Funeral services for Esther Walck DeVantier, a retired employee of the Carborundum Co. in Niagara Falls, will be conducted at 2:30 P.M. Monday in Holy Ghost Lutheran Church. Burial will be in Holy Ghost Lutheran Cemetery.
Mrs. DeVantier, 86, died Friday (March 10, 1989) in Niagara Falls Memorial Center after a short illness.
She was born in Wheatfield and was a lifelong member of Holy Ghost Lutheran Church. She was a member of the Ladies Aid, Lutheran Women's Missionary League, Altar Guild and Women's Quilting Group at the church and a member of the Carborundum Alumni Association and the Wheatfield Senior Citizens.
She was the widow of Benjamin DeVantier.
Survivors include a son, Dennis, of Wheatfield; a sister, Louise Stoelting of Wheatfield, and five grandchildren

A native of Wheatfield, the former Louise E. Walck was a lifelong member of Holy Ghost Lutheran Church in Bergholz. She had worked for the Wurlitzer Co. for 40 years.
She was the widow of Reinhold.
Services will be conducted at 7 P.M. Monday in Holy Ghost Lutheran Church, Niagara Road and Luther Street. Burial will be in Holy Ghost Lutheran Cemetery

Althea E. (Walck) Haseley, age 86, of Wheatfield, was called peacefully in her sleep, to her heavenly home on Monday, January 7, 2013, while at the Northgate Health Care Facility. Born in Niagara Falls, NY, on August 8, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Erich and Eleanor (Stoelting) Walck.
Althea was a 1943 graduate of LaSalle High School, and later in life was employed at the Bon-Ton Department Store. She was a devoted Christian, wife and loving mother, raising five children. Althea was a life long member of Holy Ghost Lutheran Church, in Bergholz, where she served on the Altar Guild, spent time with the quilters and enjoyed sewing, cooking and baking.
Althea was predeceased by her husband, Albert H. Haseley on November 22, 2007. They were united in marriage on August 9, 1947; two sisters, Loraine (Winston) Moeller and Eleanor June (Marvin) Werth; and one brother, Gilbert (Shirley) Walck. Survivors include five children, Dale Haseley of Sanborn, Linda (Ron) Stevens of Wheatfield, Barbara (Vincent) Flow III of Kendall, NY, Janet Haseley of Brockport, NY and Joan (Stephen) Amico of Williamsville, NY; a brother, Albert (Helen) Walck; two sisters-in-law, Gladys Haseley and Lydia Stoelting; two brothers-in-law, Winston Moeller and Marvin Werth; loving grandmother of Laura (Christopher) Smith, Mark Stevens (Melissa Gerhardt), Katie (Adam) Godlove, Lisa (Brad) O'Connor and Vincent (Melissa) Flow IV; and great-grandchildren, Olivia Smith, Annette Smith, Alex Godlove and Sarah O'Connor; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the DUBOIS FUNERAL HOME, 2436 Niagara Road, (Bergholz) in Wheatfield on Friday from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM. Services will be conducted by the Rev. Philip N. Sallach, on Saturday, January 12th at 11:00 AM in Holy Ghost Lutheran Church, corner Niagara Road and Luther Street, in Bergholz. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Holy Ghost Lutheran Church, or to the Northgate Health Care Facility-Care Unit, care of Carla Marsh.

WHEATFIELD - Gilbert E. Walck, 60, of Maple Drive, Wheatfield, died at his residence Monday (Aug. 22,1988). He had been ill for some time. A lifelong, active member of Holy Ghost Lutheran Church, Bergholz. Walck served as elder, trustee, choir member, past chairman of the school board, church secretary and member of the Lutheran Laymen's League. He was a designer and engineer at Union Carbide Corp. for almost 30 years and a member of the Bergholz German Band. He was an exempt member of the Bergholz Fire Co.
He is survived by his wife Shirley (Moll) Walck; daughters, Kathleen Thompson of Glastonbury, Conn., and Rebecca Berardi of Buffalo; sons, Michael Walck of Tonawanda and Larry Walck of Sanborn; sisters, Althea Haseley, Lorraine Moeller and June Wirth, all of Wheatfield; a brother, Albert Walck of Schenectady; three grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
There will be no visitation.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Ghost Lutheran Church, Niagara and Luther streets, Bergholz. Burial will be in Holy Ghost Lutheran Cemetery, Bergholz. Contributions to Holy Ghost. Lutheran Church's Roof Fund or the Niagara Hospice Inc. are acceptable as tribute. Funeral arrangements were made by the DuBois Funeral Home, Wheatfield.

Loraine was an active member of St. John Lutheran Church and was a member of the Altar Guild, the Ladies of the Church and was a former Sunday School teacher. attended Holy Ghost Lutheran School and graduated from Niagara Falls High School. She was united in marriage to Marvin E. Werth on August 16th, 1958 in Holy Ghost Lutheran Church. June was the secretary of St. John Ev. Lutheran Church and School since 1970, where she was also an active member., including singing in the church choir. She was a former secretary for Branch 965 of the Aid Association for Lutherans, now known as Thrivent, and worked on many other charitable activities, including the Big Brother and Big Sister program. her hobbies and interests included crafts, computers, singing, traveling, and her grandchildren.

BERGHOLZ - Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in Holy Ghost Lutheran Church for Helma M. Heuer, 62, a former teacher in the church school and a participant in numerous church organizations. Burial will be in the church cemetery. A prayer service will be held at 9 p.m. Monday in the DuBois Funeral Home, 2436 Niagara Road. Mrs. Heuer, a teacher for 15 years, died Friday (Dec. 26, 1986) in Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center. She was a past president of the Ladies Aid group of Holy Ghost Church, a member of its Altar Guild and choir and a Sunday school teacher there. She served on the Lutheran Women's League and was a charter member of the Bergholz Fire Company's Ladies Auxiliary. The former Helma M. DeVantier was born in Wheatfield. Surviving are· her husband, George W.; two daughters, Cynthia and Marcia; her mother, Esther DeVantier, and a brother, Dennis DeVantier.

DENNIS A. DeVANTIER, age 87 of Wheatfield, NY, was called peacefully to his heavenly home, on January 1, 2021 at his residence, under the care of his loving family and Niagara Hospice. Born in the Town of Wheatfield on May 23, 1933; son of the late Benjamin and Esther (Walck) DeVantier. Dennis was a life long member of Holy Ghost Lutheran Church, Bergholz, a graduate of Niagara Falls High School, class of 1951, and served in the United States Army from 1953-1955. He was employed at General Abrasives as an Electrician for approximately 42 years, until his retirement. Dennis was one of the better fastpitch softball pitchers in the area, and played competitively into his 50's. He enjoyed watching his sons and grandsons play baseball, softball and basketball.Survivors include his loving wife, Doris (Kroening) DeVantier, whom he married February 15, 1958; three sons, Ronald DeVantier, Wayne (Marjorie) DeVantier, and Curtis (Stephanie) DeVantier; grandchildren, Sarah, Benjamin, Andrew, Luke, Joshua and Noah; a sister in law, Hazel (late Alfred) Haseley; a brother in law, Martin (Shirly) Kroening; and numerous nieces and nephews, including Cindy and Marcia Heuer. He was preceded in death by his sister, Helma (George) Heuer.A private service with the family, will be held in the DuBois Funeral Home, with the Rev. Denton White, officiating. Dale retired from Durez as a chemical operator in 1994.Dale loved the outdoors and owned a hunting cabin in Centerville NY since 1978, He enjoyed gardening, hunting and planted thousands of pine trees on his land in Centerville.Dale is survived by his sisters Linda (Ronald) Stevens, Barbara Flow, Janet Haseley and Joan (Stephen) Amico.
