Behm, 79 years old, widow of the late
Auguste Behm, of Cambria, died late
yesterday at her home in the Lower
Mountain road, Cambria, following a
long illness.
Mrs. Behm came to this country
from Germany 52 years ago and spent
the greater part of her life In Niagara
county. She was an active member
of the German Lutheran church at
North Ridge.
She is survived by four sons, John
A. Behm of Cambria, Bernard A.,
Frank F. and Albert A. Behm, all of
North Tonawanda, and three daughters,
Mrs. Albert Hahn, Cambria; Mrs.
C. Nogel, Lockport; and Mrs. George
Elemer. of North Tonawanda. One
brother, Albert Hidde, Niagara Falls,
also survives.
Funeral services will be held from
the home Wedneseday afternoon at
1:30 o'clock and at 2 o'clock from the
North Ridge German Lutheran
church, the Rev. John Barkow. officiating.
Burial will be in North
Ridge cemetery.

Moldenhauer at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Roth Funeral Home, funeral will be in St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery, North Ridge. Mrs. Hahn died Thursday (Nov. 13, 1958) in Buffalo after a long illness. Born in Germany, she lived in the Tonawanda's for the last 30 years and was one of the oldest members of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church. Her husband, Albert Hahn, died in 1935. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Fred Barndt, Ransomville; a son, Edward Hahn, Buffalo; a sister, Mrs. George Klemer, this city; and two brothers, Bernie Behm of Florida and Albert Behm, this city. Evelyn I. Capell, of Lockport, passed away February 9, 2017. Born in Lockport on December 8, 1918, she was the daughter of John and Lilian (Hellert) Behm. She was a graduate of Lockport High School in 1937 and worked as a bookkeeper before retiring from Marine Midland Bank in 1979. Evelyn moved to Barker when she married the late Norman Capell on August 9, 1941. She especially enjoyed the company of her granddaughter.

Evelyn is survived by her children Pamela (Peerce Lake) Harper of Florida and Douglas (Sue) Capell of Gasport; grandmother of Matthew (Julianna Kiley) and Maggie Capell; brother-in-law Everett Fitchlee; and Ella. She was pre-deceased by twin sons Dale and David, siblings Elton Behm, Geraldine Waters, Mildred Eick, Delbert Behm, Ruth Fitchlee, Iverna Behm, Harold Behm, and Marilyn Gauda.

The family would like to thank Heritage Manor and Niagara Hospice for their thoughtful care.

LOCKPORT — Delbert J. Behm passed away Friday, November 18, 2011 in Briody Health Care Facility. Born June 24, 1920 in Cambria, he was the son of the late John and Lillian Hellert. Delbert was an Inspector and Foreman at Harrison Radiator for many years.

He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Jeanne (nee Martin) Behm. Father of Anne Bannister of Fairport, NY and David (late Nancy) Behm of Lockport; grandfather of Alison Trapper, Lindsay Swanson and Christopher Bannister; great-grandfather of six. He is survived by his sister, Evelyn Capell of Lockport.

He was a life-long and active member of the Gratwick Hose Fire Co. He was a former employee of the Root Neal Company and he enjoyed playing Bingo, Euchre, and Cribbage. He was an avid Bills and Sabres fan.

Obituary of Duane J. Behm

Duane J. Behm passed away October 7, 2019 under the care of Niagara Hospice.  Born October 5, 1941 in Lockport he was the son of Elton and Virginia (Werth) Behm.  Duane served in the National Guard from 1964 to 1970 and worked at Harrison Radiator Division of GM as a Supervisor in the Metallurgy and Chemical Laboratory for 36 years retiring in 1998.  He was a member of the Jaycee’s serving as chairman of the Lockport Satellite for 22 years and was chairman of the Children’s Hospital Telethon.  Duane enjoyed hunting and woodworking.
Duane is survived by his wife Sharon (Felton) Behm; sons Darrin (Michelle) Behm and Eric(Anita) Behm; grandfather of Russell and Connor Behm and was the brother of Beverly (James) Penland, Lowell (Wenda) and the late Douglas Behm.  He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Douglas Harold Behm passed away Friday, August 14, 2009 in the Odd Fellow and Rebekah Health Care Facility. Born August 14, 1943 in Lockport, he was the son of Elton A. and Virginia Werth Behm. Doug served six years in the Army Reserves. He was a foreman at Harrison Radiator, retiring in 1996 after 33 years. He was a member of the G-9 Club, Lockport Corvette Club and Trinity Lutheran Church. Doug enjoyed working on his cars and woodworking. He is survived by his daughter, Jodi (Michael) James of Gasport and son, Michael (Cindy) Behm of Lockport; grandfather of Adam Sewar, Cassandra James, Gabrielle James and Jenna Behm. He was the brother of Lowell (Wenda) Behm, Duane (Sharon) Behm and Beverly (James) Penland, all of Lockport. Gloria B. (nee Behm) Stange, age 84, of North Tonawanda, April 1, 2014 in Buffalo General Hospital. Gloria was a lifelong member of St. Mark Lutheran Church. She enjoyed traveling with her late husband, Ken, and playing cards. She was a proud grandmother and great-grandmother.
She was the wife of the late Kenneth A. Stange, who died in 2010; they had been married for over 60 years. Beloved mother of Douglas (Kathleen) Stange and Dennis (Jane) Stange, both of North Tonawanda. Proud grandmother of Katie (Steven) Becker, Tracy (Steven) Dombrowski, Amanda, Bradley, Marilou and Melanie Stange. Great-grandmother of Carter, Colton and Kennedy Becker. Mother-in-law of Melissa (Kurt) Jaeger and Paula Stange.

He was the beloved husband of Diane (Wall) Hoffmeister, sister of Nancy (Don) Schimschack, brother of Carl (late Bonnie) Hoffmeister of NC. Beloved son of William (Nancy and the late Julie) Hoffmeister of Clarence, NY and John Hoffmeister (Kirsten) of VA. Grandfather to John Paul (Cindy), great grandchild Jackson, Kassandra (Erik) Flading and Clayton all of VA. , Emily Wangler of Colorado and special niece known as Auntie Lora to the Grandchildren. Gratwick Lumber Company of North Tonawanda was a family business which he ended up closing. He worked at Kittinger Furniture in Buffalo for 26 years and 6 years at North Tonawanda Public Library. He was a lifetime member of St Mark’s Lutheran Church in North Tonawanda and an associated member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Florida. He was a Veteran and a lifetime member of Amvets in North Tonawanda. He has now gone full circle and is at peace in his eternal home.

Born March 7, 1952 and graduated from Tonawanda High School and SUNY-Delhi, his career in foodservice design took him to Washington, DC, Pittsburgh and Ohio. He worked at KFC Headquarters, where he enjoyed communicating with "The Colonel" via CB radio. Rob moved to San Diego in 1982 to work for Foodmaker (Jack-in-the-Box) before opening Rob Batt Design in 1985. He was self-employed for 16 years. In 2001 he began his favorite position as Associate Director of Planning and Construction for Housing-Dining-Hospitality at University of California - San Diego. Rob loved the outdoors and every activity his children were involved in. His creative mind, sense of humor, generous heart, strength and devotion to family and friends endeared him to all. Survived by his wife of 27 years, Susan; daughter, Hannah; son, Nicholas; parents, Delores and Robert Batt of Clearwater, FL (formerly of Tonawanda); sister, Kathleen Patrick of Lockport, NY; nephews, Steven Ford (Barbara), Douglas Ford, and Eric Ford (Traci); and Godmother, Janet Holler of Tonawanda. Preceded in death by his sister, Pamela Batt, in 2000. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to St. Francis Chapel or to Niagara Hospice, Sunset Drive in Lockport.
