized by Pastor C. Luecker on April 4, 1906, in Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Altamont, and was confirmed in faith by Pastor F.W. Brockmann. Mrs. Brauer was known for her enduring hospitality to everyone she encountered, whether friend, family or stranger. She would never let anyone go home without having a sample of her pies, cookies or cakes. Her generous spirit of Christian love and concern continued during her last years at the Lutheran Care Center, where she would bring joy and hope to her many fellow residents. Mrs. Brauer was a faithful member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and the Ladies Aid organization and has served on many committees and in numerous offices during her long years of service. She married Henry A. Brauer on Sept. 28, 1930. He preceded her in death March 19, 1981. He was born Jan. 29, 1955, in Knox to Herbert and Hazel (Ecker) Haseley.
Mr. Haseley had worked as a truck driver.
Surviving are two sons, Tony (Erin) and Mark, both of Bremen; one grandchild, Taylor; one sister, Nancy Nabholz of Bremen; two brothers, Paul of Argos and Tim of Zionsville, Ind.; and his girlfriend, Sharon Wyatt of Knox.
His parents and one brother, David, preceded him in death.

Timothy Wayne Haseley, 59 years old of Zionsville, IN, passed away unexpectedly on December 10, 2022.He was comfortable and surrounded by family and loved ones in Pensacola, FL, when he departed this earthly life. Tim leaves behind his wife, Kathleen Veit Haseley; his three children, Sean Haseley (Molly), Kristin Haseley and Allison Powell (Bryan), as well as his three stepchildren, Chad Blankenship (Tara), Nicole Blankenship and Shawn Blankenship. Tim also leaves behind his brother Paul Haseley (Doris) and sister, Nancy Haseley Nabholz (Rich). Tim was prece3ded in death by his parents Herbert and Hazel (Ecker) Haseley and his brothers, David and Carl Haseley. Tim took on many different titles and roles in his life; Son, brother, Dad, Grandpa, husband, stepdad, uncle, coach, Basketball commentator, golfer, cyclist, authority on all things Butler Basketball, super fan of his kids. No matter what title he was wearing, one thing was true, he was a Gentle Giant. Being a 6'8" Indiana High School Basketball stand-out, Tim earned a scholarship to play at Butler University from 1981-1985. Tim married his wife Kati in 2007 and instantly became a perfect piece of their family. He provided fatherly guidance when asked or needed, but as usual with Tim, he preferred to have fun. He enjoyed his deep conversations and banter with Shawn. As Chad and Tara began to have children, a new spark ignited in Tim as he got to experience being a grand[a. He will be remembered for his competitive and fun spirit, challenging his oldest granddaughters to backyard batting cage competitions, and enjoying rounds of golf with Chad. He always looked forward to visiting Destin, especially when Nicki was going to be there. To hear the two of them laugh together was enough to brighten any mood. Tim will be missed by the entire Veit family and his laughter will live on anytime there is a gathering. In remembrance and in homer of Tim's love of Butler Basketball, his family is asking that all donations be sent to the Bulldog Club at Butler University. Evelyn Pauline (Bernahl) Vitkus was welcomed home to the Church Triumphant on March 10, 2017. She was the daughter of Frank and Pauline (Haseley) Bernahl of Altamont, IL. Her brother Franklin and sister, Hilma (Schroeder) preceded her as well as her son Charles and daughter Diane Sue. Her husband Peter and son Daniel continue to live in Carmel, Indiana. Son-in-law, Rev. Dennis Meyer, granddaughter Rebecca (Robert) McCuaig and great-granddaughter Hannah live in La Porte, Indiana. Grandson Aaron (Cassie) Meyer live in Jasper, Indiana. Evelyn (Nana) was a woman of faith and strength. She described herself as “little but mighty". She and Peter were active in church. Evelyn regularly participated in women’s groups, Bible Studies, and Evangelism programs in all the various communities they lived. Most recently, Evelyn, Peter, and Daniel have been active members of Cornerstone Lutheran Church in Carmel, Indiana. Evelyn loved her family and their friends. She was an amazing cook and homemaker. Countless recipes have become favorites for her loved ones. There was always a warm welcome and a place at their table. Evelyn was an avid gardener. She loved God’s creation and whether it was the vegetable garden or flower garden, she was at home with garden gloves and a trowel to work the soil. The farm and the family from Illinois were a beloved part of her life and a favorite vacation spot for trips to connect with her roots. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Bethany Lutheran Church, 102 G Street, La Porte, Indiana on April 9, 2017 at 2:30 PM (CST). Arrangements have been made through Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center. Her son-in-law, Pastor Dennis Meyer, will preside at the service. Linda loved boating in the Ozarks. She enjoyed traveling and spending time soaking up the sun in Mexico. She was a mammogram and MRI technician at OSF Hospital in Urbana and previously worked at Carle Hospital in Urbana. She loved her job and was very dedicated to her work. Linda was an active member of Mahomet Lutheran Church, Christ Lutheran Church and Newcomers and Oldcomers in Lake Ozark. She loved to laugh and earned the nickname “Giggles” she loved having a fast paced life and liked to keep busy spending time with family and friends. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Diane Sue Meyer, 64, of La Porte, passed away on Monday, December 7, 2015 at IU Health La Porte Hospital.
Sue was born in DeKalb, IL on December 10, 1950 to Peter and Evelyn (Bernahl) Vitkus. On August 16, 1975, she married Dennis H. Meyer who survives. Also surviving are her beloved children, Rebecca (Robert "B.J.") McCuaig and granddaughter of La Porte and Aaron (Cassie) Meyer of Jasper, IN; parents, Peter and Evelyn Vitkus of Carmel, IN; and brother, Daniel Vitkus of Carmel, IN. She was preceded in death by her brother, Charlie Vitkus. Woman of faith, daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and gifted teacher. As a second grade teacher she inspired thousands of students. She had passion for “Girls on the Run”, after-school programs, confirmation classes, Bible studies, and a devotion to walk daily with Jesus. She was stunningly beautiful and warmed any room she walked in with her smile and her laugh. She touched countless lives and was happy knowing her Lord was watching. Though many mourn her passing, her life will continue to be an example for others to follow. When some asked why she wasn’t healed by prayer she would say, “I was”. She was kept safe from suffering and was cured long ago from sin. She was loved beyond words every second we had with her. We grieve yet she rejoices. A cremation committal has taken place with Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center, La Porte. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 1 PM on Saturday, December 19, 2015 at Bethany Lutheran Church. A time of visitation will take place from 9:30 AM until the time of service on Saturday at the church. Burial will take place at Carmel Cemetery at a later time.
